If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/29/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

parenthood129smallTonight, after 6 seasons, NBC finally closes the book on the story of the Braverman family with the series finale of Parenthood. Last week, Zeek decided he was not going to undergo the operation, so Sarah decided to move up the wedding so that her father could walk her down the aisle. Meanwhile, Amber went into labor and gave birth to her son, whom she (predictably) named Zeek; Kristina confronted Jasmine about guilting Adam into agreeing to rebuild the Luncheonette; and Joel moved back in with Julia, but getting things back to normal proved to be a bit of a struggle.

Get those tissues ready because tonight is the last we’ll see of the Bravermans, and since there’s a wedding involved, I expect we’ll see the extended family all return for this finale. What kind of closure will we get? Will Adam and Crosby resolve their differences and find a solution that would still let Crosby keep the Luncheonette while Adam pursues other interests (likely teaching at the new school)? It seems like Amber would be a good partner for Crosby, except that she doesn’t have any money to invest. Will Joel and Julia be successful in repairing their marriage? Will we get a glimpse into what lies in the future for all of the children? And will Zeek survive the night, or will this episode be “One Wedding and a Funeral”?

On tonight’s finale, “May God Bless and Keep You Always,” Sarah prepares for her special day. Meanwhile, Hank has big questions for Zeek and Drew; Amber adapts to motherhood; Julia and Joel get a phone call that prompts a crucial decision; and Kristina presents Adam with a plan for the future.

Don’t miss the final episode tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

tbbt129smallIt’s been three weeks since the last new episode of The Big Bang Theory, and that’s far too long in the middle of the freakin’ season! Last time, Amy and Penny complained about always having to do what Sheldon and Leonard wanted to do, so they were able to get the guys to agree to go shopping with them. Watching Leonard and Sheldon sitting in the department store, realizing there was no Wifi, and then playing a game without any pieces—so it was all in their heads—was one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while. Another thing I loved was seeing Raj taking Howard to temple when they were waiting for data to come in from a space probe he’d launched. Raj was just hysterical in his nerves and how he dealt with the man in the car next to him. It was so wrong but so funny.

On tonight’s episode, “The Anxiety Optimization,” in the hopes of achieving a scientific breakthrough, Sheldon invites his friends to challenge him. Meanwhile, Howard invents an embarrassing game about Raj. Laura Spencer guest stars.

See if Raj’s cheeks turn pink tonight on CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Backstrom (This is a must-watch, too, if for no other reason than to see Eddie McClintock, from Warehouse 13 as a guest star!), Chopped Canada, Two and a Half Men, The McCarthys, Beat Bobby Flay, & Duff Till Dawn.

wizardwars129smallTonight, Wizard Wars returns to Syfy for another six magical episodes. In each episode, two pairs of magicians are given three everyday objects which they must work into a magic routine. These performances are done before a live audience and judged by a panel of experts that includes Penn & Teller. The winning team then competes in a second round against two of the world-class “Wizards.”

What I like about this show is that you get to see how the magicians brainstorm their routine before you watch the amazing tricks and fun, entertaining performances. This year there’s also a segment where one of the Wizards shows viewers the secret behind a trick that you can do at home. For a great mix of magic and humor, tune in to this show!

If you missed any of the previous episodes, Syfy is airing a marathon of all 6 episodes this morning starting at 9:30am ET/PT.

On tonight’s episode, “Fire and Mice,” teams of magicians from Chicago and Las Vegas compete for the chance to face the Wizards. Props include tiki torches, a tennis racket and balls, and mice.

Be amazed when you watch tonight on Syfy at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, Grey’s Anatomy, How to Get Away With Murder, Backstrom, Archer, and Fortitude.
