If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/21/12

It’s the start of another great week in television, and while I’m pumped for all the new episodes of our favorites, I’m getting a little sick of the presidential debates interfering with the schedule. Yes, I do realize how self-centred that sounds, but honestly, it’s getting a little old—is it time to vote yet? (Note—I won’t be voting, as I’m Canadian; however, you should!) Enough chit-chat. Let’s get to us bossing you around as to what you should be watching.

The must-see show for ABC this fall has to be 666 Park Avenue, which never fails to cause the hair on my neck to rise from the creepy factor. I’m loving the fact that this season is sprinkled with tons of new twists on dramas, because let’s be honest, there are only so many different takes on crime solving or medical dramas. Last week’s episode had me actually wanting to watch with the lights on. Seriously, how creepy was that whole thing with the little girl? Brrr… Spine chills all over again.

On tonight’s episode, “Hero Complex,” Henry learns that Gavin is under investigation for questionable real-estate transactions and must choose between loyalty to his boss or his friendship with Gavin. Meanwhile, Jane discovers the identity of the thief at the Drake.

To have your weekly fix of terror, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of 666 Park Avenue @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Walking Dead, Once Upon a Time, The Amazing Race, Outback Hunters, and Cupcake Wars.

I am awed every week when I watch Halloween Wars. The craftsmanship is simply stunning, and the teams are creative beyond belief. I love watching it because there are so many ups and downs every episode—whether it’s sugar breaking, a pumpkin falling, or the creation turns out to be so much more incredible than anyone expected.

On tonight’s episode, “Science Gone Wrong,” three remaining teams made up of a pumpkin carving expert, cake artist, and candy craftsman must capture the terrifying moment when a mad scientist’s creation goes horribly wrong. At the end, one team will be eliminated.

See the amazing work tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Halloween Wars @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Funniest Home Videos, Cupcake Wars, The Amazing Race, & The Mentalist.

Homeland has been great so far this season. I was practically yelling at my TV a couple weeks ago when I saw Brody invited into the Pentagon to watch the takedown of Abu Nazir—I knew he would do something to mess it up! And last week was another tense episode! First, Saul was searched and his SD card with the video of Brody’s confession was confiscated–or so we thought. (I’m not sure why he didn’t just email it before he left Lebanon as another precaution!) Meanwhile, Brody was tasked with bringing the tailor to the safe house, but things took a turn for the worse, and he was forced to kill him and deal with the body in the pouring rain. This meant that Jessica was left to give a speech at a charity event on her own. Afterwards, it looked like she was about to invite Mike in to rekindle their relationship, but Brody got home in the nick of time to prevent that. Finally, Carrie downed a bunch of pills but had a change of heart and quickly vomited them back out.

They keep ratcheting things up with each episode this season—I don’t know how this show could get any more tense! Now that Saul has the video, who is he going to show it to? Will they just let Brody stay where he is, unaware of their knowledge, and try to use him to trap Nazir? Will this video help Carrie get reinstated? I can’t wait to see where they go with this next!

In tonight’s episode, “New Car Smell,” Estes green-lights a covert mission based on intelligence gleaned from Beirut and picks his own trusted operative to lead it; and Brody is shocked to bump into Carrie at Langley. Meanwhile, Dana and the vice president’s son appear to have something in common.

Don’t miss all the drama tonight on Showtime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Homeland @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Once Upon a Time, Revenge, 666 Park Avenue, The Walking Dead, The Talking Dead, and Dexter.

Last week, we saw the return of The Walking Dead to huge ratings, and the episode was all kinds of cool. Last season ended with a shot of the prison, and last week, our group found it. Seeing them clear out the prison’s courtyard was all kinds of cool, and some of the walkers were a nice creative touch (the gas-mask walker!). But the mood in the group was very tense, so I’m curious to see how that develops. And seeing Michonne taking out some walkers with her blade was nice, but Andrea wasn’t looking that healthy.

On tonight’s episode, “Sick,” the life of one of the group is put in jeopardy, leaving the rest to do everything they can in order to keep an accident from escalating into a tragic event. The survivors deal with an immediate danger threatening their new surroundings.

See who lives and who might die tonight on AMC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Walking Dead @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching Revenge and Once Upon a Time.
