Tonight is the series premiere of Divided States on A&E at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c. In this original documentary series, A&E takes an in-depth look at how racial tensions and hate crimes are impacting communities in the United States and Europe, and how community members are confronting the problem and fighting back.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Shifting Gears on DIscovery Channel at 10:17/9:17c. After departing Gas Monkey Garage in 2016, Aaron Kaufman (from Fast N’ Loud) set out on a new venture: opening his own shop, Arclight Fabrication, in Dallas, Texas, and providing aftermarket parts for the F100 market. Joined by a dream team of hand-selected builders from around the country, Aaron makes it clear that his shop will pride itself on the extreme performance of its vehicles. His goal for every build this season is to test each vehicle in some of the harshest conditions known to the auto world. Aaron will be learning along the way, breaking out of his comfort zone and talking to some of the top experts in the country, all while pushing the boundaries of vehicle performance. The builders — Josh Freeman, Jonathan Rodriquez, Jason Bowman, Jeremy Webster, and Jonathan Mansour — were hand-picked by Aaron, and each of them brings a specific skill set to the shop. They are all fueled by the same passion and curiosity for how far their talents will take them, as they and Aaron set out to prove their work. Putting their build expertise, stamina and creativity to the test, Aaron and his team work tirelessly to push the limits of custom car builds – even risking the vehicles’ destruction in the process.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Curse of Civil War Gold on History Channel at 10/9c. Marty Lagina, of The Curse of Oak Island, has been approached by numerous people offering leads into some of the world’s greatest mysteries and has learned of an enigma that rivals Oak Island — a story of national treasure that goes back to the Civil War. In 1865, Union soldiers from Michigan tracked down and arrested Confederate President Jefferson Davis before he could flee the country. These troops allegedly confiscated millions of dollars’ worth of Confederate gold and silver that Davis was transporting and carried out a daring plot to smuggle it nearly 1,000 miles back home using the burgeoning railway system. According to a lighthouse keeper’s deathbed confession years later, part of the stolen treasury was allegedly put into a train car on a barge that was deliberately pushed off a ferry into Lake Michigan. Kevin Dykstra, a Michigan native and history enthusiast, has been on a seven year quest to solve what happened to the lost gold of the Civil War and believes he can find the sunken train car. However, the sonar scanning of an estimated one hundred square miles will involve tens of thousands of dollars and Dykstra will need to show tangible proof of his theory to Marty before the Traverse City businessman will invest in Kevin’s operation. This leads Dykstra and his team on a compelling hunt to the scene of the original heist; into bank vaults to search for secret tunnels constructed to help launder the loot; and ultimately to the bottom of Lake Michigan to finally decipher one of the biggest conspiracies in American history.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Hard Sun on Hulu at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. Jim Sturgess and Agyness Deyn play detectives Robert Hicks and Elaine Renko, partners and enemies, who seek to enforce the law and protect their loved ones in a world that every day slips closer to a world-ending natural disaster. Hicks is a family man and a great, committed officer. He’s also profoundly corrupt. Renko is a difficult and damaged, but utterly incorruptible officer. Thus, the two cops stand on different ends of the social and moral spectrum and also seriously distrust one other — and for good reason. But they must somehow learn to work together if they’re going to survive until the end of the world.

Tonight is the series premiere of Life Sentence on The CW at 9/8c. When Stella (Lucy Hale), a young woman who has spent the last eight years living like she was dying, finds out that her cancer has been cured, she is suddenly forced to face the long-term consequences of the “live in the moment” decisions she made, including marrying a total stranger. She also finds out that her “perfect family” isn’t so perfect after all and everyone in her life hid their problems from her. Stella is shocked to learn that her parents, Peter (Dylan Walsh) and Ida (Gillian Vigman), have fallen out of love, her sister, Elizabeth (Brooke Lyons), gave up her own dreams to start a family with her husband Diego (Carlos PenaVega) to take care of her, and her often overlooked brother, Aiden (Jayson Blair), who’s pushing 30 and still lives above the garage, sells Adderall to soccer moms and uses Stella’s cancer to guilt them into sleeping with him. Meanwhile, Stella’s husband Wes (Elliot Knight), begins to worry that he can’t continue to pretend to be her perfect husband for the rest of his life. With a real future suddenly in front of her, Stella’s cinematic life snaps into reality, and instead of living like she’s dying, she will have to learn to live like she’s living, and help her family and friends do the same.

Tonight is also the 2-hour series premiere of The Men Who Built America on History Channel at 9/8c. The eight-hour documentary series will follow the stories of iconic pioneers such as Daniel Boone, Lewis & Clark, Tecumseh, Davy Crocket and Andrew Jackson as they set forth across untamed land. “Frontiersmen” will span a formative period of American history — the first 75 years from the post-revolutionary war colonies through the California Gold Rush. The series will show how the frontier helped shape us from colonists into today’s Americans.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings on Discovery Channel at 9/8c. Each week, Outlaws veteran “Chuck” will serve as race master in a new city and on a new “no prep” track, where 32 of the biggest names in no prep racing – including Street Outlaws favorites, as well as newcomers — will duke it out to become the ultimate “no prep winner” and receive a $40,000 first place purse. With more than $320,000 up for grabs, the stakes are high and the risks are even higher, as local crowds flock to each race to see which all-star Street Outlaws will show up and who will win it all. In the world of street racing, “no prep” racing is one of the “baddest” and dirtiest challenges in the game. Unlike traditional street racing, no prep racers drive on tracks that have not been primed with traction compounds — which helps bond tire rubber to the concrete surface. The rules are simple, and it’s every man for himself in each wild and dangerous race. This show summons all-star racers from all over the Outlaw family — including OKC’s Ryan Martin, Chuck Seitsinger, Doc, Dominator, and Reaper, along with New Orleans’ Kye Kelley, Scott Taylor, and Jerry Bird — and also features other no prep superstars, including Birdman, Swamp Thing, and Megalodon. Each episode boasts a new matchup in a different U.S. city, where massive crowds gather to cheer on their favorite Street Outlaws contender. The OKC crew will lay it all on the line and test their skills on these unfamiliar tracks — but can they protect their winning legacy?

Finally, tonight is the complete first season premiere of The Oath on Crackle (Sony’s streaming service) at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. The show stars Ryan Kwanten (True Blood), Cory Hardrict (American Sniper, Gran Torino), Arlen Escarpeta (The Magicians), Katrina Law (Training Day), J.J. Soria (Animal Kingdom, The Fosters) and Game of Thrones alum, Sean Bean. The 10-episode series explores a world of gangs made up of those sworn to protect and defend and sheds light on corrupt and secret societies that are nearly impossible to join — only a select few make the cut — but once inside, members will do what they must to protect each other from enemies on the outside and from within their own ranks. Created by Joe Halpin (Hawaii Five-0, Secrets and Lies), who worked as a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department deputy in South Central for 17 years, 12 of which as an undercover officer, the series takes an unforgiving look at the complicated dynamics in these organizations and documents the lives of those willing to risk it all, to have it all. It also stars Aaron Abrams, Billy Malone, Cory Hardrict, Elisabeth Rohm, Eve Mauro, Isaac Keys, Isabel Arraiza, J. Anthony Pena, Kwame Patterson, Linda Purl, Michael Malarkey, Robert Gossett, & Sarah Dumont.
