If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/23/12

We’re mid way through the week, and we’re still talking about all of the massive season finales that are still going on. Break ups, shake ups, deaths, laughs, and drama have all captivated viewers this season no matter what show you were tuning in to. As we grow closer to the end of the week, chatter will continue to blaze about what did or didn’t happen on our favorite shows. Take time to reflect on this season’s finales and settle in for another bumpy road tonight as you bid farewell or say so long for now to more of your fall must-see TV programs. It was a wild ride, and we’re already looking forward to the next one and what it has in store for fans!

The culmination of a fiery season is upon us, and you know the season finale is going to be off the charts smoking tonight! Last week on Revenge, a painful loss of Jack’s dog Sam brought a stronger bond between Jack and Emily. Victoria formed a new alliance that potentially sealed Conrad’s fate. Also, after a tug of war between her parents during a therapy session, Charlotte sought comfort from Declan. However, when she found him in the company of another girl, she began her vendetta against him. Emily came close to fulfilling her promise of killing the man with the white hair for her father’s death with help from Nolan. Unfortunately, when the last few minutes of the episode aired, we found the man with the white hair had the upper hand – and his mitts on Nolan.

On the season finale, “Reckoning,” with the end in sight, Emily pushes forward fearlessly as she closes in on the final phases of her plan for revenge. The Graysons continue their downward spiral into the rabbit hole of self-destruction. Also, a massive and explosive event leaves much hanging in the balance as courses are altered and even more becomes left in question.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/22/12

Summer is definitely here! It was the long weekend for Victoria Day in Canada this past weekend, and the temperatures were hot and the sun was shining. Hopefully you all have as much great weather for your long weekend. Tonight is slower than last week, but there’s still a few major finales on tonight, so see what we think you should be watching.

Glee has had a really solid season in my opinion, and I loved last week’s episodes. The character growth has been amazing, and I really like how far Rachel has come not to be as self-centered. The New Directions winning Nationals was far overdue, and I loved seeing Will get teacher of the year. The way that Coach Beiste finally left her husband was long overdue, but again, it’s so easy for people to say “she should have left sooner,” when they aren’t living her life.

On tonight’s season finale, “Goodbye,” graduation is finally here as McKinley High’s Class of 2012 looks to the past and present while contemplating the future. Gloria Estefan guest stars.

To see some of our favorite students graduate, tune in to FOX at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Glee @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching American Idol and The L.A. Complex.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/20/12

It’s the start of a new week and really…it’s SO much slower this week than we’ve had in awhile. You’ll notice as we go through the week that not everyone is posting every day, and that’s simply because there isn’t always something we all want to watch/recommend on! Megan is getting a break tonight, but she’ll be back tomorrow. There are still a few things on, though, so check out our recs!

Last week’s premiere of Food Network Star was so different and so cool. I loved having the three teams of contestants each coached/mentored by a different master chef/personality. I liked so many of the contestants that I can’t name which team I’m rooting for yet. It’s a close race so far! This is a very different way to do the show, and so far, I think it’s working well. I’m hoping that continues tonight with the second episode.

On tonight’s episode, “NYC on the Go,” after the finalists are divided into three separate teams, they are given tours of various New York City neighborhoods, where they learn about the local landmarks and food. The contestants prepare a dish inspired by their New York district.

Don’t miss the 90-minute new episode tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Food Network Star @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing Cupcake Wars, Jesse Stone: Benefit of the Doubt, & the series premiere of Mystery Diners on Food Network.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/18/12

It’s been kind of a long week for me, so I’m VERY glad it’s Friday! What about you? On a positive note, the networks have all come out with trailers and/or clips for most of their new pilots and some of them look AMAZING. There are others that…well, not so much, but I’m excited for a good number of them! We’ll be watching the screeners as they become available to us and will post our thoughts on the pilots themselves, so keep an eye out! For now, check out what we think you should be watching tonight. :)

In what was a surprising move for most viewers, I think, The CW renewed Nikita for next season. I was thrilled because I love this show. It’s been ramping up to tonight’s season finale, and I can’t wait. On last week’s episode, the gang figured out Percy’s weapon, and the President bowed down to Percy’s demands. Nikita had to sneak into Division alone when they discovered the ladder in the silo was gone. Of course things didn’t go smoothly, and when Division guards rushed to where the team was gathered, Nikita told Michael to go ahead and detonate the motherboards they had been after. He had no choice but to do it, not knowing whether or not Nikita was clear of them. Also, Sean and Alex were in a shoot out with Division Alpha team, so we don’t know the fate of either of those two, either. Of course we know that Nikita can’t die…but can the show go on if Sean or Alex are killed? Sure. It wouldn’t be nearly as good, in my opinion, but it could… Eek! I hope it won’t have to!

On tonight’s season finale, “Homecoming,” Nikita and Michael invade Division in an attempt to capture Percy. Alex and Sean get caught in a deadly gunfire battle with the U.S. Marines, and Ryan must convince the President of the United States not to destroy Division until he is sure Nikita and Michael are safely out of the building, but the President is eager to end Percy’s reign. Meanwhile, Birkhoff asks Sonya for help, and Nikita corners Percy in his office, but he pulls out one final trick that may cost her the battle.

Gear up for an exciting finale tonight on The CW at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Nikita @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’m also going to be watching/DVRing Grimm & Common Law.

Last week, the study group on Community found themselves trapped! When Abed became convinced that Dean Pelton was an imposter, he was required to see a therapist (guest star John Hodgman). Turned out that the therapist wasn’t real; he was just someone Chang hired in order to keep the cover up about Dean Pelton quiet. The group held together and the therapist ran off, leaving Chang still in charge. The group knows what they must do next: save Dean Pelton!

Tonight, there are three new episodes of Community!

At 8/7c, on “Digital Estate Planning,” Gilbert Lawson (guest star Giancarlo Esposito), the former right hand man to Pierce’s father, requests a meeting with Pierce at Hawthorne Enterprises. Also, the study group puts their plan into action by pitching in to help save Dean Pelton. Then at 9/8c, on “The First Chang Dynasty,” the group devises a plan to infiltrate Greendale’s Chang-controlled college campus while Troy turns to the Air Conditioning Repair Annex for some assistance. Finally, at 9:30/8:30c, on “Introduction to Finality,” Shirley and Piece’s disagreement over their sandwich shop leads Jeff to butting heads with Alan (Rob Corddry), his former colleague, in Greendale Summer Fun Court. Meanwhile, Vice Dean Laybourne (guest star John Goodman) makes his final attempt to win over Troy and lure him into studying at the Air Conditioning Repair Annex.

Tonight, I am also watching 30 Rock and Kathy!
