Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

Tonight, TNT kicks off a double-episode premiere of the new series Will, which follows the early adventures of William Shakespeare (Laurie Davidson) as he tries to make his way as a playwright in 16th century London. As the series opens, Will leaves his wife and young children back home in the country to go to London to try to sell his plays. His wife is skeptical that anyone would want to buy his plays, but Will wants to see if there is a fortune to be made in his writings. The London theatre crowds seem to be getting bored with the same old tired tropes, and Will sees an opportunity to step in, but some don’t appreciate the competition. Will is used to the slower life of the country, and in the city he becomes a bit wide-eyed, finding himself the target of both thieves and temptations. This is also a dangerous place for him — the Protestants are torturing and killing the Catholics on sight, so Shakespeare must keep his religion a secret. The series also stars Olivia DeJonge, Ewen Bremner, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood (The Shannara Chronicles), Jamie Campbell Bower, William Houston, Lukas Rolfe, Max Bennett, and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

While I wasn’t blown away by tonight’s premiere, it did show some promise. It sets up several different threads to explore over the course of the season. Not only does the series look at what inspired Shakespeare to write some of his most famous plays, but it also explores the political and social climate at the time. The execution of the series kind of reminded me of A Knight’s Tale. It blends a modern soundtrack with a not-so-modern setting.

On tonight’s premiere, “The Play’s the Thing,” in 1589, a time of religious turmoil in England, Will Shakespeare arrives from the small town of Stratford to the wild streets of London with little more than a dream and a treacherous letter. Then on the second episode, “Cowards Die Many Times,” Will is racked with guilt over the arrest of the rival playwright, Baxter, and he makes a dangerous confession to the beautiful and rebellious Alice. The future of the theatre is threatened when the crowd-pleasing actor, Kemp, is tempted by another playhouse.

Go back in time to the 1600s tonight on TNT starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Superhuman & Dessert Games.

Jenny’s Choice

My pick tonight is a double one, and since they’re back-to-back on one network (Food Network), I’m coming them into one choice. My site. My prerogative. LOL

First up is the series premiere of Dessert Games. Long story short: It’s Guy’s Grocery Games for pastry/dessert chefs, hosted by the “Ace of Cakes” himself, Duff Goldman. Really. It’s basically Guy’s grocery store transformed into a huge store for pastry chefs. Four pastry chefs from around the country will compete in three rounds of baking challenges, and the chef who wins over the judges will earn $10,000. I love Guy’s Grocery Games. I love Duff Goldman. I love cooking/baking competition shows. So for me? Win-Win-Win!!

Then following that, it’s the series premiere of Texas Cake House. If you haven’t heard of Natalie and Dave Sideserf, prepare to be amazed. This husband and wife team make the most realistic, most incredible, most awe-inspiring cakes I’ve ever seen. I heard about her a while back and went and looked at some of her cakes. They’re insane. Absolutely insane. She became so popular that her husband quit his job to help her out, and now they are an adorably fun, sweet, funny pair that is ready to take over TV with their awesome cake designs.

On tonight’s episode of Dessert Games, “Welcome to Sweet City,” a deep-fried dessert on a budget that Guy secretly downsizes; making a late-night guilty pleasure in only 20 minutes; a giant gumball machine determines which wild ingredient must be featured in a tricked-out ice cream sandwich.

Then on the first episode of Texas Cake House, “Bugging Out,” making a cake prominently featuring jaguars for the San Antonio zoo; making a cricket-shaped cake out of cricket flour for an event to get kids excited about bugs. That’s followed by a 2nd episode, “The Great Flying Cakes of Austin,” a flying kitten cake complete with parachute for a local art school; when a skydiving school calls, the Sideserfs experiment with a magnetic platform to make an edible penguin that can fly.

Check out all the bakery fun tonight on Food Network starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, So You Think You Can Dance, Whose Line Is It Anyway, & Incredible Edible America with the Dunhams.
