THE COMEDIANS -- Pictured: (L-R) Josh Gad, Billy Crystal. CR: Ray Mickshaw/FXTonight, FX kicks off the new comedy The Comedians. Comedy legend Billy (Billy Crystal) is reluctantly paired with young up-and-comer Josh (Josh Gad, 1600 Penn, Book of Mormon) to costar in their own late night sketch comedy show. The Comedians is a faux-documentary of what goes on on and off set of The Billy & Josh Show as egos and a generation gap cause the two stars to always be at odds with one another.

The series also stars Stephanie Weir (MADTV), Matt Oberg (Onion News Network), Megan Ferguson (Love & Other Drugs), and comes from writers/executive producers Larry Charles (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Seinfeld), Matt Nix (Burn Notice), and Ben Wexler (Community, Arrested Development).

I am a big fan of Josh Gad and Billy Crystal’s past work, so I’m really excited to see how these two play off one another. From the ads, the series looks great — not only the show itself but also the sketches within the show within the show. The series also appears to have that same awkward sensibility of a show like Curb Your Enthusiasm, which I really enjoy. I can’t wait for tonight’s premiere!

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Billy Crystal and Josh Gad are reluctantly paired together for a sketch show on FX.

Check out two great comedians tonight on FX at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Big Bang Theory, The Odd Couple, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, and Dig.

bones49smallLast week on Bones, the death of a teacher hit home with Caroline because it was an organization she truly believed. The teacher worked at a low-income, inner-city school and really was making a difference in her students’ lives. Unfortunately, one of the other teachers involved in the program was in it solely for the money and recognition, and when she caught him cheating when grading tests, he killed her. It was very sad. On a lighter note, Brennan joined Twitter, which was hysterical because she was exactly like she is offline when she isn’t thinking about it: dry and boring and analytical. She kept tweeting links (and only links) to scientific studies and what not, and she was surprised that she wasn’t getting many followers. Then squintern Jessica stepped in and started tweeting for her, and her popularity went through the roof, so much that others had to step in and stop her! *laugh*

I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s a great one for Cam and Arastoo especially. It’s also another sad one, but it’ll have you scratching your head, trying to figure out who did it.

On tonight’s episode, “The Baker in the Bits,” the murder of an ex-convict leads the Jeffersonian team to a local bakery known to employ former felons to find out details of the victim’s past, where they learn the victim was involved in a botched robbery. Meanwhile, “squintern” Arastoo Vazirir must decide whether to return to Iran to visit his dying brother, which causes friction between him and Cam.

To see how the team solves the case and what happens between Cam and Arastoo, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, The Odd Couple, Backstrom, Chopped Canada, Beat Bobby Flay, & Lip Sync Battle.
