If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/19/15

Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Kyle’s Choice

tbbt1119smallOn last week’s episode of The Big Bang Theory, Sheldon was finally ready to re-enter the dating world and posted an elaborate scavenger hunt on Craigslist to find his new Amy. The clues would test any potential mate’s intelligence and the fact that she had nothing better to do on a Saturday night. Raj and Howard counted down the seconds to the deadline, but it seemed that no one had solved the clues. A couple minutes later, there was a knock on the door, and Sheldon answered. The young woman who had solved his riddle seemed absolutely perfect for him, and they had great chemistry. However, Sheldon closed the door on her, saying that she had not completed the task in time. And that was it. Meanwhile, Leonard, Penny, and Bernadette had a stakeout to get a glimpse of Amy’s dinner date. Her date seemed like a great guy. However, once he discovered that Amy knew the famous Doctor Cooper and his colleagues, that’s all he wanted to talk about.

Amy and Sheldon haven’t really spoken much since the breakup, and I’m interested to see how Amy reacts when she learns that Sheldon had planned to propose. I think it’s only a matter of time before Amy and Sheldon get back together, and while I’d really like that to happen, I think it would be a lot of fun to see more of Sheldon trying to date other people.

On tonight’s episode, “The Platonic Permutation,” now just friends, Sheldon and Amy spend Thanksgiving at the aquarium; a reluctant Wolowitz volunteers at a soup kitchen with Bernadette, Raj, and Emily; and Penny realizes that Leonard knows a bit more about her than he’s let on. Elon Musk guest stars.

To see what Leonard knows about Penny, tune in to CBS at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Life in Pieces, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes Reborn, The Blacklist, Bones, Sleepy Hollow, Haven, Spotless, and Nathan for You.

sleepyhollow1119smallSleepy Hollow had a great episode last week that kept us all on the edge of our seats. Jenny was possessed by the shard, which led to a group of Berserkers being sent by Nevins to get her so they could retrieve the stone. This obviously didn’t go well because Jenny is very powerful now and fights incredibly well, not to mention she has Joe, Ichabod, and Abbie backing her up. Unfortunately, all the backup in the world didn’t help them against those hellish beasts, but eventually Ichabod figured it out and they killed the creatures…but Nevins came looking for Jenny. He was just about to shoot Joe when Sophie stepped in and shot him, revealing herself as a FBI agent, who then warned Abbie that people had their eyes on her. Abbie rushed back to where Jenny was hiding, but she was gone. Jenny was completely taken over by the shard, and we saw her kneeling in front of a creepy guy who was with Pandora. This isn’t going to end well. Despite the case and everything else happening during this episode, I was impressed that they managed to get us some great Jenny and Joe scenes with their always interesting sexual tension. I hope he can save her now.

On tonight’s episode, “Novus Ordo Seclorum,” in the aftermath of Jenny and Joe’s run-in with Sophie, Abbie is in deep water with Reynolds. Meanwhile, the Witnesses deal with lasting implications of the shard and find themselves in grave danger as they come face-to-face with a greater evil than they could have imagined. Peter Mensah, Bill Irwin, & Jessica Camacho guest star.

Find out if Reynolds’ love for Abbie will save her job on FOX at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching Heroes: Reborn, The Player, Grey’s Anatomy, Bones, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder, 2 Broke Girls, Elementary, and The Blacklist.

Jenny’s Choice

bones1119smallLast week’s Bones had some great moments, but none greater than Booth & Brennan’s final scene, where Booth performed the magic trick with her work paper. I love magic, so I really enjoyed this episode, where an escape artist was murdered. First they zeroed in on her “trainer,” who they thought was her drug pusher. Then they talked to her boss’s son, who’d sent her threatening e-mails. But he told them he’d seen her kissing someone…and that led them to her roommate’s chef boyfriend (who was so skeazy!), who said they’d been having an affair but it was just sex, nothing serious. But then HE told them he thought his girlfriend knew about the affair. They talked to her, and yes, she knew, but because she wanted the new catering business she and her boyfriend had started, she was just going to look the other way. When they finally figured out the murder weapon was a padlock from a magic set of chains, they knew it was her boss who’d killed her. Turned out she was taking a job at a casino in Vegas, when she’d promised her boss she’d stay there for her entire career. The case itself was okay, but I especially loved all the magic side stories (with Dr. Edison, Hodgins, and Brennan, and again, Booth’s trick at the end). Another story last week was Christine losing her first tooth and Booth & Brennan arguing about whether or not the Tooth Fairy would be visiting. In the end, Brennan decided a little “magic” would be okay and told him she slipped a dollar under Christine’s pillow when she told her good night. And finally, Cam prodded Angela about Sebastian’s interest in her being a bit more than professional, only to learn he was interested in HER instead when he asked her out. She wasn’t sure she was ready after her breakup with Arastoo, but in the end, she called him, I’m assuming to tell him she was ready after all. I hope Cam can find some happiness. I would like to see Arastoo back, but assuming that isn’t in the cards, then…

On tonight’s episode, “High Treason in the Holiday Season,” the team investigates the high-stakes murder of a political journalist who was found dead after recently publishing an article exposing corruption in the NSA. Due to the nature of the investigation, Hodgins’ paranoia takes over as the team realizes their every move is being watched. Meanwhile, Brennan secretly tries to plan a surprise for Booth and the whole team celebrates Thanksgiving together. Gavin MacIntosh guest stars as Parker Booth!

See how the group celebrates Thanksgiving tonight on FOX at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing The Big Bang Theory, Life in Pieces, Man vs Child: Chef Showdown, 2 Broke Girls, & Beat Bobby Flay.
