If We Controlled Your Remote… 6/29/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

cakewarssmallI love all the “wars” they have on Food Network (Halloween Wars is probably my favorite), so I’m very happy about tonight’s premiere of Cake Wars (not to be mistaken for Cupcake Wars). Hosted by Jonathan Bennett, the show will feature four expert bakers creating an elaborate cake in a grueling competition. The winner’s cake will be the star of a major event and will earn them the $10,000 prize. Master pastry chefs Waylynn Lucas and Ron Ben-Israel will judge.

On tonight’s episode, “The Simpsons,” one of the biggest television families ever is airdropping into Cake Wars — The Simpsons. They’re throwing a huge bash to celebrate their success and one of our cake makers will have their winning creation front and center at the event — and walk out $10,000 richer. Executive Producer of The Simpsons Matt Selman will help determine which baker wins and which will be left saying “D’oh!?”

See whose cake wins the top spot tonight on Food Network at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, So You Think You Can Dance, Major Crimes, Guilty Pleasures, Murder in the First, & Top 5 Restaurants.

teenwolf629smallTonight, MTV’s Teen Wolf returns for the start of its fifth season. When we last left off, the pack headed to Mexico to find Kira and Scott, who had been taken by Kate. When they arrived, they found themselves under attack from Berserkers, but the Calaveras, Chris Argent, and Deputy Parrish arrived shortly afterwards to join in their fight. They soon discovered that Kate had turned Scott into one of her Berserkers. However, Liam used his special bond to convince Scott to turn back, saying, “You’re not a monster. You’re a werewolf.” Like magic, Scott’s armor started dropping on, and he was once again a wolf.

Peter’s plan to have Scott’s friends accidentally kill him had failed, so he went after Liam, but when Scott saw his progeny in danger, he morphed into a True Alpha, which gave him the strength to stop Peter. Meanwhile, black wolf Derek arrived and took down werejaguar Kate. Afterwards, Chris shot her, but Kate still managed to get away. Peter wasn’t as lucky — he was locked up in Eichen House, where he was put in a cell made from mountain ash, and met his new roommate, the three-eyed Dr. Valack.

So what new Beacon Hills big baddie and/or creatures await the pack this season? Will Peter escape and go after Scott again? Will Kate return to town to finish what she started? I’m looking forward to another exciting season of thrills, chills, and humor!

On tonight’s episode, “Creatures of the Night,” the Season 5 premiere opens on the eve of senior year: Scott and his pack deal with the arrival of a new enemy and the return of an old friend.

Learn the identities of the new enemy and old friend tonight on MTV at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Island, Becoming Us, Odd Mom Out, Major Crimes, Murder in the First, Devious Maids, and UnREAL.
