Kyle’s Choice
Tonight, after over seven months away, Vikings finally returns to History for the ten-episode second half of the show’s fourth season. When we last left off, Ragnar joined forces with some other Vikings and led his ships to raid Frankia. However, his brother Rollo was ready and waiting with his own army and a secret plan. A massive, bloody battle broke out on a floating barge. While the sickly, badly-beaten Ragnar was eager to fight his brother to the death, his men carried him back to the ship in retreat. Duke Rollo returned to Paris a hero, where Emperor Charles crowned him Caesar. The show then jumped several years into the future, where Bjorn and Queen Aslaug are ruling Kattegat. Ragnar, who is technically still king, returns after disappearing for years, demanding that one of his sons fight him to the death, but they all refuse.
I’m really curious to see how the time jump effects the story in this second half of the season. Ragnar’s sons are now much older, more mature, and ready to join the fight. Who will be king? Can Ragnar finally get over his embarrassment and once again lead his people, or will one of his sons rise to challenge him? And will he set his sights on bringing down the brother who betrayed him and the rest of their people? Also, how has Rollo’s new position and family changed him over these past few years?
On tonight’s midseason premiere, “The Outsider,” Ragnar returns to Kattegat and formulates a plan to head back to Wessex, where he intends to right past wrongs.

Because of Thanksgiving, it’s been two weeks since the last Criminal Minds, but it was a good one! Three young boys went missing, and the team quickly figured out there was a tie to a pair of missing siblings who disappeared in almost the exact same spot thirty years before. Those two had never been found, and their older brother had been vilified by the town, who assumed he’d done something to them, since he was with them just before they disappeared. The case had a happy ending for all the missing, though. The two who went missing so many years before were still alive. They’d been kept in a house not too far from where they disappeared and were still there. They’d been conditioned or brainwashed or something so that they never left. Even when their kidnapper passed away, they stayed. It didn’t seem there was any abuse. It was because the kidnapper was lonely and wanted company.
So after he died, they did what they knew and took the three boys. They didn’t seem to want to hurt them or abuse them at all. The three boys tried to escape, but just as they failed at that, the team found them anyway, and knowing that the original missing ones were victims as well, they treated them as such. They were reunited with their older brother at the same time the newly missing kids were reunited with their parents, and both reunions made me cry. It was actually a heartwarming ending for what was and could have been a tragedy.
I know a lot of people aren’t happy about Hotch being gone, but so far, I haven’t missed him OR Morgan. I liked both characters, but having Prentiss back and having Luke Alvez there has filled in the void well. Not to mention I’m still loving the little chemistry we’re seeing with Garcia and Luke. It’s quite different from what she and Morgan shared… He flusters Garcia, which is so much fun to see!
I’ve seen tonight’s episode, and it’s kind of awesome. It’s a case plus a lot of personal story into Tara’s family/background, and that’s always a lot of fun, when we dig into the personal life of one of the characters.
On tonight’s episode, “Mirror Image,†the BAU team opens an investigation when a man who fully believes he’s Dr. Tara Lewis’s brother arrives in town, knowing everything about her and her family, and she is unable to make contact with her real sibling. Series star Joe Mantegna directed the episode.

Megan’s Choice
Lethal Weapon is a show that I wasn’t expecting to enjoy because the first two episodes were a little bit cheesy, but the cast has won me over. The characters are loveable, just like the movies, and it makes me feel invested despite the sometimes corny moments. Riggs is the perfect picture of a tortured soul, and Murtaugh does his best to be a good partner while trying to make sure they both live to see another day — a difficult task with Riggs around.
On the last episode, Riggs and Murtaugh met a sexy DEA agent, Karen, who helped them with the case of the week, but what was more important was that Karen seemed to be a future love interest for Riggs. I think it’s going to be very hard for Riggs to move forward with the grief over his wife’s death, but I think it will make for some great television viewing for us.
Tonight’s episode, “Can I Get a Witness?” when a million-dollar casino heist takes a deadly turn, Riggs befriends the only credible witness, an eight-year old boy, and takes him into his care. On the flipside, Murtaugh pulls some dangerous stunts in an attempt to prove to everyone that he can be a motorcycle guy. Meanwhile, Riggs contemplates what to do with the money he received from selling his home in Texas.
