Tonight is the series premiere of Deadly Cults on Oxygen at 8/7c. The show is comprised of four hour-long episodes that explore unhinged murder cases where investigators uncover and expose the dark world of cults that kill. From a self-proclaimed prophet convincing his followers to murder an innocent family to a vampire coven searching for their next sacrifice, the series shows how power and manipulation can lead to murder.

Tonight is also the series premiere of America’s Lost Vikings on Science Channel at 10/9c. The Vikings are amongst the most feared warriors and ruthless raiders in history. They are also at the center of an incredible mystery. There is evidence that Norseman landed on the coast of North America 500 years before Christopher Columbus. Beyond this, however, the trail goes cold. Now archaeologists and explorers Blue Nelson and Mike Arbuthnot will embark on their biggest ever adventure — to find out how far the Vikings explored into America. To solve this mystery, Blue and Mike will use a combination of state-of-the-art science as well as gripping hands-on experimental archaeology. Blue and Mike begin their mission in L’Anse aux meadows in Newfoundland, on the north east coast of Canada. This settlement is proof the Vikings were here around the year 1000. But the purpose of the site is still unknown – Blue and Mike aim to solve that mystery and discover where the Vikings explored next. As they follow the trail of evidence south, they go to extreme lengths to discover how the Viking explorers survived. To put their theories to the test, they plunge themselves into freezing temperatures to test Viking clothing, row a specially constructed Norse boat through icy waters, and learn to fight with Viking weapons. It’s a journey that pushes them to their physical limits and beyond — and ultimately takes them further across America than they ever imagined.

Tonight is the series premiere of Boomerang on BET at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. This is a reboot of the 1992 American romantic comedy film, in which a successful executive finds that his lifestyle choices have turned back on him when his new boss turns out to be a bigger deviant than he is. This updated version explores contemporary workplace dynamics, including the changing role of gender, office politics, relationships, and the conflicts between Generation X and Millennials. It stars Brittany Inge, Joey BadA$$, Kimberly Hall, Lala Milan, Leland B. Martin, Paula Newsome, R.J. Walker, Tequan Richmond, & Tetona Jackson.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Miracle Workers on TBS at 10:30/9:30c. Based on Simon Rich’s book, What in God’s Name, this seven-episode limited series turns the perception of heaven on its head while also making the case that humans are worth saving. Daniel Radcliffe and Steve Buscemi executive produce and star alongside Karan Soni (Deadpool) and Geraldine Viswanathan (Blockers). Radcliffe plays Craig, a low-level angel responsible for handling all of humanity’s prayers. Buscemi plays Craig’s boss, God, who has pretty much checked out to focus on petty hobbies. To prevent Earth’s destruction, Craig and fellow angel Eliza (Geraldine Viswanathan) must answer a seemingly impossible prayer: help two humans, Laura and Sam (played by Sasha Compere and Jon Bass), fall in love. Guest stars Tituss Burgess, Margaret Cho, Angela Kinsey, Tim Meadows, John Reynolds, Lolly Adefope and Chris Parnell will also appear throughout the season.

Tonight is also the complete first series premiere of Weird City on YouTube at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. From the mind of Jordan Peele and Charlie Sanders comes Weird City, a satirical anthology set in the not-too-distant future metropolis of Weird. In this dystopian setting of our show, the middle class has completely vanished dividing Weird City into two sections: Above the Line (The Haves) and Below the Line (The Have Nots). Presiding over the denizens of the city is the strange and mysterious Dr. Negari, who weaves all of our stories together. Each episode is a topic that pertains to present day life in America and the world: social media addiction, online dating, fitness obsession, etc. Weird City captures the unease of modern urban living, in a bizarre and peculiar lens. The all-star list of special appearances includes Sara Gilbert (The Conners, The Talk), Dylan O’Brien (Maze Runner Franchise, Teen Wolf), Ed O’Neill (Modern Family), Rosario Dawson (Luke Cage), Michael Cera (Arrested Development, Superbad), Laverne Cox (Orange Is The New Black), and LeVar Burton (Star Trek) along with Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, Ocean’s Eight), Yvette Nicole Brown (Community), Auli’i Cravalho (Moana), Trevor Jackson (grown-ish, Superfly), Steven Yeun (The Walking Dead, Sorry To Bother You), Eugene Cordero (Kong: Skull Island), Gillian Jacobs (Community, Love), Hannah Simone (New Girl), Malcolm Barrett (Timeless, Preacher), and Mark Hamill (Star Wars).

Tonight is the series premiere of Doom Patrol on DC Universe at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. This is a re-imagining of one of DC’s most beloved groups of outcast Super Heroes: Robotman, Negative Man, Elasti-Girl and Crazy Jane, led by modern-day mad scientist Dr. Niles Caulder (The Chief). The Doom Patrol’s members each suffered horrible accidents that gave them superhuman abilities — but also left them scarred and disfigured. Traumatized and downtrodden, the team found purpose through The Chief, who brought them together to investigate the weirdest phenomena in existence — and to protect Earth from what they find. Part support group, part Super Hero team, the Doom Patrol is a band of super-powered freaks who fight for a world that wants nothing to do with them. Picking up after the events of Titans, Doom Patrol will find these reluctant heroes in a place they never expected to be, called to action by none other than Cyborg, who comes to them with a mission hard to refuse, but with a warning that is hard to ignore: their lives will never, ever be the same.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Larry Charles’ Dangerous World of Comedy on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. Follow Larry Charles, the director of Bruno and Borat, as he travels around the world to find comedy in unlikeliest of places. From the U.S., Iraq, and Nigeria to Somalia and Saudia Arabia, we discover the rich comedy cultures thriving in dangerous places around the world and the people keeping it alive despite difficult circumstances. In this 4-part series, we see how people use comedy and laughter to overcome some of the most difficult circumstances and issues in unexpected places around the world.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Lorena on Amazon at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. From Executive Producer Jordan Peele, this four-part docuseries investigates the events of 1993, where Lorena Bobbitt sliced off her husband’s penis after years of abuse. John and Lorena Bobbitt’s stories exploded into a 24-hour news cycle. She became a national joke, her suffering ignored by the male-dominated press. But as John spiraled downward, Lorena found strength in the scars of her ordeal.

Finally, tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Umbrella Academy on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. On the same day in 1989, forty-three infants are inexplicably born to random, unconnected women who showed no signs of pregnancy the day before. Seven are adopted by Sir Reginald Hargreeves, a billionaire industrialist, who creates The Umbrella Academy and prepares his “children” to save the world. But not everything went according to plan. In their teenage years, the family fractured and the team disbanded. Now, the six surviving thirty-something members reunite upon the news of Hargreeves’ passing. Luther, Diego, Allison, Klaus, Vanya and Number Five work together to solve a mystery surrounding their father’s death. But the estranged family once again begins to come apart due to their divergent personalities and abilities, not to mention the imminent threat of a global apocalypse.
