Tonight is the series premiere of Kevin Can Wait on CBS at 8:30/7:30c. Kevin James stars as a newly retired police officer looking forward to spending carefree, quality time with his wife and three kids, only to find he faces tougher challenges at home than he ever did on the streets. Kevin’s retirement plans consist of chilling with his family and having epic adventures with fellow retirees Goody, his former partner and close friend, and Duffy, his oldest pal, as well as his brother, Kyle, a fireman whose closest encounter with a blaze would be a grease fire in the firehouse kitchen. However, Kevin’s dream is jeopardized when he discovers that Donna, his wonderful wife of 20 years, has shielded him from key family info while he worked overtime protecting the community. Their usually reliable eldest, Kendra, is dropping out of college so she can support her unemployed fiancé, Chale, while he designs the next “big app”; his teenage daughter, Sara, has budding anger-management issues; and their youngest, Jack, is a bit of a hypochondriac. For now, his plans for a cushy life will have to wait, because Kevin has work to do, and this time, his family is his beat.

Tonight is also the 1-hour series premiere of The Good Place on NBC at 10/9c. From Michael Schur, executive producer of Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Parks and Recreation, and The Office, comes a smart, unique new comedy that follows Eleanor Shellstrop (Kristen Bell, House of Lies, Veronica Mars), an ordinary woman who, through an extraordinary string of events, enters the afterlife where she comes to realize that she hasn’t been a very good person. With the help of her wise newfound afterlife mentor (Ted Danson, CSI, Cheers), she’s determined to shed her old way of living and discover the awesome (or at least the pretty good) person within. He’s paired up with Roger Murtaugh (Emmy Award nominee Damon Wayans, My Wife and Kids), who’s just coming back to the job after a near-fatal heart attack. Riggs’s penchant for diving headfirst into the line of fire immediately clashes with Murtaugh’s prudent, by-the-book technique. It’s clear from the moment they meet, this partnership could be lethal. But by the time their first investigation ends, Riggs realizes he may have found something worth living for: a partner and friend like Murtaugh. And even Murtaugh figures this arrangement might just work out after all. If only Riggs doesn’t get them killed first. Also starring are Keesha Sharp, Kevin Rahm, and Jordana Brewster.

Tonight is the series premiere of Pitch on FOX at 8:59/7:59c. This is the dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball. A beautiful, tough and gifted athlete, Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury, Under the Dome) is vaulted into instant fame when she’s called up by the San Diego Padres to make her Major League debut. Like any rookie, Ginny must prove herself to her teammates. Foremost among them is Mike Lawson (Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Franklin & Bash, NYPD Blue), the team’s ruggedly handsome star catcher. There’s instant chemistry between them, although neither dares admit it. After all, Mike is captain of the team and a few of his players don’t even want Ginny on the field. One of the players watching Ginny’s back is center fielder Blip Sanders (Mo McRae, Sons of Anarchy), an old friend from the minor leagues. Guiding her is her agent/confidante Amelia Slater (Ali Larter, Legends, Heroes). Amelia saw Ginny’s star potential early on and left her previous job as a Hollywood publicist to concentrate on the young phenom. Although groomed for this moment by her demanding father, Bill Baker (guest star Michael Beach, Sons of Anarchy), the end of Ginny’s improbable journey is the beginning of an almost impossible one: representing her gender as she embarks on a successful baseball career under the glare of the white-hot media spotlight. It’s a goal hard enough for anyone to achieve — except this player is also a woman, who happens to be the most important historical figure in sports since Jackie Robinson. This season, Ginny Baker will be the other woman trying to break into one of the oldest, most exclusive men’s clubs in the country. The show also stars Dan Lauria, Mark Consuelos, Meagan Holder, and Tim Jo.

Tonight is also the premiere of the 3-part series Million Dollar Listing: New York: Ryan’s Wedding on Bravo at 9/8c. Celebrate the nuptials of Ryan Serhant and Emilia Bechrakis. Each episode will follow Ryan and Emilia as they plan their larger than life wedding ceremony on the stunning island of Corfu, Greece, where viewers are invited to sit front row to witness the love, laughter and drama along the way.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Notorious on ABC at 9/8c. Powerhouse TV news producer Julia George (Piper Perabo) capitalizes on the notoriety of the clients of charismatic defense attorney Jake Gregorian (Daniel Sunjata). Together, they make great TV and determine the nation’s headlines while attempting to control the media, the justice system and ultimately each other. Behind the scenes, the people surrounding Jake and Julia are driven to advance their own professional and personal agendas, in a world where motives are suspect and morality is subjective. This is inspired by the true-life stories of famed criminal defense attorney Mark Geragos and cable news producer Wendy Walker, who serve as executive producers. It’s a provocative look at the unique, sexy, and dangerous interplay of criminal law and the media.

Tonight is the series premiere of MacGyver on CBS at 8/7c. MacGyver, a reimagining of the classic series, is an action-adventure drama about 20-something Angus “Mac” MacGyver, who creates the Department of External Services (DXS), a clandestine organization within the U.S. government, where he uses his extraordinary talent for unconventional problem-solving and vast scientific knowledge to save lives. Joining his team on high-risk missions around the globe is maverick former CIA agent Jack Dalton (George Eads); Patricia Thornton (Sandrine Holt), an ex-field agent turned director of operations; and Riley Davis (Tristin Mays), an unpredictable computer hacker with a chip on her shoulder. At home, MacGyver is entertained by his ambitious roommate, Wilt Bozer (Justin Hires). Under the aegis of the Department of External Services, MacGyver takes on the responsibility of saving the world, armed to the teeth with resourcefulness and little more than bubble gum and a paper clip.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Exorcist on FOX at 9:01/8:01c. Something is wrong in the Rance household. Angela Rance (Academy Award winner Geena Davis, A League of Their Own, The Fly) suspects demonic possession and enlists the help of two priests: the progressive, but naive, Father Tomas Ortega (Alfonso Herrera, Sense8) and the broken holy warrior, Father Marcus Keane (Ben Daniels, Flesh and Bone, House of Cards). Together, they will be drawn into a nightmare beyond imagining.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Van Helsing on Syfy at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 11/10c. In a twist on the classic vampire adventure tale, Van Helsing revolves around unlikely heroine Vanessa Helsing (Kelly Overton, True Blood), who unexpectedly discovers that she holds the key to humanity’s survival: her own blood! Gifted with not only an immunity to vampires, Vanessa is also capable of taking out her bloodthirsty foes by turning them into humans with her bite. Now both prey and predator, Vanessa sinks her teeth into her role as humanity’s leader — and secret weapon — in their resistance against the vampires that plagued their world. The show also stars Aleks Paunovic, Christopher Heyerdahl, David Cubitt, Jonathan Scarfe, Tim Guinee, & Paul Johansson.

Weird that it says #BBT1003 but also Season Premiere. Should be #BBT1001

I can only go off what’s on the place I get my info from, and that said 1003. 1001 is next week. 🙂 It all has to do with production numbers, so for some reason, these were flipped. 🙂
