Tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of The Movies on CNN at 9/8c. The new six-part CNN Original Series explores American cinema through the decades and the cultural, societal and political shifts that framed its evolution. Combining archival footage and interviews with leading actors, directors, producers, critics and historians, the series showcases the most pivotal moments in film that have stirred the imagination and influenced our culture. The series features interviews with Paul Thomas Anderson, Alec Baldwin, Ellen Burstyn, Tim Burton, Cameron Crowe, Billy Crystal, Robert De Niro, Jon Favreau, Antoine Fuqua, Morgan Freeman, Bill Hader, Tom Hanks, Amy Heckerling, Ron Howard, Holly Hunter, Angelica Huston, Baz Luhrmann, Julianne Moore, Ed Norton, Rob Reiner, Molly Ringwald, Julia Roberts, Maya Rudolph, Ridley Scott, John Singleton, Steven Spielberg, Sharon Stone, Robert Zemeckis and many more.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Murder in the Thirst on BET at 9/8c. Hosted by LisaRaye, the show explores scandalous and shocking true-crime stories. With stylized recreations of the crimes themselves and interviews with the real-life players involved, the show explores what pushes someone to murder.

Tonight is also the series premiere of A Year in Music on AXS TV at 9/8. With a diverse set of hosts from all facets of music and pop culture, A Year in Music examines each year from a unique perspective. Not only does the show dive into the year’s biggest band albums, breakups and breakthroughs, but also the political and social relevance of the time. Each episode puts the year’s relevance in a bigger context of its overall effect on music.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Out There with Jack Randall on Nat Geo WILD at 10/9c. At just six years old, Jack Randall fell in love with snakes while he was watching a TV special on Venezuelan anacondas half a world away from his home in England. Studying invertebrates obsessively ever since, Jack left his home in England at only age 14 to apprentice for his hero Steve Irwin, promising Steve on his 15th birthday that he’d be a steward for wildlife for the rest of his life. Today, with a biological sciences degree from University of Oxford under his belt, Jack is making good on his pact with Steve, inspiring fellow animal lovers with his work in the field. The six-part series premiering on National Geographic WILD follows Jack in the Australian outback as he fearlessly searches for exotic, endangered and iconic species in some of the most unforgiving environments on the planet. In this adrenaline-filled series, Jack literally goes to the ends of the Earth to go nose to nose with nature’s creepy crawlies and wild beasts. He dives into crocodile-infested swamps, crawls through cramped caves laden with bats to find a rare 12-ft python and experiences a fair share of bites from ‘grumpy’ wild animals along the way.

Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Love Island on CBS at 8/7c. The show begins as a group of single “Islanders” come together in a stunning villa in Fiji, ready to embark on a summer of love, friendships and, ultimately, relationships. Every few days the Islanders must couple-up – those who fail to find a partner to couple up with risk being dumped from the island. Islanders are on the lookout for romance, but the road to love doesn’t always run smoothly. Challenges abound with new Islander arrivals and dramatic twists as friendships and relationships form. In addition to choosing their partners wisely, Islanders must also win the hearts of viewers who have the opportunity to shape events on screen and ultimately crown one lucky couple the winner, who will then have the chance to walk away with both love and the cash prize. The show is hosted by Arielle Vandenberg.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Disappearance on WGN America at 10/9c. The six-part summer event starring Emmy(R) winner Peter Coyote (The 4400, Law & Order: LA), Camille Sullivan (The Man in the High Castle), and Aden Young (Rectify) centers around the unexplained and sudden disappearance of a 10-year-old boy, and the investigation that leaves a devastating and unforeseen impact on every member of the family. When Henry Sullivan (Peter Coyote) organizes a treasure hunt for his grandson Anthony’s (Michael Riendeau) tenth birthday, things take a turn for the worse when Anthony unexpectedly goes missing. The series follows Luke Sullivan (Aden Young) and Helen Murphy Sullivan (Camille Sullivan) as they delve into the all-consuming investigation of what happened to their son on that harrowing day. As the Sullivans and their extended kin grapple with the inexplicable mystery, deep familial secrets become uncovered and threaten to shatter the family unit.

Tonight is also the series premiere of The Next Big Thing on BET at 10/9c. This is a music competition series that follows 12 contestants as they participate in an immersive artist development bootcamp. The last two finalists will get a chance to audition in front of four major record labels and possibly sign a deal. The judging panel is comprised of Tina Davis, Dame Dash and Zaytoven, and guest mentors include Tamar Braxton and Lil’ Kim.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Bring the Funny on NBC at 10:01/9:01c. For decades NBC has opened the door for countless comedians and continues to carry the legacy as a home for comedy with the launch of its new competition show, Bring the Funny. Forty comedic acts will be vying for the $250,000 prize package and the opportunity to perform at the 2020 Just for Laughs Festival. Bring the Funny is hosted by comedian Amanda Seales, along with its panel of hilarious judges: Saturday Night Live’s longest-running cast member Kenan Thompson, cultural tastemaker Chrissy Teigen, and comedy icon Jeff Foxworthy. The series, which pays homage to every style of comedy performance in one competition, features stand-ups, sketch troupes and comedic variety acts, including solo comics, musicians, magicians, puppeteers, YouTubers and more that will perform in front of a live audience. The series is divided into four rounds of competition: Open Mic, Comedy Clash and Showcase, culminating in a live finale where America will have the chance to vote for who they think is the funniest of the funny.

Overnight last night at 3:01AM/2:01AMc, Netflix put up part 1 of the new series, Family Reunion. Tia Mowry plays Cocoa McKellan, a free spirited mother from Seattle. When she and her former football-playing husband Moz (Anthony Alabi) and their four children travel from their home in the big city to the small town of Columbus, Georgia for the McKellan Family Reunion, they get to know an extended family they didn’t even realize they were missing. Loretta Devine plays the loving but strict matriarch of the family, M’Dear. It also stars Cameron J. “CJ” Wright, Isaiah Russell-Bailey, Jordyn James, & Talia Jackson.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Florida Girls on POP at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. Fronted by an all female cast, the show stars series creator Laura Chinn (The Mick) alongside Laci Mosley (The Wedding Year), Melanie Field (Heathers), and Patty Guggenheim (Splitting Up Together, LA to Vegas). Inspired by Chinn’s real-life struggle growing up on the West Coast of Florida, the 10-episode series follows four women who are forced to confront their stagnant lives when their only ambitious friend moves away to follow her dreams. Bound by their friendship, they will attempt to navigate life’s curveballs while living below the poverty line.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Marrying Millions on Lifetime at 10/9c. From the creators of 90 Day Fiancé, the new series follows the relationships where one partner is incredibly wealthy, and the other is definitively not, leading the couple to face intense scrutiny and questioning whether it’s true love…or true love of the money and the lavish lifestyles that follow? The show follows six couples who are deeply in love and hoping to marry, but come from completely different worlds. Regular people are whisked off their feet and plunged into a high-end life of riches, extravagant experiences, and glamorous trips around the globe. While it may sound like a modern-day fairytale, it’s definitely not all champagne and caviar. On the road to the altar, the couples must try to bridge their vast differences and fit into each other’s alien worlds. Ten one-hour episodes have been ordered.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of The Strongest Man in History on History Channel at 10/9c. HISTORY’s new nonfiction series The Strongest Man In History, will send four of the world’s leading strongmen on a journey across the world to seek out history’s most legendary titans of strength, celebrate their feats of fortitude, immerse themselves in their history, and attempt to break their long-standing records, some of which have endured for hundreds of years. Powerful strongmen will attempt insane acts of physicality including pulling a Viking war ship, strapping pianos on their back as they race down a street, rolling up frying pans with their bare hands and lifting 2,700lbs of people. Created in 1977, The World’s Strongest Man(TM) competition has become the premier event in strength athletics. Who better to guide viewers through this journey than four-time World’s Strongest Man 2011, 2013, 2015 and 2016 champion Brian Shaw; winner of World’s Strongest Man 2017 and current world-record deadlift holder Eddie Hall; two-time finalist in the World’s Strongest Man 2013 and 2018 Robert Oberst and professional strongman competitor and world champion powerlifter Nick Best? These strongmen, who have spent the last decade dominating their sport, will travel to a different destination each week tackling the renowned accounts of heroic achievement that have transcended time. Since many of the incredible feats of strength our heroes will be challenging happened before video existed, official registers were kept and weights were verified, they often take matters into their own experienced hands as they determine if these superhuman acts are really fact or fiction. Competing against past legends and each other in dangerous strength tests, they will take on historical giants including Viking warriors, Olympic gold medalist and world champion weightlifter Paul Anderson, “Apollo, the Scottish Hercules” William Bankier and “Giant of the Revolution” Peter Francisco to name a few.

Overnight last night at 3:01AM/2:01AMc, Netflix premiered the entire first season of Blown Away. Ten master artists turn up the heat in glassblowing sculpture challenges for the chance to win $60,000 in prizes and the title of champion.

Overnight last night at 3:01AM/2:01AMc, Netflix also premiered the entire first season of Extreme Engagement. An engaged couple from Australia travels the world for a year to explore marriage customs in diverse cultures. Will the journey bring them closer or tear them apart?

Overnight last night at 3:01AM/2:01AMc, MotorTrend.com and the MotorTrend app premiered the first episode of Fastest Cars in the Dirty South. Deep in the southern U.S. nitrous fueled engines roar as daredevil drivers race down closed tracks at speeds topping 140 miles per hour. Here in the hard driving world of grudge racing, teams of drivers, fabricators and mechanics contend for bragging rights and large amounts of cold hard cash. One unique racer, Eric Malone, and his expert team dominate the “big engine” sport. So much so that they’ve set a new standard in the grudge racing game – they’ll not only win your money but will do it by beating your fastest car using your slowest car. The show gives viewers an inside look at the unique world of grudge racing. Every episode follows Malone, his partner Brant Arnold and their team – Team 256 – as they compete in grudge races across the south. Malone’s Team 256 is a fast, fearsome group of drivers, fabricators and top mechanics. They race so fast that teams from across the region avoid them whenever possible out of fear of losing. Malone has changed the grudge racing game to attract worthy competitors. Now he takes the slowest car from another team, upgrades it and then races their opponents with their very own cars. Viewers get an inside look at every step of Team 256’s grudge racing process – from the high-stakes betting and negotiations to car customizations and the intensity and speed of race day.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Shangri-La on Showtime at 9/8c. A collaboration from Academy Award(R) and Emmy(R) winner Morgan Neville, legendary music producer Rick Rubin, and director Jeff Malmberg…with Rubin’s iconic studio in Malibu as the backdrop, this is a four-part docu-series that focuses on creative conversation and the emotional side of music-making. Neville directed the first two episodes of the series, and the final two are directed by Malmberg. All four episodes will be available immediately tonight on the Showtime and Showtime Anytime apps or you can view a new episode each week on Showtime itself.

  1. Jay says:

This site is full of fake information… The ignorance of the Mary Sue who runs this site is insane… People like her are the problem with the world. Just because she is Ignorant to a situation and can’t stand being wrong, she pushes her false ignorance as truth and facts. Thus making the children of the next generation Ignorant and Dumb because they think that things which are fake and false are right and true, when it can all be solved by people like “her” just admitting that they are and can be wrong sometimes, and not getting over emotional and vindictive when told they are wrong. She should not be allowed to work with the public whatsoever until she goes back to school and actually learns the truth instead of arguing her ignorance to the death…thanks byee!

What the fuck are you talking about?

      • Jenny says:

When Burden of Proof premiered on The CW, of course I posted it. Jay commented that it wasn’t new, that it had finished airing months ago. I replied to their comment and said I checked several sources, including The CW’s own website, and it was indeed new, that they might have been thinking a different show. The next week, they commented again, and I double checked all my sources, including The CW and Google, and I again replied to their comment. Apparently The CW is airing the show as new in the US when it previously aired (and has finished airing) in Canada. I replied and told Jay that.

All of my comments have been on the site, so you can see exactly what I told Jay. Then last week, Jay commented with a rather hateful comment, saying “this site is full of false information about its air dates, and when presented with the factual data of the truth, she called me a liar and bad person for reasons i can only assume, because she didn’t give me any..? #truthmatters” I deleted that comment because there was no point in leaving it up and no point in replying when Jay hasn’t responded to any of my previous comments and nothing they said was true.

That brings us to today’s comment, which I’m leaving up because I find it so amusing. 🙂
