If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/5/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight! (Thanks for hanging in while we took a break. Spending a week in the hospital is a week too long! I’m glad to be home!)

ncisnola55smallLast week’s NCIS: NOLA was a shocker. Lasalle’s brother called him late one night, and when Lasalle and his girlfriend, Savannah, showed up to meet Cade, they discovered the body of Cade’s girlfriend in his trunk. He swore he didn’t do it, that he’d been set up, and eventually the team figured out that he’d indeed been set up and they caught they people responsible. That was sad in and of itself because it seems like Cade’s doing really well — he’s on his meds, going to a therapist, etc. I hope this doesn’t cause him to slip backwards. But the shocker was Baitfish was back…and at the very end of the episode, we saw him confront Savannah…and then there was a gunshot after a fade to black. Based on tonight’s episode description, I can only assume that he shot her and she’s dead. That really sucks because they were cute together and I don’t want Lasalle hurt. Then again, I love the chemistry he and the undercover DEA agent (I think?) have, so I guess this opens up that door.

On tonight’s episode, “How Much Pain Can You Take,” to send a message to Pride, Baitfish murders someone close to the NCIS team, prompting a citywide manhunt for the elusive criminal.

Find out who dies and if Pride and the team can catch Baitfish tonight on CBS at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing 19 Kids & Counting, Hell’s Kitchen, NCIS, iZombie, Undateable, Chicago Fire, Chopped, & Your Family or Mine.

hellskitchen2015smallHell’s Kitchen never ceases to amaze me with the level of drama and mistakes on the show with so-called professionals. On the last episode, there was a very intense team challenge that had the chefs cooking with exotic proteins, such as alligator. The ladies decided to drop Michelle’s dish when it came down to her and T’s alligator dishes, but that ended up being a mistake because the women lost. After the loss, Chef Ramsay asked to taste Michelle’s dish, and he along with the guest judges told Michelle she would have had a perfect score across the board, making the women the winners. Instead, the guys went off to a spa day while the girls did some deep cleaning and had to drink nasty protein shakes. After the men returned, Chef Ramsay called each of the chefs in for a one-on-one evaluation, as well as asking them who they thought the weakest on their teams were. After the evaluations were done, he informed the chefs that not everyone had the support of their team and that the chef from each team with the least support would face off against each other, with the loser going home. I wasn’t surprised at all when Christine was sent up for the women, because it’s apparent that her team has no faith in her, and honestly neither do I. For the men, it was Randy sent up, which again didn’t surprise me, but at least during the cook-off, the blue team was supporting Randy and encouraging him, whereas the red team barely said two words to Christine. In the end, it was Christine who was sent home, and I am totally okay with that decision!

On tonight’s episode, “8 Chefs Compete,” the Top 8 contestants compete to impress a high school homecoming committee with their Mardi Gras-inspired cuisine.

To watch the drama of homecoming unfold, tune in to FOX at 8/7c.

undateable55smallIt’s May Sweeps, and that means weddings, babies, deaths, celebrity guests, and many other programming stunts. While I don’t know if tonight’s episode of Undateable will have any of former, it is most certainly going for the latter. Tonight, Undatable is going live for both coasts, and I’m really looking forward to seeing what happens. It always adds a sense of danger and excitement when a show goes live — will something go wrong, will someone forget their lines, etc?

However, this show seems well-suited for the live format — the whole show pretty much just takes place in the one bar set anyway, and the cast is filled with talented comedians who are used to performing live. I hope that TBS makes both the east and west coast versions available for viewing, because I always find it interesting to see how they change things up slightly for each performance.

On tonight’s episode, “A Live Show Walks Into a Bar,” a music festival arrives, and both Danny and Justin woo a pretty backup singer (Victoria Justice) they met in a bar. Meanwhile, the gang tries to prevent Candace from going back to her old boyfriend. The episode is presented live.

See the live version of this great comedy tonight on NBC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Forever, New Girl, Weird Loners, The Flash, iZombie, Younger, Your Family or Mine, & Finding Carter.

choppedsmallnewIt’s not a secret that I love cooking competition shows, but one of my favorites is still Chopped, because no matter who the contestants are, you know that they are going to be confused by one or more of the insane basket ingredients. What makes the show even better right now is that they are having another celebrity chef tournament, where the winner gets $75,000 for their charity. I love watching these episodes, because honestly, the talent level is just incredible. Last episode, I was really hoping that the awesome Eric Greenspan would win, but in the end he was taken out in the dessert round by none other than Art Smith — who used to be a personal chef for Oprah. I’m looking forward to another episode tonight and to see who is going on to compete against Art in the finals.

On tonight’s episode, “All-Stars Tournament: Part 2,” the second group of All-Star chefs — Anne Burrell, Hung Huynh, Mary Sue Milliken, and Dale Talde — come out swinging for the fences with appetizer baskets containing a soup and a sour surprise. In the entree round, a cheesy party food must be matched with some expensive offal. The two star chefs who make it to the dessert round are challenged to make delicious dishes with a refreshing drink and some airy cookies.

Let’s see if the always fierce Anne Burrell can take out the other chefs or if there will again be a dark-horse winner tonight on Food Network at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching The Voice, Chicago Fire, Forever, New Girl, Weird Loners, iZombie, NCIS: NOLA, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, and NCIS.
