Jenny’s Choice
I’m so excited because late tonight/early tomorrow morning, Netflix is putting out the entire first season of Fuller House, the continuation of the hit show that began in 1987, Full House. The original focused on Danny Tanner, a widow raising his three daughters with the help of his brother-in-law Jesse and best friend Joey. By the series end, Jesse was married to Rebecca and they had twin boys. The new series focuses on widow – oldest Tanner daughter – DJ, who moves back into the family home with her three boys after her firefighter husband dies. Middle Tanner daughter Stephanie and DJ’s best friend Kimmie move in with her, along with Kimmie’s daughter, to help DJ raise her boys. Other family members will guest star throughout the series, but the show will focus on DJ, Kimmie, Stephanie, and the kids.
Full House was a simple, feel-good, family show that I still love well into adulthood. So even though critics are already saying some not-so-nice things about it, I’m looking forward to it simply because I loved the original so much and am excited to see where all the characters are now, some twenty years later. If you go in expecting perfection, you’ll be disappointed. Hopefully you can go into it like I am and expect some silly, heartwarming, cheesy fun.

Tonight, BBC America brings the BAFTA-award-winning drama Prey to the US. The series has already run for two seasons in the UK. Each 3-episode season follows a different case being investigated by Detective Sergeant Susan Reinhardt (Rosie Cavaliero, A Young Doctor’s Notebook) of the Manchester Metropolitan Police Department, and both of these cases revolve around possible corruption within the force.
In the first case, which kicks off tonight, well-liked Detective Constable Marcus Farrow (John Simm, Life on Mars) finds his wife and son murdered, and all evidence points toward him. Marcus escapes custody and goes on the run, trying to clear his name, resorting to extreme measures and criminal behavior in order to do so. The only people he can trust are best friend DI Sean Devlin (Craig Parkinson, Misfits) and boss DCI Andrea Mackenzie (Anastasia Hille, You, Me, and the Apocalypse).
The second case, which starts in a few weeks, finds Reinhardt tracking down prison officer Dave Murdoch (Philip Glenister, Ashes to Ashes), who helps an inmate escape in exchange for his kidnapped pregnant daughter.
I really like these short British dramas, as they don’t involve a huge time commitment. Plus, the cast for this show is great! I’m glad that BBC America is finally bringing this series to US audiences, and I’m looking forward to checking out tonight’s premiere.
On tonight’s episode, “Episode 1,” Detective Sergeant Marcus Farrow is wrongly accused of murder and arrested, but he manages to escape custody to begin his search for the truth.

Megan’s Choice
I am very excited and nervous about the changes coming up for our favorite nerd crew on The Big Bang Theory after Bernadette and Howard’s big news about the baby on the way. Last episode, they told their friends about the pregnancy, and we watched as both Howard and Bernadette struggled with the worry that they wouldn’t be good parents. What better way to ease their worries than karaoke?
Sheldon was absolutely hilarious while he was drunk – although unsurprisingly, he still managed to keep his intense intelligence. I loved how outraged he was when Amy told him that Bernadette let it slip to her that the baby was conceived when Bernadette and Howard had sex on Sheldon’s bed. Sheldon ended up announcing it to the whole bar, much to everyone’s embarrassment. Hopefully the baby won’t change things too much, but we all know that kids change everything.
On tonight’s 200th episode, “The Celebration Experimentation,” after more than nine years together, the gang finally celebrates Sheldon’s birthday, surprising him with a special guest. Christine Baranski, John Ross Bowie, Sara Gilbert, and Wil Wheaton return, and Adam West guest stars.
