Tonight is the series premiere of Dirty Mudder Truckers on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Chuck Davis, Chris Ledford and Matt Steele founded ‘Trucks Gone Wild’ in 2005 with small bogging and truck pull down events in the Central Florida area. These events have evolved into fierce, thrilling competitions with the baddest drivers and trucks out there. In this all-new series, the Dirty 7 – a crew of top racers in Central Florida – get down and dirty in The Pit facing challengers from around the country and pushing their machines to the limit.

Tonight is also the series premiere of the miniseries The Hot Zone on National Geographic Channel (NGC) at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10/9c. From executive producer Ridley Scott, The Hot Zone, based on the eponymous international best-seller by Richard Preston, recounts the terrifying true story of the origins of the Ebola virus, a highly infectious deadly virus from the central African rain forest, and its first arrival on U.S. soil. In 1989, when this killer suddenly appeared in chimpanzees in a scientific lab in the suburbs of Washington, D.C., there was no known cure. A heroic U.S. Army veterinarian working with a secret military SWAT team put herself in mortal peril when she tried to head off the outbreak before it spread to the human population. The Hot Zone is a dramatic, hair-raising account of a rare and lethal virus and its impact on the human race. The miniseries stars Julianna Margulies (The Good Wife, ER), Noah Emmerich (The Americans), Robert Sean Leonard (House), James D’Arcy (Marvel’s Agent Carter), Topher Grace (That 70s Show), Liam Cunningham (Game of Thrones), Nick Searcy (Easy Money, Justified), Paul James (Greek, The Path), & Robert Wisdom (Happy Town).

Tonight is the series premiere of Guardians of the Glades on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Florida has a snake problem – and snake hunter Dusty Crum has assembled the team to tackle it. The Everglades, considered the largest subtropical wilderness in the US, is a wetland paradise in the southern tip of Florida that is home to hundreds of unique species of wildlife. Once brimming with an abundance of life, today this swampy utopia and the native wildlife who call it home, is in grave danger. There is a new predator in town – the Burmese Python – which has already decimated more than 90 percent of certain mammal and bird species in parts of the Everglades. Now, one man has made it his life’s calling — and business — to save the Glades from these foreign predators and total destruction.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Songland on NBC at 10:01/9:01c. The series provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity for talented up-and-coming songwriters to be exposed to and mentored by three music producers per episode who are responsible for today’s biggest hits. The panel of producer-songwriters includes Ryan Tedder (lead singer of OneRepublic and Grammy Award-winning producer of Adele, Beyoncé, and Taylor Swift), Ester Dean (Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer of Rihanna, Katy Perry, and Nicki Minaj), and Shane McAnally (Grammy-winning songwriter and producer of Kacey Musgraves, Kelly Clarkson, and Sam Hunt with 38 #1 country records). The series takes an inside look at the creative process and provides one winner per episode the opportunity to have their song recorded for a global audience by the chart-topping guest recording artists featured in their show.
