We’re halfway through the week, and I just have to say… Megan complained about Easter stuff being out in the stores already, but geez louise! It’s January, and we already got enrollment stuff for next year for my kid. And of course, that made me realize he will be a freakin’ sophomore next year. So to drown my sorrow at how fast he’s growing up, I plan to immerse myself in new television. Check out what we think you should be watching tonight to help you out if you need to do the same. ;)
Last week’s The Neighbors was one of my favorites so far. The Weaver family all caught a bad cold. They were pretty pitiful—and pretty typical of what you think when a family gets sick at the same time. I loved that Jackie sneaked out to help them. Then when the rest of the aliens chipped in, it was too fun. And then, of course, there was Reggie Jackson, who put together the more adorable care package for Amber and took it into her room for her. She was her normal, teenage, bitchy self…until she couldn’t help but show how pleased it made her. Finally, when Larry Bird showed up to help, you had to smile. This show is the perfect example of funny combined with heart. I love it.
On tonight’s episode, “Dream Weavers,” when the Weavers and Bird-Kersees chaperone Amber and Reggie’s school dance, Marty, Debbie, Larry, and Jackie find themselves in their own “high school” dramas. Debbie’s attempt to re-create a romantic moment from her courtship with Marty backfires, and Jackie is so fascinated with how Marty and Debbie met in high school, she believes the moment she met Larry was boring by comparison—so she tries to change history.

Last week’s Criminal Minds took us on an emotional rollercoaster, and I am still reeling from it. We finally saw Reid and his sweet Maeve come face to face, and for a bit there, it looked hopeful that Reid would finally get his happy ending. Unfortunately, she was shot in the head in front of him. Fans everywhere wept for his loss, as did I. Such a tragic story line and an even more shocking ending. *sigh* I really hope that Reid will eventually find love that he gets to keep because everyone deserves that.
On this week’s episode, “Magnum Opus,” the team investigates when bodies are discovered in San Francisco’s Mission District; Reid copes with a personal loss.

I’ll also be watching CSI and American Horror Story.
Tonight is the series finale of American Horror Story: Asylum, although only the season finale of American Horror Story itself. Last week, Kit’s wife murdered Grace and spent the rest of her life in Briarcliff. When Kit went to claim the body, he noticed that Sister Jude was still alive—but had gone crazy. Lana had written a book about her kidnapping by Bloody Face, but Kit was upset that she wasn’t focusing her efforts on taking down Briarcliff—he also told her the truth about Sister Jude. Meanwhile, a 48-year-old Johnny was looking for his mother Lana so he could kill her, finishing his father’s work and proving her to be a liar.
This season of American Horror Story has been insane (no pun intended)—from alien abductions to possessions, to monsters, serial killers who wear human skin suits, and angels of death. I have no idea what to expect in tonight’s finale, but I’m sure it will be crazy. They’ve set the bar so high this season that I have no idea how they will top it next year!
On tonight’s episode, “Madness Ends,” Johnny aims to complete his father’s work in the second-season finale. Meanwhile, Lana attempts to shut down Briarcliff.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording Criminal Minds, CSI, The Middle, The Neighbors, Modern Family, Suburgatory, Nashville, Arrow, Supernatural, Top Chef, Bobby’s Dinner Battle, Ripper Street, Workaholics, and Kroll Show.
The family on Modern Family got a little bigger last week, and it was so cool and sweet. Gloria attempting to hold the baby, the sounds Jay were making and Claire focusing on Gloria’s body after the birth, all comedy gold. And the new baby is such a fun addition to the family (uncle? nephew? brother?).
On tonight’s episode, “Fulgencio,” Gloria’s Colombian family shows up for the newborn, bringing a lot of traditions, names, and baggage, and Mitchell and Cameron try to mind their Ps and Qs because they have to set a good example for Lily, who picked up some bad habits.
See if they manage to do so on ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Modern Family @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching American Idol, Arrow, Suburgatory, Hot in Cleveland, Happily Divorced, and Love You, Mean It with Whitney Cummings.
