It’s the start of another week…the first one in March. It’s hard to believe we’re already on our third month of 2013. Crazy! Time is really flying. Part of that is because we’ve had some great TV on, and really, tonight is no exception. We have a couple of different choices this week, so check out our brilliance! 😉
Jenny’s Choice #1
Tonight is the series premiere for the mini-series The Bible, brought to TV by executive producers (& husband & wife) Mark Burnett (of The Voice, Survivor, The Amazing Race, and a whole slew of other reality shows fame) and Roma Downey (the title character of Touched by an Angel). From HISTORY, this “epic 10-part miniseries retells stories from the Scriptures for a whole new generation. Breathtaking in scope and scale, The Bible features powerful performances, exotic locales, and dazzling visual effects that breathe spectacular life into the dramatic tales of faith and courage from Genesis through Revelation. This historic television event is sure to entertain and inspire the whole family.”
I saw an interview with Mark & Roma, and they’ve been working on the show for over four years in preparation. One of their kids, I believe, told them specifically to make sure the special effects don’t suck. LOL When I first saw the promo for this, I knew it was something my family & I were going to have to sit down and watch together. We aren’t religious people—meaning we don’t go to church like we know we should—but we are believers—and we wish we weren’t as lazy so we could have our son in church…so hopefully this will keep him engaged and help him to learn more about the most important stories in the bible.
On tonight’s episode, “In the Beginning/Exodus,” powerfully dramatic re-enactments and engaging cinematography depict God’s wrath on sin by flooding Earth, Abraham proving his faith in God, and Moses leading the Israelites on their escape from Egypt and delivering the Ten Commandments.
See the beautiful and dramatic two-hour premiere tonight on the History Channel at 8/7c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Bible @ Clicker.

I was a little hesitant at first when I heard about Vikings, because at times, these shows are hit and miss with their quality—after seeing a few clips and reading a lot about it, I am excited for the series premiere tonight. The previews have shown a strong cast and an intense plot line, which means that it’ll be one of those shows that’s impossible to turn away from.
Vikings follows the adventures of Ragnar Lothbrok the greatest hero of his age. The series tells the sagas of Ragnar’s band of Viking brothers and his family, as he rises to become King of the Viking tribes. As well as being a fearless warrior, Ragnar embodies the Norse traditions of devotion to the gods. Legend has it that he was a direct descendant of Odin, the god of war and warriors.
On tonight’s premiere, “Rites of Passage,” Ragnar Lothbrok dreams of finding riches by bucking the tradition of raiding the east.
To see if you fall in love with this new show, tune in to the History Channel at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Vikings @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching The Amazing Race, The Bible, and Red Widow.
This season of The Walking Dead has been spectacular!! Moving between Woodbury and the prison is so much more interesting than the second blah-season on the farm. And Carl is such a cool kid, especially with all that is happening in his family. For now, I’m mostly interested in Andrea, The Governor, and the upcoming war between Woodbury and the prison, but it will be interesting to see how the rest of the show develops.
On tonight’s episode, “Clear,” the survivors at the prison are forced to find a way to withstand the maliciuosness of The Governor, so Rick leads a party on a run to find more weapons in the hopes of evening up the odds and ensuring their survival against a superior foe.
To see if Rick & crew can overpower the opposition, tune in to AMC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Walking Dead @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching Once Upon a Time and House of Lies.

Another premiere tonight that I’m looking forward to is Red Widow on ABC. It’s about a stay-at-home mom in California whose husband is an exporter of marijuana. When he’s killed, she’s forced into working for a very bad man to try to protect herself and her children. The show comes from the screenwriter for The Twilight Saga (not the WRITER, as ABC keeps announcing on their promos. lol) and Dexter, Melissa Rosenberg and stars Radha Mitchell, Sterling Beaumon (young Ben on Lost), Clifton Collins Jr. (The Event), Luke Goss, Suleka Mathew (HawthoRNe, Men in Trees), Erin Moriarty, Jaime Ray Newman (Eureka, Drop Dead Diva, Eastwick), Jakob Salvati, Lee Tergesen (Generation Kill), Wil Traval, Rade Serbedzija, and Goran Visnjic (ER).
On tonight’s episode, “Pilot; The Contract,” stay-at-home mom Marta Walravan’s life changes drastically after her husband is murdered, as she must now take on his responsibility under the thumb of crime boss Schiller, who she believes will let her go if she successfully completes his task.
To see if Marta can play with the big league bad guys, tune in to the 2-hour premiere on ABC at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Red Widow @ Clicker.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing America’s Funniest Home Videos, Cupcake Wars, Worst Cooks in America, Iron Chef America, The Mentalist, & Vikings.
