If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/6/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

theflash106smallI’m really excited for the return of The Flash tonight. In this era of the dark, brooding superhero, it was great to see this series take the opposite approach and just have fun. When the first season left off, Wells had given Barry Allen the chance to go back in time to prevent his mother’s murder. While Barry debated the pros and cons of this unique opportunity, Caitlin and Ronnie got married, with their wedding officiated by Doctor Stein. Ultimately, Barry did go back in time, but just to say good-bye, instead of messing with the unknown consequences of changing the past. However, his trip caused a dangerous wormhole to appear. Eddie, knowing that Barry was predestined to end up with Iris, decided to kill himself in order to stop Thawne from being born and end his evil reign. However, this didn’t stop the deadly wormhole, and now a black hole was looming overhead.

How will Barry use his powers to prevent the destruction of Central City? Is Thawne really dead, and will Eddie’s sacrifice cause anything to change? What will happen to S.T.A.R. Labs without Harrison Wells around? What new meta-humans will Barry and his gang come up against this season? I’m looking forward to another fun, action-packed season!

Also returning to the CW tonight is iZombie, which I ended up really enjoying last season. I had the chance to talk with some of the cast and creators of the show at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. You can find my videos at NoReruns.net.

On tonight’s premiere of The Flash, “The Man Who Saved Central City,” Barry decides to protect Central City on his own, but when Atom Smasher attacks, Iris pleads with Barry to let his friends help protect the citizens. Meanwhile, Cisco helps Joe with his Meta Task Force.

See if Barry will let his friends help tonight on The CW at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Limitless, The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, Grandfathered, The Grinder, Scream Queens, and Face Off.

alwcgame106smallI’m doing something totally off-the-wall and recommending the ALWC baseball game between the Houston Astros and New York Yankees. I’m a fairly new fan of the game—I only really got into it this time last season, when my Kansas City Royals won the wild card game to get into the playoffs and went on to the World Series, losing in the seventh game. This season, I’ve watched almost every single game on TV, even while I was in the hospital. The only ones I’ve missed were when I was on the ventilator there for a week and a few here and there that were unavoidable.

I’m not an Astros or a Yankees fan, but the winner of that game is who the Royals play to advance in the ALCS bracket. So I’m going to be watching closely. I *think* I want the Yankees to win, only because many of the Houston players are a threat to hit home runs. They strike out a lot too, which is good, but…they have a good starting lineup of pitchers, as well, so the combination of that isn’t as good for the Royals’ future as it is with the Yankees, I think. Of course, none of that is a guarantee, so whichever way it turns out tomorrow, the Royals will need to keep their heads in the game come Thursday!

Check out the baseball game tonight on ESPN at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Grandfathered, NCIS, The Grinder, NCIS: NOLA, Chopped, & Limitless.

thevoice2015smallThere are very few talent shows that continue to keep my attention anymore, but The Voice manages to still intrigue me with every episode. The blind auditions this year have been intense because the talent this year is the best I’ve seen yet. Unfortunately, not everyone can go through, so the judges were really picky. Don’t worry if you missed them, because tonight is a recap of the blinds showing us the best auditions.

On tonight’s episode, “The Best of the Blind Auditions,” a recap of the blind auditions includes previously unseen footage and a preview of the upcoming battle rounds.

To catch up on all the amazing auditions you missed along the way, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Flash, Grandfathered, The Grinder, Scream Queens, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., NCIS, NCIS: NOLA, Chopped, Limitless, and Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris.
