If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/30/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

empire330smallTonight, Empire finally returns to FOX after almost four months away. When we last left off, Cookie was busy setting up a concert for Family Day at her old prison. Meanwhile, Lucious was about to make his big announcement about SwiftStream and invited Mimi to the stage to do so, but in an unexpected twist, she called for a vote to remove Lucious as the head of the company. Afterwards, Camilla paid a visit to Hakeem, suggestively fondling him while promising to take his career to the next level. That seemed to be all the convincing he needed, because at the vote Hakeem voted to oust his father from his own company. At the end of the midseason finale, a very pregnant Rhonda was pushed down the stairs by an unknown assailant as the nominees for the American Sound Awards were announced on a TV in the background – both Jamal and Lucious were nominated for Song of the Year.

Is Rhonda dead? If not, did she lose the baby? Who attacked her, and what was their reason for doing so? What is Lucious going to do now that he has been ousted from his company – what kind of play will he make to regain control? How will Hakeem’s betrayal factor into all of this? And what kind of fallout will occur from Jamal and Lucious competing for the same award? It should be a fun, soapy second half to the season. I’m glad I was finally able to catch up over the winter break, because I’m looking forward to a lot more unexpected twists and turns.

On tonight’s episode, “Death Will Have His Day,” Lucious announces he will stop at nothing to be at the top of his company again, but he’ll have to make his way past Cookie first. Meanwhile, Rhonda, Andre, and the rest of the Lyon family struggle to come to terms with a horrific tragedy that will change their lives forever.

See what happened with Rhonda and the baby tonight on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, Heartbeat, Arrow, Supernatural, Baby Daddy, Lopez, and The Americans.

Jenny’s Choice

criminalminds330smallCriminal Minds is again down an original cast member. Last week, after nearly losing wife Savannah (Morcia shippers, *gag* on three. LOL) and their little boy, Morgan made the hard decision to quit the BAU. It was a rough decision for everyone, but none more so than Reid and Garcia. Reid has always considered Morgan a combination big brother/friend, and their relationship has always been so supportive and fun. My favorite memory of them by far is their prank war some seasons back. Reid looked a little lost last week as he and Morgan said their good-byes. Then Morgan went to his office to pack up, and Garcia was already in there and had packed everything up for him. She talked sweetly about how he now had his own Baby Boy but that she was glad he didn’t have a baby girl. He promised that she would always be his Baby Girl. We learned that she was the baby’s godmother, which was fitting, I supposed.

So who will replace Morgan on the show? We don’t know yet…and we won’t for a while. This season will finish out without a replacement, giving the team and the viewers time to get used to the idea of him being gone. And as of now, the show hasn’t been renewed for another season, so unless it is, the series will end without filling the position. But tonight, Prentiss is back for an episode, and that should soften the blow!

On tonight’s episode, “Tribute,” when former BAU team member and current Interpol Agent Emily Prentiss tracks an international serial killer, she enlists the help of her friends at the BAU after she is convinced the UnSub’s next victim is on American soil. Also, the BAU deals with Morgan’s departure from the team. Paget Brewster guest stars.

See the team reunite with Prentiss tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Heartbeat, Rosewood, Law & Order: SVU, Wahlburgers, Chicago PD, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, Lopez, Mystery Diners, & The Soul Man.

Megan’s Choice

chicagopd330smallChicago PD returned last week with an amazing episode as always. The team got called to a shooting at a store, which turned out to also be a secret home for abused women. Lindsay was particularly upset about this case and was working very hard to find the people responsible. In the end, they figured it out and the people paid for it. Also in this episode, Roman and Burgess seemed to grow closer, and he showed up at the end to escort her to a Shakespeare in the Dark. I’m not sure this is a couple I am fond of, but I suppose time will tell.

On tonight’s episode, “If We Were Normal,” when Burgess and Lindsay respond to a call about a stabbing, the assailant turns out to be a kidnapping victim escaping her captor; Ruzek accuses Roman of having feelings for Burgess.

To see how the victim escaped her kidnapper, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Rosewood, Criminal Minds, Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders, and Heartbeat .
