Tonight is the 90-minute series premiere of Fear the Walking Dead on AMC at 9/8c. This is a gritty drama that explores the onset of the undead apocalypse through the lens of a fractured family. Set in a city where people come to escape, shield secrets, and bury their pasts, a mysterious outbreak threatens to disrupt what little stability high school guidance counselor Madison Clark (Kim Dickens) and English teacher Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis) have managed to assemble. The everyday pressure of blending two families while dealing with resentful, escapist, and strung out children takes a back seat when society begins to break down. A forced evolution, a necessary survival of the fittest takes hold, and our dysfunctional family must either reinvent themselves or embrace their darker histories.

Tonight is the series premiere of Monica the Medium on ABC Family at 8/7c. The show provides a fascinating look at Monica, a junior at Penn State navigating friends, family, relationships – and the fact that she’s a medium and can talk to dead people. Her uncommon vocation provides an endless supply of emotional and engaging stories, with a unique millennial perspective.

Tonight is also the series premiere of My Fab 40th on Bravo at 10/9c. When it comes to over-the-top birthday parties, forty is the new sweet sixteen! From lavish venues to priceless gowns and custom cakes, these 39-year-olds are kicking off the next chapter of their life with a bang. Follow two former sorority sisters hell-bent on having their favorite band serenade them at their party; watch a formerly straight single dad attempt to unite his two worlds into a Hunger Games party theme; and enjoy the chaos that ensues when two hapless husbands try to pull off a double-surprise party for their suspicious wives. Marriage proposals, vow renewals, and even live “conscious uncoupling” are featured in this series that celebrates the milestone birthday and the journey to get there. Star-studded cameos include TV personality La La Anthony, actor Lorenzo Lamas, actress Nicole Eggert, and Reverend Al Sharpton.

Finally, tonight is the series premiere of Public Morals on TNT at 10/9c. The show takes viewers to the seedy, gritty streets and the bright, seductive lights of 1960s New York. This is a powerful, buzz-generating police drama from writer, director, executive producer and star Edward Burns (Saving Private Ryan, The Brothers McMullen, TNT’s Mob City). It also stars Michael Rapaport (Justified, Prison Break) and Elizabeth Masucci (The Americans, Inside Amy Schumer). The series centers on Terry Muldoon (Burns), an officer of the Public Morals Division, which investigates vice crimes in the city. Many of Muldoon’s fellow cops in the division walk a thin line between morality and crime as vice-related temptations threaten to snare even the best of officers, including Muldoon’s partner, Charlie Bullman (Rapoport). As Muldoon watches the Hells Kitchen streets where he grew up devoured by an escalating war within two factions of the Irish-American Mob, he becomes more determined than ever to fight back against the city’s dark underbelly so he can provide a safe place where he and his wife, Christine (Masucci), can raise their family.

From the comedy of Jerrod Carmichael and Nick Stoller (Neighbors) comes an irreverent sitcom inspired by Jerrod’s relationships with his say-anything, contrarian father, his therapist-in-training girlfriend, his ever-hustling brother and his mother who is always, always, always right with Jesus. Taking the next step and moving in together, Jerrod and his girlfriend, Maxine (Amber Stevens West), are your average young couple trying to make it in the city. They’re smart, motivated and looking to build a fulfilling life together. The only thing standing in their way is family. Tonight is the series premiere of Power & Ice on History Channel at 10/9c. The show introduces viewers to the brave men who maintain and build the remote and rugged Alaskan power grid. It follows three fiercely competitive line companies as they battle freezing temperatures, devastating storms and zero visibility to bring power to people whose lives depend on a constant flow of electricity. The highly skilled employees of Alaska Line Builders, Electric Power Constructors and City Electric will compete for the life-threatening big-money jobs found only in the 49th State. These men work in a dog-eat-dog world, but they get a charge from putting their lives on the line.

Tonight is also the complete first season premiere of Narcos on Netflix at 3:01AM/2:01AMc. The show chronicles the gripping real-life stories of the drug kingpins of the late 1980s and the corroborative efforts of law enforcement to meet them head on in brutal, bloody conflict. It details the conflicting forces — legal, political, police, military and civilian — that clash in an effort to control the world’s most powerful commodity: cocaine. The series re-partners creator and executive producer José Padilha (Elite Squad, RoboCop) with acclaimed Brazilian actor Wagner Moura (Elite Squad, Elysium) as a captivating Pablo Escobar alongside Boyd Holbrook (Gone Girl) and Pedro Pascal (Game of Thrones) as real-life DEA agents Steve Murphy and Javier Peña. The series also features powerful performances by Colombia’s Juan Pablo Raba (El corazón del océano), British theater star Joanna Christie (Once), Mexican sensation Stephanie Sigman (also seen later this year in the next “Bond” installment, Spectre), Colombian actor Manolo Cardona (Covert Affairs), Brazil’s renowned André Mattos (Elite Squad), beloved Puerto Rican actor Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), and the stunning Ana de la Reguera (Eastbound & Down, Nacho Libre) from Mexico.
