grandfathered929smallI’m excited for tonight’s premiere of Grandfathered on FOX. John Stamos is back on TV in the role of successful restaurateur and ladies’ man Jimmy Martino. He’s suave, handsome, and loves living the life of a popular bachelor…until a young man shows up out of the blue at his restaurant, claims he’s Jimmy’s son, and then introduces Jimmy to his daughter – Jimmy’s granddaughter – Edie. First Jimmy has to decide if he’ll actually let his son and granddaughter into his life, and then he has to learn how to become someone less selfish with a family.

I’ve seen tonight’s pilot and really enjoyed it. Stamos is a lot of fun (and still as sexy as ever), and Josh Peck is great as Gerald, Jimmy’s son. And I loved seeing Paget Brewster (from Criminal Minds) as Gerald’s mother.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” a successful bachelor named Jimmy is shocked when he finds out that not only does he have an adult son, but also a granddaughter.

Meet Jimmy, Gerald, & Edie tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, The Grinder, NCIS: NOLA, Chopped, Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, & Limitless.

thegrinder929smallTonight is the premiere of FOX’s hilarious new comedy The Grinder. Dean Sanderson, Jr. (Rob Lowe, Parks and Recreation) has played a lawyer on the hit TV drama “The Grinder” for the past 8 years. When his show comes to an end, Dean decides to return to his hometown of Boise, Idaho, where his younger brother Stewart (Fred Savage, The Wonder Years) and father (William Devane, 24: Live Another Day) reside. Stewart is an inexperienced trial lawyer who works for his father’s firm and would rather plea than have to argue a case. He has always lived in his brother’s shadow and isn’t too pleased when Dean decides that he should join the family business as well – I mean how different can playing a lawyer and being a lawyer actually be. If he can learn to get along with his brother, Stewart might just realize he could learn something from Dean. What he lacks in a license or degree, he makes up for in pure charisma.

The cast of characters also includes Stewart’s wife Debbie (Mary Elizabeth Ellis, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), their two kids, 15-year-old Lizzie (Hana Hayes, Bucket and Skinner’s Epic Adventures) and 13-year-old Ethan (Connor Kalopsis, Days of Our Lives), and co-worker Claire (Natalie Morales, Parks and Recreation).

I absolutely loved tonight’s premiere. This was possibly my favorite new comedy of the fall. It is so great to see Fred Savage back in front of the camera. His character feels like the classic awkward/annoyed TV and film characters he was so great at playing back in the 80s. And Rob Lowe is wonderful in his hilarious blindly narcissistic, can’t-do-anything-wrong guy role. The way these two play off one another is great. I also really enjoyed Kumail Nanjiani’s (Silicon Valley) guest appearance in tonight’s premiere.

See if you enjoy this new comedy tonight on FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Limitless, The Muppets, Fresh Off the Boat, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris, Grandfathered, Scream Queens, The Bastard Executioner, and Face Off.

thevoice2015smallThis season of The Voice has been off to an incredible start – the talent is fantastic so far. I love the coaching panel we have now with Gwen, Pharrell, Adam, and Blake. They are honestly the best group by far. I don’t miss Christina at all. Jordan Smith from the premiere episode has been my favorite audition…ever. Jordan’s tone is perfect, he’s adorable, and his message about accepting yourself is spot on. More Jordan, please.

On tonight’s episode, “The Blind Auditions Part 4,” the blind auditions continue and are held in front of a celebrity panel of musician coaches, including, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Gwen Stefani, and Pharrell Williams. The strongest vocalists from across the country compete to be selected by one of the coaches and fight for a chance to win the title of being named “The Voice.”

To see more of the fantastic blind auditions, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching The Grinder, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Grandfathered, Chopped, Scream Queens, Limitless, NCIS, NCIS: NOLA, and Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris.
