I can’t believe Comic-Con is only a week away and I feel so unprepared! The panel schedules were announced last weekend, and there are so many great shows that conflict—not unlike the primetime TV schedule! To help you resolve your own TV scheduling conflicts, we’ve got some suggestions on what you should check out tonight.
Tonight, USA premieres their own camp series, Summer Camp, an 8-week reality competition series (not to be confused with NBC’s new scripted series Camp, which premiered last night). In this series, 16 men and women are sent back to summer camp to relive their youth. The campers are split into two teams—men versus women—that will compete against one another in contests inspired by classic camp games. The team that loses each competition must send two of its members to the other camp, where the winning team will decide which of the pair will be sent packing. In the end, the winning team will split the $250K prize among its remaining members.
It looks like they have really tried to cover all the archetypes when building these teams. The girls camp consists of the Country Girl, the Geek, the Model, the Pageant Queen, the Bayou Bodybuilder, the Yogi, the Mean Girl, and the Flirt—while the guys camp is made up of the Smart Ass, the Hunter, the Class Clown, the Broadway Performer, the Sci-Fi Nerd, the Cowboy, the Soldier, and the Firefighter. This could be a fun twist on the usual reality competition series, and I’m looking forward to checking it out.
On tonight’s episode, “Welcome to Summer Camp,” the two camps clash as they come together for their first camp socail and compete in a canoeing Color War, in which the losing team has to banish two of its members to the opposing camp, which in turn has to decide which of the two leaves for good.
See which team rows their way to the winner’s circle tonight on USA Network at 8/7c.
I’ll also be watching/recording Sharknado, Big Brother, Rookie Blue, Hollywood Game Night, Hell’s Kitchen, Wilfred, The Hero, Burn Notice, Graceland, and The Graham Norton Show.

I’m SO excited about tonight’s premiere of Hollywood Game Night. I’m a big fan of the old gameshows featuring a bunch of celebrities (Match Game & Super Password are morning staples for me!), so when I heard about this show, I had to go find out more. Hosted by Jane Lynch, the show is based on the real-life game nights of creator Sean Hayes. Every week, ordinary people and celebrities gather for a great party. Then two teams made up of a civilian and celebrities compete in a series of outrageous games in order to win up to $25,000. Sounds like so much fun, and the list of celebrities (at least for this week…) is so good!
On tonight’s episode, “The One with the Friends,” two contestants engage in the ultimate pop-culture battle as they lead two teams of three, including Lisa Kudrow, Matthew Perry, Martin Short, Kristen Bell, Daniel Dae Kim, and Alyson Hannigan in a competition with the hope of winning $25,000.
Find out if this reminds you of the celebrity gameshows of old tonight on NBC at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching/DVRing Summer Camp, Burn Notice, Hell’s Kitchen, Motive, Sullivan & Son, & Graceland.
I am so glad that Rookie Blue is back with new episodes again, because it is still one of my favorite shows. The last episode, we watched as Andy worked out her differences with Officer Cruz (aka Sam’s new girlfriend). I don’t like Cruz at all, and I think she was a poor choice for Sam’s new girl, but I did like the tension between her and Andy. We also learned that the girl Dov hooked up with is actually Frank’s goddaughter, Chloe, who is also a police officer and has now joined the precinct. I like the partnership of those two and think it’s going to make for some interesting interactions.
On tonight’s episode, “The Kids are not Alright,” during a routine traffic stop, Gail and Andy find a teenage boy bound and gagged in the trunk of a car; Oliver, Chris, and Swarek track a gunman.
To see this dramatic episode, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.
I’ll also be watching Hell’s Kitchen, Wipeout, and Hollywood Game Night.
Time for another one of my silly picks, which you should know by now. Wipeout is one of the silliest shows I can only find the time to watch during the summer. This season, the new obstacles have been great fun, so it will be exciting what the contestant have to battle tonight.
On tonight’s episode, “The Ex Games,” contestants compete as teams together with their exes, only to encounter a twist at the end. And Chris Harrison will guest on this special edition.
See who wins the big money (and which couples might rekindle some lost love) on ABC at 8/7c.
