Tonight is the series premiere of Frozen Planet on Discovery Channel at 8/7c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9/8c. Narrated by Alec Baldwin (30 Rock), the show will provide the ultimate portrait of our earth’s polar regions, where the scale and beauty of the scenery and sheer power of the natural elements are unlike anywhere else on the planet. To capture nature’s majestic power – as well as its ultimate fragility – filmmakers utilized the latest cinematographic techniques and technology to capture groundbreaking imagery both above and below the ice in some of the most extreme and remote regions of our planet. The series’ seventh episode, hosted on camera by British naturalist David Attenborough, will investigate what rising temperatures will mean for the people and wildlife that live there – and for the rest of the planet.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Unchained Reaction on Discovery Channel at 10/9c. Executive produced and judged by Adam Savage and Jamie Hyneman of MythBusters, the show is a new six-part series that pits two teams of varying backgrounds against each other to build an elaborate chain reaction contraption.

Click here for series premiere information

Tonight is the series premiere of Bent on NBC at 9/8c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 9:30/8:30c. The show is a romantic comedy about a womanizing, surfer dude contractor and his beautiful, no-nonsense, type-A client, who work together to remodel each other’s lives as they renovate her Venice, California home. On the surface, Alex (Amanda Peet, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip) and Pete (David Walton, Perfect Couples) could not be more different. The recently divorced Alex is a hard-working, high-strung lawyer who is raising her 10-year-old daughter, Charlie (Joey King), as a single mom following her husband’s incarceration for insider trading. Unwilling to let anything get in her way, she downsizes into a smaller house and hires the charismatic Pete, a free-spirited ladies man and recovering gambling addict who desperately needs this gig with Alex to jumpstart his life – and prove that he is no longer a screw-up. Upon hiring him, Alex quickly realizes that she has met her match in Pete, who – along with his motley construction crew – will not only tear apart her kitchen, but also transform her worldview in the process. Adding to the charm of Alex’s family life is her wild younger sister, Screwsie (Margo Harshman), who unfortunately for Alex, seems to be cut from the same reckless cloth as Pete. Meanwhile, Pete’s home life includes his narcissistic, live-in father, Walt (Jeffrey Tambor, Arrested Development), a perpetually unemployed actor who still yearns to get back in the game.

Tonight is also the 1-hour series premiere of Couples Therapy on VH1 at 9/8c. Relationships are hard enough, but imagine the pressure of having your hook ups, “bumps” on the relationship road, and breakups as fodder for the tabloids. More and more it seems, couples whose matters of the heart play out in the public eye are calling it quits and throwing in the towel on their relationships. Why is it so tough for these couples to stay together? Looking to shed light on the issue, VH1 will examine the complicated and often misunderstood world of high-profile relationships. DMX (Rapper) & Tashera Simmons, Linda Hogan (Hogan Knows Best) & Charlie Hill, Chris Nirschel (The Next Food Network Star) & Angelina Pivarnick (Jersey Shore), Kasey Kahl (The Bachelorette) & Vienna Girardi (The Bachelor), and Reichen Lehmkuhl & Rodiney Santiago (The A-List: New York) will all take a seat on Dr Jenn Berman’s couch.

Tonight is also the series premiere of Duck Dynasty on A&E at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. A&E introduces the Robertsons, a Louisiana bayou family living the American dream as they operate a thriving business while staying true to their family values and lifestyle. Ask anyone in Louisiana, and they’ll tell you that the bayou state’s favorite first family doesn’t live in the governor’s mansion but in the backwoods, where the Robertsons’ rags-to-riches story is still unfolding. A homegrown mom-and-pop operation, Duck Commander has become a sporting empire by fabricating top-of-the-line duck calls and decoys out of salvaged swamp wood. This newly minted multimillionaire family is kept in line by business-savvy Willie, who runs Duck Commander with the help of his brother Jase, their respective wives Korie and Missy, patriarch and founder of the company, Phil, and uncle Si. Together they run a booming business that employs half their neighborhood, but at the end of the day, you can find the whole family around matriarch Miss Kay’s dinner table. Each episode brings a new set of challenges, met with a special brand of Southern know-how and a down-home sense of humor.

Finally, tonight is also the series premiere of House of Consignment on VH1 at 10/9c, followed by a 2nd new episode at 10:30/9:30c. This new reality series features Chicago entrepreneur and fashion maven, Corri McFadden, and her mission to improve the way women shop. By working with high-end clients at her sleek, Lincoln Park retail store, eDrop-Off, Corri’s consignment business turns luxury brand items into profit. What began as Corri’s senior project in fashion design school has turned her into a young, successful business woman and owner of a booming multi-million dollar company. Watch as Corri and her team of twenty-something fashionistas change the face of the consignment world on a daily basis. The show follows Corri’s consignment empire as she gathers fashion items and accessories from the likes of Hermes to Chanel to Louis Vuitton. The secret is Corri’s ability to spot the authentic brands and foresees the resale value in her clients’ closets. Through an open auction platform on ebay, shoppers place bids on exclusive, couture items that will sell at top dollar in the ultimate fashion recycle.
