Kyle’s Choice

themiddle1118smallI always enjoy holiday-themed episodes of family sitcoms, and tonight, Thanksgiving comes to the ABC Wednesday comedy lineup in both The Middle and The Goldbergs. The Middle has had a Thanksgiving episode every season, and they’re not going to break that tradition this year. The Hecks’ past Thanksgiving adventures have included Brick getting lost in a corn maze, Mike reconciling with his brother, Frankie and her sister spending the holiday at their parents’ house, Marines joining the Hecks for the meal, and a surprise visit from Dr. Goodwin and Uncle Rusty’s wife and kids. And last year, the Hecks headed to a restaurant buffet for the holiday, where Sue, Brick, and Axl all brought dates – though Axl’s date was a girl he didn’t even know.

So what does the holiday hold for the Hecks this year? Will they find themselves hosting more surprise guests? Will they spend the day together? Or will they each have different crazy situations to deal with? You can bet that no matter what happens, they’ll all come together by the end to celebrate the spirit of the holiday!

On tonight’s episode, “Thanksgiving VII,” the Hecks decide to forgo Thanksgiving when Frankie must pick up a holiday position as an overworked woman from the 19th-century; Sue goes back to work at Spudsy’s in hopes of running into Logan; and Axl becomes emotional over how his life’s turning out. Meanwhile, Mike and Brick bond during a power outage.

See all the Thanksgiving family fun tonight on ABC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Survivor, Criminal Minds, The Goldbergs, Modern Family, black-ish, Empire, Arrow, Supernatural, American Horror Story: Hotel, The League, and You’re the Worst.

Megan’s Choice

chicagopd1118smallThis is an exciting week for NBC, because The Voice has been amazing, but even more exciting is that Chicago Med premiered last night, rounding out the trifecta of perfection with the whole Chicago franchise…which brings us to tonight’s choice, Chicago PD. Even though I adore the other two in the franchise, PD will always be my favorite because of the great cast. I am loving all the directions they’ve been going lately with the characters, except for the Burgess and Adam relationship, because I see a breakup in the future at this rate.

On last week’s episode, Burgess said that she and Adam needed to get their own place together, and it was made an order, not a request, by Burgess, especially after Adam seemed hesitant. I’m a little concerned that these two need to sit down and really discuss the whole marriage thing before there isn’t a relationship to discuss. Speaking of marriage, Mouch asked Burgess to find out Platt’s ring size, which was squee-worthy and hilarious all at once because Burgess decided the best way to find out was to share moisturizer with Platt in the bathroom by rubbing it on Platt’s hands. Platt was extremely freaked out and said she felt like they’d “just made out” and she needed to make Burgess “a mixed tape.” I love Platt. On the case front, the team was tracking down some stolen secretive encryption chips that had them in dangerous territory that they shouldn’t be in, which is of course Voight’s favorite kind of territory. They managed to figure out that the wife had her husband killed and was working with another man from her work to sell the stolen goods. The case was a little boring, but what I did enjoy was watching Lindsay and Halstead work together, because they are not only a great team, but their banter is always amusing. Overall, it was a great episode and I’m looking forward to more.

On tonight’s episode, “Never Forget I Love You,” when the decapitated body of a woman found in Lake Michigan is connected to Voight’s social circle, Lindsay fears his relationship with the group may hinder his ability to approach the case objectively. Roman is having a hard time coping with recent events, and an error in judgment causes him to make a grave mistake. Meanwhile, Olinsky becomes upset when Antonio doesn’t consultant him before making a decision that could affect Michelle’s future.

Find out if Voight can put his personal attachment aside to solve the case on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching Rosewood, Criminal Minds, The Mysteries of Laura, Empire, Law & Order: SVU, black-ish, and Code Black.
