Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of The Night Of on HBO at 9/8c. Pakistani-American college student Nasir “Naz” Khan, who lives with his parents in Queens, NY, takes his father’s taxi to go a party in Manhattan. But what starts as a perfect night for Naz becomes a nightmare when he’s arrested for murder. Starring John Turturro (Fading Gigolo, O Brother, Where Art Thou?) and Riz Ahmed (Nightcrawler), the show delves into the intricacies of a complex New York City murder case with cultural and political overtones. The story examines the police investigation, the legal proceedings, the criminal justice system and Rikers Island, where the accused await trial.
Tonight is also the series premiere of Policewomen Files on Oxygen at 10/9c. This is a gripping series that chronicles the true stories of complex murder cases solved by policewomen. Witness their challenges, setbacks, and dramatic revelations as they piece together homicide investigations.
Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Brad Neely’s Harg Nallin’ Sclopio Peepio on Cartoon Network at 11:45/10:45c. This is a new quarter-hour animated sketch show created by Neely that features a collection of frenetic one-off bits, shorts, and songs, all filtered through Neely’s signature visual style. Beware, however, that this show hates you.

Tonight is the series premiere of Capital on Pivot at 10/9c. “We Want What You Have.†These five puzzling words change the community of Pepys Road forever. After each of the quiet south London street’s residents receives an anonymous postcard with that ominous message, nothing is the same. While some initially dismiss the postcards as junk mail, their lives quickly begin to unravel as the postcards keep coming at an alarming rate. The residents come from a variety of backgrounds, but they all share something in common: each of them is deeply plagued by the mystery of these postcards. The events that unfold examine one simple question: What are we all really worth?
