Last week was a huge turning point in Reid’s predicament on Criminal Minds. He had a visitor and was shocked to see his mother there for the first time since he was put in prison. She was scared for him but he calmed her down, only to tell him that she’d fired her previous caretaker and she really liked the new one. Only…when the young woman came to pick her up, Reid recognized her. Not only was she a crazy girl in a previous case the BAU worked, where she urged her father to kill a guy, but…she was the woman in the hotel room down in Mexico. SHE was the one who killed the doctor, gassed Reid, and then told him it was time to leave and to follow her. Reid figured out he knew her from the previous case, but she said she didn’t know what he was talking about. It was only after she’d basically dragged his mother away that he realized she was the one in Mexico. By then, it was too late and they were gone.

And of course, there was still the weekly case, which was really kind of heartbreaking last week… A former colleague & friend of Walker’s was taken to the hospital after he suffered what they believed to be a heart attack. But they quickly figured out that in actuality, he’d been poisoned with a lethal dose of radiation. Several more victims followed, all of whom worked for the government in some capacity, including the killer’s husband, whom she killed by poisoning his lunch, rather than using a needle like she’d done for the others. The team had her surrounded, but she grabbed a hostage, and no one had a shot until Rossi came up behind her. He was able to take her down before she could stab her hostage with the needle she was holding. As for Walker’s friend, he was alone, since he and his wife had divorced and their son sided with her. Originally he didn’t want Walker to call his ex-wife or his son, since he didn’t want to burden them, but as his death loomed close, he told Walker he wished he’d been able to see his son one last time. Walker promised to make it happen – and he did. He sent JJ and Luke to pick the son up from college. At first he balked, saying he wanted nothing to do with his father, but then the scene changed to show him arriving at the hospital, obviously upset. So there was a reunion, which was both touching and sad.

The young woman who killed the doctor and helped set up Reid can’t be working alone – not after gassing him like Scratch has done with his victims. But will they be able to find Diana in time?? Tonight is the next-to-last episode of the season, so it’s all got to come to a head this week and next. I can’t wait to see all the action tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Green Light,” when Reid fears his mother has been abducted, he asks the BAU to investigate while he’s stuck in prison.

Find out what the team learns tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Blindspot, The Goldbergs, Cooks vs Cons, Law & Order: SVU, Modern Family, Chicago PD, & Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.

I always enjoy taking my weekly trip back to the 80s with The Goldbergs each Wednesday. Last week, Erica decided that since she would be graduating and heading off to college soon, it was time for Adam and Barry to grow up and start fending for themselves. So when Barry starts a “Fonzie scheme” of stealing golf carts, it was up to Adam to be the voice of reason. However, when Barry accidentally got himself trapped under a golf cart, it was too much for Adam to handle on his own, and his big sister finally gave in and showed up to help. Meanwhile, when Murray was honored as one of Jenkintown’s top businessmen, Beverly realized that her husband had no hobbies outside the house, so she tried to help him come up with some, sarcastically suggesting couponing. Murray liked the idea of saving money and was soon got carried away, going completely overboard in true Beverly fashion.

The Goldbergs always manages to mix in a lot of heart with the wacky humor. Last week we saw some bonding between the siblings, and hobbying together brought Murray and Beverly closer in the end. I always enjoy when this series mixes in pop culture from the 80s, and it looks like tonight’s episode will revolve around a landmark end-of-the-world TV movie that aired in 1983 and also deal with Mother’s Day. I can’t wait to see what craziness ensues when they mix these two storylines!

On tonight’s episode, “The Day After The Day After,” the TV movie The Day After freaks out Barry, who attempts to convince Murray to build an underground bunker. Meanwhile, Erica and Adam try to use over-the-top Mother’s Day gifts to get what they want, but it ultimately backfires. Rowan Blanchard (Girl Meets World) guest stars.

See what gifts Erica and Adam try to use to their advantage tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Speechless, Modern Family, black-ish, Designated Survivor, Survivor, Criminal Minds, Arrow, The 100, Fargo, and Archer.

Last week’s episode of Chicago PD had a lot of moments that were filled with character growth. The case turned up a gun that was also used in a murder 17 years before, which meant that Voight locked up the wrong person. After Voight went to his old friend/partner to discuss the fact that the wrong guy went to prison, Denny told him to leave it alone. After some more investigation, it turned out that Denny framed the guy, Mark, who was put away for murder. Later the team gave some evidence that had Denny being investigated and arrested. It was a really good episode that showed us a softer side of Voight, and I enjoyed it immensely.

On tonight’s episode, “Fagin,” when the team is called to an in-progress bank robbery, they come across Detective Hailey Upton trying to take over the crime scene with her Robbery-Homicide unit, butting heads with Voight in the process. As the robberies continue to be executed around the city, Lindsay is forced to make a decision in the heat of the moment, revealing a surprising suspect behind the mask. While working on the case at the district, Upton is shocked to come across Platt, who has a special connection to her past.

To see how Voight handles the issue with the Robbery unit and exactly what Platt has to do with this case, tune in to NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Blindspot, Law & Order: SVU, Criminal Minds, and Criminal Minds: Beyond Borders.
