Tonight is the series premiere of Instinct on CBS at 8/7c. The show stars Alan Cumming (The Good Wife) as a former CIA operative who is lured back to his old life when the NYPD needs his help to stop a serial killer. Dr. Dylan Reinhart is a gifted author and university professor living a quiet life teaching psychopathic behavior to packed classes of adoring students. But when tenacious top NYPD detective Lizzie Needham (Bojana Novakovic) appeals to him to help her catch a serial murderer who is using Dylan’s first book as a tutorial, Dylan is compelled by the case and comes out of retirement. Helping them is Julian Cousins (Naveen Andrews, Lost, Once Upon a Time in Wonderland, Sense8), Dylan’s invaluable CIA comrade who rivals Dylan in brilliance and wit and can get top-secret dirt on anyone, anywhere, anytime. Lizzie’s boss & best friend, Lt. Jasmine Gooden (Sharon Leal, Hellcats, Guilty, Recovery Road), is glad to see her best detective finally agree to work with someone on a case, since Lizzie has refused any partner since a tragic event one year ago. But as Dylan feels reenergized tapping into his old skill set, his husband, Andy (Daniel Ings, Lovesick), is concerned that Dylan’s breaking their pact about putting away his cloak and dagger for good. Though Dylan and Lizzie initially clash, when it comes to catching killers, they realize they will make an ideal team if they both trust their instincts. Based on the James Patterson novel.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Genius Junior on NBC at 9/8c. Neil Patrick Harris hosts this exciting new game show, which celebrates the brightest children in America. In each episode, two teams go head to head in a series of rapid-fire quizzes that test competitors’ abilities in math, spelling, and complex memorization. The winning team gets to take on the “The Cortex,” the ultimate test of all-around smarts.

Over the course of 10 weeks, survival expert Bear Grylls and his new show will feature 10 lucky participants who will each accompany him on individual, unique, and exciting journeys. Whether getting a taste of the wild for the first time or trying to prove to their families they can keep up with the best, participants will share their own inspiring, humorous, and heart-warming stories as Bear pushes them out of their comfort zones and teaches them how the wild can be not only eye-opening, but also ultimately empowering.

When the initial judgement is overturned due to a technicality, Collins is left a free man and soon finds himself facing a new investigation that unveils dark secrets of abuse, affairs and money troubles. As a web of lies unmasks new potential suspects, fragile relationships are ripped apart at the seams, but one question remains: is David Collins truly innocent? The show also stars Adrian Rawlins, Angel Coulby (Merlin, Undercover), Daniel Ryan, & Hermoine Norris (MI-5).

Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of Station 19 on ABC at 9/8c. From Shonda Rhimes, the show follows a group of heroic firefighters at Seattle Fire Station 19 — from captain to newest recruit — as they risk their lives and hearts both in the line of duty and off the clock. These brave men and women are like family, literally and figuratively, and together they put their own lives in jeopardy as first responders to save the lives of others. The series stars Jaina Lee Ortiz (Rosewood) as Andy Herrera, Jason George (Grey’s Anatomy, Off the Map, Eli Stone) as Ben Warren, Grey Damon (Aquarius, The Nine Lives of Chloe King, Star-Crossed, Twisted) as Jack Gibson, Barrett Doss as Victoria Hughes, Alberto Frezza as Ryan Tanner, Jay Hayden (The Catch) as Travis Montgomery, Okieriete Onaodowan as Dean Miller, Danielle Savre as Maya Bishop, and Miguel Sandoval (Medium, Dirk Gently’s Holistic Detective Agency) as Captain Pruitt Herrera.

Tonight is also the entire first season premiere of Requiem on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. What if you want to find out who you really are…but you don’t like the answer? In 1994 a toddler disappears from a small Welsh town, never to be seen again. Twenty-three years later, talented young cellist Matilda, played by Lydia Wilson (Star Trek Beyond, About Time), has her life turned upside down by her mother’s inexplicable suicide. In the wake of the tragedy Matilda begins to question everything she thought she knew about herself, embarking on a quest that leads her to that Welsh village — a place haunted by its own past, where the secrets she uncovers threaten to unravel her very identity. A taut psychological thriller with subtle supernatural undertones, Requiem avoids giving easy answers, playing instead on uncertainty and ambiguity while interrogating our contemporary obsession with personal identity. Matilda is joined on her journey to discover the truth by loyal best friend Hal (Joel Fry, You, Me and the Apocalypse) and Nick (James Freecheville), another stranger in town who may not be all that he seems. It also stars Brendan Coyle, Clare Rushbrook, Dyfan Dwyfor, Ifan Huw Thomas, Joanna Scanlan, Richard Harrington, Sian Reese Williams, & Tara Fitzgerald.

Ncis LA is episode 15, not 13 for this week.

Your site is awesome. It is the reason I never miss my favorite shows.

Thanks for the time put into this site.

    • Jenny says:

Thank you for the compliment! 🙂

According to my sources, this episode was labeled episode 13, not 15. The episodes are labeled (I believe) in the order they are filmed and sometimes the networks air them out of order (not in this case, but just sayin…) so it doesn’t always match up. 🙂

    • Dan says:

Sometimes the 1 or 2 hour special affects the number, but Jenny is correct because it makes sense to go through order number.
