Earlier this week was the San Diego Comic-Con hotel lottery—the mad dash to submit your hotel picks as fast as humanly possible, followed by a week of stress while you wait to find out if you were lucky enough to get assigned a close hotel (or ANY hotel, for that matter). Fortunately, I’ve been able to keep my mind off that as all of the great new TV this week has been keeping me busy. While it’s a somewhat light-night of TV tonight now that February sweeps is pretty much done, there’s still quite a few shows to choose from.
Archer has been really great this season, so I was thrilled to see yesterday’s news that the series has been picked up for a fifth season! Last week, Ray, Cyril, and Archer’s Jeep got stuck in the Turkmenistan desert. Having forgotten to pack toilet paper, Archer, of course, decided to use their only map. While he was doing his deed, Sterling was bitten in the groin by a rattlesnake. The venom caused Archer to have a series of hallucinations in which English actor James Mason showed him “The Real Archer.” We got glimpses into Archer’s younger days—such as how his collegiate and professional lacrosse dreams were crushed when an older woman seduced and shot him. And during another one of his fever dreams, Sterling was just about to discover who his real father was when he was jerked back into reality by the anti-venom.
While last week was a fun (and bizarre) Archer origin story, it also brought back the series-long mystery of the identity of Archer’s father. I suspect this is a question that won’t be answered until the series finale (if at all). It was great last week to see Cheryl calling Lana out for that fact she has only been staying with ISIS because she wants to take over when Mallory dies. This show is so much fun, and it always shocks me what they are able to get away with. I can’t wait to see what the ISIS gang gets up to tonight!
On tonight’s episode, “Live and Let Dine,” Anthony Bourdain guest stars when Archer, Lana, and Cyril go on an undercover mission in a celebrity chef’s kitchen.
To see all the fun, tune in to FX at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Archer @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching/recording Zero Hour, Community, 1600 Penn, Legit, and King of the Nerds.

Last week’s King of the Nerds was amazing. The teams had to make up their own nerd anthems, and while most of them weren’t at all good singers or dancers, the anthems were BRILLIANT. Both were catchy, but I think the judges made the right decision. But it really was a close one. I was really glad to see Virgil go home, although Genevieve has been getting on my nerves… I have a feeling Celeste might be too far out of her depth this week, which is a shame since I really like her, but I guess we’ll see! We’re only two episodes from the end, including tonight’s. I can’t wait to see who is finally crowned King (Queen?) of the Nerds! And thank goodness it’s been renewed for season 2!
On tonight’s episode, “Enginerds,” the laws of physics—as well as some broken glass—decide which nerd is safe from exile in this week’s Nerd War, and it comes as a surprise to all. To determine the final four contestants, one last Nerd-Off tests the nerds and the structural integrity of their engineering wonders. Chef Richard Blais guest stars.
See whose engineering skills aren’t up to par tonight on TBS at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of King of the Nerds @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chef Wanted with Anne Burrell & Zero Hour.
Last week’s Community continued with Abed’s obsession with Inspector Spacetime, and it was great, especially having Abed trapped in a booth with everyone being able to hear him. Matt Lucas was great as an insane and possessive “British Abed,” while Troy was feeling troubled over handling both his boyfriend Abed and girlfriend Britta. And Annie throwing a drink in Jeff’s face to continue the big lie she had spun for herself was hilarious.
On tonight’s episode, “Alternative History of the German Invasion,” the group begins European History class together with the arrogant German students who Jeff and Shirley faced over the foosball table, while Chang makes his return to campus much to Dean Pelton’s dismay.
Find out how the Dean handles it on NBC at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of Community @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching American Idol and Project Runway.
