Tonight is the series premiere of Charmed on The CW at 9/8c. “Stronger together.” That’s what Marisol tells her daughters, firebrand social justice warrior Melanie “Mel” Vera, and her sister, fun-loving Maggie, about their family. Mel is a graduate student in the women’s studies department her mother heads at Hilltowne University; Maggie is a freshman considering rushing a sorority (to Mel’s amused dismay) and going “on” again with her on-again off-again boyfriend Brian. But then, a shocking tragedy shatters their world and threatens their sibling bond: Marisol dies in a horrifying accident. Or was it? Three months later, we find Mel unable to accept the official explanation of their mother’s death, while Maggie accuses her of being morbidly obsessed. And then, another huge shock shows up at their front door: they have an older sister, brilliant geneticist Macy, whom their mother kept a secret all these years! Macy is new in town and doesn’t know a soul (except for Galvin, the cute fellow scientist who’s been showing her around). Macy is eager to connect with Mel and Maggie, but Mel can’t handle another shock, and shuts her out. With the emotions of all three sisters running high, each of the girls suddenly exhibit impossible new abilities: Mel can freeze time, Maggie starts hearing others’ thoughts, and Macy has telekinetic powers. But don’t worry, there’s a perfectly reasonable explanation…or so says Harry Greenwood (who as far as they know is the officious new chair of the women’s studies department), when he gathers the three sisters together to reveal they’re actually powerful witches, as was their mother. And he’s not really a professor, he’s their “Whitelighter,” a witch’s advisor and guide! Not only that, but Mel was right: their mother’s death was no accident – she was murdered by unknown dark forces. It’s a lot to take in, but ultimately the sisters accept their new destiny as the Charmed Ones…and their new duty to protect humankind from the demons that walk among us…one of whom killed their mother. With the Power of Three, they are stronger together…even if they have no idea what they’re really up against. Starring Melonie Diaz, Sarah Jeffery, Madeleine Mantock, Rupert Evans, Ser’Darius Blaine, Charlie Gillespie, and Ellen Tamaki.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Camping on HBO at 10/9c. Starring Jennifer Garner and David Tennant, this eight-episode series tells the story of a back-to-nature camping trip that quickly becomes a weekend of tested marriages and woman-on-woman crime that won’t soon be forgotten.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Alec Baldwin Show on ABC at 10:01/9:01c. Alec Baldwin stars in a brand-new, primetime talk show bringing his unfiltered, provocative interview style to television. The show gives viewers a front-row seat to in-depth, intimate and candid one-on-one conversations as Alec, a prolific entertainer and quick-witted personality, sits down with some of the most compelling celebrities and cultural icons of our time. Alec’s distinctive interview style and extraordinary ability to draw out never-before-told personal stories, coupled with a newsworthy roster of guests, make for a captivating hour of television each week.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Eli Roth’s History of Horror on AMC at 12:11AM/11:11PMc. The show brings together the masters of horror — icons and stars who define the genre — to explore its biggest themes and reveal the inspirations and struggles behind its past and present. Each one-hour episode will take viewers on a chilling exploration of how horror has evolved through the eras and impacted society, as well as why loyal fans remain addicted to fear. The series features A-list storytellers including Stephen King, Quentin Tarantino, Jordan Peele, Jason Blum, Robert Englund, Linda Blair, Tippi Hedren, Rob Zombie, Haley Joel Osment, Jack Black, John Landis and Jamie Lee Curtis, among many others.

Tonight is the series premiere of The Conners on ABC at 8/7c. An offshoot of Roseanne minus titular character Roseanne Barr, the show stars the rest of the cast from the original. A sudden turn of events forces the Conners to face daily struggles in a way they never have before.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Kids are Alright on ABC at 8:31/7:31c. Set in the 1970s, this ensemble comedy follows a traditional Irish-Catholic family, the Clearys, as they navigate big and small changes during one of America’s most turbulent decades. In a working-class neighborhood outside Los Angeles, Mike and Peggy raise eight boisterous boys who live out their days with little supervision. The household is turned upside down when oldest son Lawrence returns home and announces he’s quitting the seminary to go off and “save the world.” Times are changing and this family will never be the same. There are 10 people, three bedrooms, one bathroom and everyone in it for themselves. The show stars Michael Cudlitz (Southland, The Walking Dead) as Mike and Mary McCormak (In Plain Sight, Loaded) as Peggy, as well as Andy Walken (Ralphie Parker on FOX’s A Christmas Story), Caleb Martin Foote, Christopher Paul Richards (Justin in 1991 on Me, Myself & I), Jack Gore (The Michael J. Fox Show), Sam Straley, Santino Barnard, & Sawyer Barth (Home).

Tonight is also the series premiere of Hustle in Brooklyn on BET at 10/9c. The show explores the social and professional lives of some of Brooklyn’s most sought after and influential personalities, from up-and-coming hip-hop artists to internationally known DJs to one of RocNation’s protégé’s.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Rookie on ABC at 10/9c. Starting over isn’t easy, especially for small-town guy John Nolan (Nathan Fillion, Castle, Firefly) who, after a life-altering incident, is pursuing his dream of being an LAPD officer. As the force’s oldest rookie, he’s met with skepticism from some higher-ups who see him as just a walking midlife crisis. If he can’t keep up with the young cops and the criminals, he’ll be risking lives including his own. But if he can use his life experience, determination and sense of humor to give him an edge, he may just become a success in this new chapter of his life. The show also stars Alyssa Diaz (Zoo, Army Wives, The Nine Lives of Chloe King), Richard T. Jones (Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, The List, Boston’s Finest, Santa Clarita Diet), Afton Williamson (Banshee, The Breaks), Eric Winter (Rosewood, Witches of East End, The Mentalist, Days of Our Lives), Melissa O’Neil (Dark Matter), Mercedes Mason (Fear the Walking Dead, White City, 666 Park Avenue, The Finder), & Titus Makin.

Tonight is the series premiere of Get a Room with Carson & Thom on Bravo at 9/8c. Former Bravo Queer Eye favorites Carson Kressley and Thom Filicia have joined forces to form a dynamic design duo. Their expert skills are put to use revamping hum drum spaces while reminding viewers that the best accent piece is the pair’s signature endearing charm. Carson and Thom are here to help fight the uniformity and ubiquity of American home design with a new business venture in Get a Room with Carson & Thom. Carson has been bitten by the decor bug, and he’s looking to his interior designer buddy, Thom, to take him under his wing and teach him the design trade from soup to nuts. Each episode will feature two clients looking to transform a space. Some have big budgets and some small, but they’re all trying to create a beautiful room that is unique to them. With Carson’s fashion sense and bold personality and Thom’s designer acumen and friendliness, the bodacious besties will create breathtaking and affordable redesigns. Two small corrections— Lore is on Amazon, not Netflix, and Making a Murderer comes out of Friday, not Thursday (albeit, early enough to be considered Thursday night by most).

Love the site, thanks for your hard work!!

Oops. Fixing the Amazon/Netflix mix-up now. Thanks! 🙂

As for the Thursday/Friday thing, I always put them on Thursday since they come out BEFORE I put up the Friday schedule. 🙂 Everyone should understand that 3am means late Thursday/early Friday, not early Thursday, since it’s at the end of the Time list. 😉
