If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/13/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

rookieblue813smallRookie Blue has had a good season so far. I was afraid that Marlo’s pregnancy would mean major trouble for Sam and Andy, but so far, they’ve been able to work through it. Hopefully that continues. Meanwhile, Oliver is still a suspect for being the dirty cop and planting the bomb, but I have no doubt whatsoever that they’ll clear his name. The question is: Is Steve Peck really dirty or is this some sort of misdirection?

On tonight’s episode, “Integrity Test,” with Oliver still the prime suspect in the bombing of 15 Division’s evidence room, Andy, Dov, Gail, and Nick come up with a risky and potentially career-ending plan to prove Oliver is being set up by Commissioner Alonso Santana. Meanwhile, Traci shadows Steve Peck, hoping to calm her fears about his involvement in the bombing.

See what Traci learns tonight on ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Boom!, Food Fighters, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, Beat Bobby Flay, & Geeks Who Drink.

bigbrother2015smallThis 17th season of Big Brother has been really entertaining. Last night, Steve and Shelli were on the block, and Head of Household Becky was hoping to backdoor Vanessa. Steve was getting overly paranoid that Becky was after him, and Vanessa was also paranoid that there was a backdoor plan to get her out. When Shelli got Houseguest’s Choice for the veto competition, she chose Vanessa, which made the rest of the group nervous that the backdoor plan may not happen.

The veto competition saw the return of BB Comics, where the contestants had to put comic book covers featuring each of the houseguests into the correct order. Steve won the veto competition, which sent Vanessa in a panic, but Becky assured her she wouldn’t go up. However, when Steve took himself off the block, Vanessa was put up in his place.

How will Vanessa react, and will it be her or Shelli who is evicted next? I don’t really care which of them goes first — the only person I’m rooting for is Johnny Mac. While at first his Bobcat Goldthwait-like voice was a bit annoying, now I’m use to it and find him hilarious.

On tonight’s live episode, either Shelli or Vanessa will be evicted and potentially become the first member of the jury, and then we will get a whole week’s worth of gameplay in one hour, ending with a second live eviction and Head of Household competition.

Find out who gets evicted tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Under the Dome, Sex&Drugs&Rock&Roll, Married, Complications, Dominion, and Review.

foodfighters2015smallI haven’t had a ton of time since moving to catch up on TV, so tonight I’m recommending Food Fighters, because cooking competition shows are far easier to catch up on while unpacking… Plus, I love them. There’s something about watching home cooks go up against these famous chefs that I just love to watch, especially because so many of them are favorites of mine from other shows. Last week we watched Alyssia, a mom from Dallas, go up against tough competition, including Brian Malarky, and while she didn’t win all her battles, she did manage to get quite a few votes in her favor. Personally, I am itching to someday get on a cooking competition show and hopefully win some money!

On tonight’s episode, “The Lawyer Raises the Bar,” this week, a California law student puts his signature dishes to the test, hoping to win $100,000 competing against pro chefs specializing in everything from Southern soul food to barbeque to American comfort food. In the final round, he’ll compete against famed Italian chef Fabio Viviani to see if he has what it takes to beat the very best.

To see if this lawyer can master the kitchen, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Mistresses, Beat Bobby Flay, and Under the Dome.
