If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/3/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

thewalkingdead43smallTonight, the sixth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead comes to a close with a special 90-minute finale, and it’s likely that one or more major character isn’t going to survive the night. Last week, Carol ran off in the middle of the night and ended up crossing paths with another group of Negan’s men. She was able to escape thanks to putting on her downtrodden weak persona…and the fact that she had a hidden machine gun she had sewn into the sleeve of her jacket. Meanwhile, when the rest of the group learned about Carol’s disappearance, they split up into search parties, while Daryl headed off on his own to find and kill Dwight. Rick and Morgan thought they were tracking Carol, but it ended up just being a walker that resembled her, so they headed back to Alexandria, where Maggie (with a new short haircut) started having extreme stomach pains. Elsewhere, Dwight managed to capture Glenn and Michonne and used them as bait to set a trap for Daryl, which worked. The episode ended with Dwight shooting Daryl and the camera view getting covered in blood. Is Daryl dead?!

I think it’s highly unlikely that Daryl is actually dead (yet) and that all that blood we saw was from some sort of shoulder wound rather than a head shot. However, that still doesn’t put our gang out of danger! Will Dwight take his captives to Negan? Will be finally see Negan, and if so, what’s his style of justice like? Also, what happened to Carol after she got away? Is Maggie in labor, or is she losing the baby? And is her situation life-threatening? It should be an exciting night, and I’m just hoping all of my favorite characters survive!

On tonight’s finale, “Last Day on Earth,” Rick and the group must go outside the walls to save one of their own, but what they experience on the road will change their lives forever.

Find out who lives or dies tonight on AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Family, Quantico, The Carmichael Show, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, Talking Dead, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

wdytya2016smallI love Who Do You Think You Are? on TLC. Celebrities go on a journey to find their family history. This search can take them right down the street, across the country, or even overseas. They learn both good and bad – such as their great-great-grandfather was a drunken abuser or they fought for the country against the British – but in the end, it’s a worthwhile journey for them…and for the viewers. We get an up-close-and-personal look at some of our favorite actors, musicians, athletes, and more.

On tonight’s season premiere, “Aisha Tyler,” the actress tracks down her great-great-grandfather, whose story had been lost over generations, uncovering an astonishing tale of a prominent ancestor whose efforts to keep his illegitimate son a secret made headlines.

See what Aisha finds out tonight on TLC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Little Big Shots, All-Star Academy, Crowded, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

Megan’s Choice

thefamilysmallThere is something incredibly strange about The Family and its twisted plot line, which is exactly why I keep coming back for more. I was a little put off in the beginning because I thought it was going to be another drama where we are left to wonder who someone really is for season after season. That is not the case for this show. We have gone from Adam returning to his family after 10 years of them believing he was dead to his older brother Danny not believing it is really Adam. Last week we watched as the journalist, Nina, who’s been sleeping with Danny, confirmed with a DNA test that this boy is indeed not Adam. I have no idea what is going to happen next, only that everything is about to hit the fan for this family sooner rather than later and it’s going to make for some incredible, must-watch TV.

On tonight’s episode, “Nowhere Man,” Nina and Clements design a plan to lure the pock-marked man, Doug, using Adam as bait. However, things go awry when Adam spots Doug in the mall. He becomes sick and is taken to the hospital while the police continue their pursuit of Doug. After the doctor reviews Adam’s medical history, he drops a bombshell on an unsuspecting Claire. In flashbacks, we return to the night when Adam was kidnapped, retracing all the near misses where Doug crossed paths with the Warrens and the police.

Find out what happens with the Warren family tonight on ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Once Upon a Time, Guy’s Grocery Games, Quantico, and Cutthroat Kitchen.
