If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/29/13

For some reason, Monday dragged by. I’m ready to put my feet up and watch some great TV, of which there’s plenty tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching. :)

ncis129smallThe last new episode of NCIS was pretty heartbreaking. It was the aftermath of the deaths of Vance’s wife and Ziva’s father. Tony just about had me swooning as he tried to take care of Ziva…inviting her grandfather to stay with him because she would be there and he knew she needed the support, even if she said otherwise. I honestly expected Tony to show up on the plane back to Israel, but he wasn’t. In my opinion, that would have been the perfect way to cap that off. And then, of course, there was the murder (that I totally called) of the other guy from Iran (Kazmi) as his transport went boom on the way to the airfield or wherever. I love Oded Fehr, but man, oh man, his character Ilan Bodner is a bad guy!

I’m looking forward to tonight’s episode because we get to see a young Abby and learn more about her past. I absolutely adore her, so this is exciting for me and should be a lot of fun.

On tonight’s episode, “Hit and Run,” the NCIS team investigates a marine’s car accident and ignites some upsetting past memories for Abby as a young girl on the trail of her first “case.”

See if Abby’s always been, well…Abby tonight on CBS at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS @ Clicker.

ncisla129smallNCIS: LA is one of those shows that make watching TV easy. I enjoy the way I don’t miss much week to week and any underlying story is gently carried throughout the season. There are times I don’t want some deep, twisted story line on a TV show—I just want to watch an hour of TV and unwind. This is the show for that. The cast is sexy, the stories are well-written, there’s stuff being blown up and shot, and there’s even a decent dose of humor. Will Kenzie and Deeks ever hook up? Who is Callen? Etc, etc, etc. All of these questions are minuet and don’t really dictate how we enjoy this fabulous show week to week.

We love the characters, we love the show, but at the end of the day, it’s a delicious crime drama that gives me exactly what I need—escape from reality without much thinking.

On tonight’s episode, “The Chosen One,” Callen must infiltrate a network of Chechen terrorists who are recruiting fighters to join their cause as they plan their next attack on the US.

To get lost in some good drama, tune into CBS at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching NCIS, The Taste, Hart of Dixie, Emily Owens, M.D., Go On, New Girl, and The Mindy Project.

happyendings129asmallLast week, ABC pulled Don’t Trust the B— in Apt 23 from their schedule and will instead be airing back-to-back episodes of Happy Endings every Tuesday night. While I’m thrilled to get double the Happy Endings each week, I’m sad that Apt 23 is left with unaired episodes. Happy Endings is always so hilarious and smartly written—it’s a consistently funny show that I can always rely on to make me laugh. I’m a little worried that ABC is burning it off like this. I hope at the very least we get to see all of the remaining 12 episodes, but I would love to see the ratings pick up so that we have many more seasons to look forward to!

happyendings129bsmallOn tonight’s first episode, “The Marry Prankster,” when the gang pranks Max into believing he won a lottery jackpot, he swears to exact revenge on them when they least expect it. Meanwhile, Penny suspects Pete has big plans for them; and Jane learns that Brad’s new job is all fun and games after he lands a position at a kids’ gym.

Then, on “Our Best Friend’s Wedding,” in order to get Pete to change his mind about eloping with Penny, wannabe matrimonial coordinator Jane spirits the whole gang to a wedding exposition. Once there, Max and Brad wind up at a gay-marriage part of the expo, while Alex and Dave contemplate their own commitment issues.

Long along with me tonight on ABC at 9/8c & 9:30/8:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Happy Endings @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/recording Go On, The New Normal, Raising Hope, New Girl, The Mindy Project, Hart of Dixie, Emily Owens, M.D., Justified, Chopped, Cougar Town, Face Off, Total Blackout, and The Joe Schmo Show.

raisinghope129asmallLast week’s Raising Hope was SO freakin’ hysterical. The bachelor & bachelorette parties, Frank’s jealousy over Sabrina & Jimmy’s relationship…it all combined to be an outrageously funny episode. And because FOX pulled Ben and Kate, we get two new episodes this week. It’s been two and a half seasons of Jimmy/Sabrina fans wishing and hoping the two would get together and then enjoying the two of them in a relationship. Tonight, that relationship moves to another level as the two of them gear up to get married. Yay!

raisinghope129bsmallOn tonight’s first episode, “Modern Wedding,” the wedding day is finally here, and Sabrina’s mom has hired the camera crew from Modern Family to capture the whole blessed event. But a series of catastrophes threatens to ruin the day, including a battle between Maw Maw and Reverend Bob (guest star Leslie Jordan). So Burt and Virginia scramble to save the ceremony and keep Jimmy and Sabrina in ignorant, matrimonial bliss.

Then, on “Yo Zappa Do Part 1,” as a wedding gift, Barney offers to fly Jimmy and Sabrina to Los Angeles for a taping of “Yo Zappa Do,” Hope’s favorite show. But due to Jimmy’s fear of flying, the entire family embarks on a road trip instead. Meanwhile, Burt and Virginia agree to take in Ricardo (guest star Wilmer Valderrama) as a house guest, but he soon wears out his welcome.

See both episodes tonight on FOX at 8/7c & 8:30/7:30c. Learn where to find episodes online of Raising Hope @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Taste, Happy Endings, NCIS: LA, The New Normal, Chopped, Total Blackout, Cougar Town, & Justified.
