If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/29/16

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

shooter1129smallUSA Network recently launched the new series Shooter, which is based on the same novel as the 2007 film of the same name. Ex-Marine and expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Ryan Phillippe, Secrets and Lies) was living a quiet lakeside life with his wife and daughter when he was approached by longtime friend/Secret Service agent Capt. Isaac Johnson (Omar Epps, House). A sniper had announced his intention to assassinate the president, and Isaac wanted Bob Lee’s help to prevent it. However, things went wrong and the Ukrainian president ended up dead, and Bob Lee quickly realized he had been set up to take the fall. In last week’s episode, Isaac arranged for someone to kill Bob Lee in prison, but he thwarted this attempt and managed to escape, making his way to the home of the mother of an deceased military buddy. However, Isaac wasn’t far behind, so he grabbed some money and a motorcycle and took off. He then made a call to his wife Julie, knowing the Feds were listening, and told her, “I’m going to do what I do best. I’m going to hunt.”

So now Bob Lee is out for justice — to clear his name and kill those responsible for the assassination and setting him up. Why was Bob Lee chosen as the patsy? Why did Isaac turn on his friend, and who is he working for? Was the US president really the target, or was the Ukrainian present the real target the entire time? Things are starting to get really exciting, and I’m anxious to see what happens next!

On tonight’s episode, “Musa Qala,” Bob Lee reaches out to Nadine while evading his pursuers; and Isaac juggles his double life while trying to find Bob Lee.

See what Bob Lee learns from Nadine tonight on USA Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brooklyn Nine-Nine, New Girl, Scream Queens, The Flash, No Tomorrow, Sweet/Vicious, and Good Behavior.

Megan’s Choice

brooklyn991129smallBrooklyn Nine-Nine is still making me laugh every episode, which is a pleasant break from life. I love the quirky cast, especially the relationship between Jake and Amy. Last week we watched as Jake met Amy’s father, and while it started off rough, they got along by the end. It wasn’t much of a surprise that Mr. Santiago didn’t feel like Jake was good enough for Amy, but I’m hoping going forward he’ll see how perfect they are together. Also, we got to see some great Holt/Pimento interaction, after learning that Pimento can’t rejoin the NYPD, when Pimento placed a bet on the dog show Holt was watching. And the rest of the gang had to deal with the live turkey Charles had delivered so he could kill it for them to eat. My first thought was, “How long until they plan to eat?! Cooking that big a bird will take forever!”

On tonight’s episode, “Skyfire Cycle,” when famous author DC Parlov receives death threats, Jake and Terry take the case so that Terry can meet his lifelong hero. Back at the precinct, Gina forces her way into the Boyle clan of cousins in an attempt to choose the location of the annual Boyle family vacation. Meanwhile, Holt’s anger peaks when Amy chooses Kevin’s side in their argument about a math puzzle.

To find out how Terry feels after meeting his hero, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, This Is Us, Chopped, and Chicago Fire.
