Have you ever been at a loss as to what to watch? Too many shows to pick from? We’re here to give you our opinions on what we feel is worth watching. Check it out and then let us know in the comments below what you’re choosing for tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

I’m excited about tonight’s premiere of Midnight, Texas on NBC. This is based on the best-selling book series by Charlaine Harris (who also wrote the books that inspired True Blood). François Arnaud (The Borgias) as Manfred, a charming young guy who happens to be a powerful psychic that can communicate with spirits. After going on the run from some bad dudes, he ends up in Midnight, after a prompting from his (dead) grandmother. Midnight is home to both human and supernaturals: Bobo, the owner of the local pawn shop (Dylan Bruce, Orphan Black); Fiji, a witch who owns the local wiccan shop (Parisa Fitz-Henley, Luke Cage); Olivia, a human assassin who runs with the supernatural crowd (Arielle Kebbel, The Vampire Diaries); Joe, an angel — literally, with big white wings! (Jason Lewis, Sex and the City); Lemuel, a vampire with a long history in Midnight (Peter Mensah, True Blood); Creek, an aspiring writer (Sarah Ramos, Parenthood); and Rev. Emilio Sheehan, a shifter — but what kind, you’ll have to watch to believe… (Yul Vazquez, Captain Phillips).

For the most part, critics haven’t been nice about this one, but I rarely put my faith in what critics (for TV, movies, or books) have to say — I listen but then make up my own mind, and I tend to like a lot of things they don’t and vice versa. That’s why I’m hopeful others will give this one a shot, no matter what they’ve heard. I’ve seen the first couple of episode and really enjoyed it. It’s not something you should sit down and expect to get serious TV from. It’s pure entertainment, and if you can take it for what it is and not try to make it more than that, it should be fun to watch.

On tonight’s episode, “Pilot,” Manfred Bernardo, a powerful psychic on the run, decides to hide out in the small, sleepy town of Midnight, Texas. But when he’s haunted by the ghost of a recently murdered Midnighter, Manfred discovers this sleepy community is a mysterious safe haven for outsiders with secrets — both supernatural and human.

See if this latest supernatural show’s for you tonight on NBC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing American Ninja Warrior, Dessert Games, So You Think You Can Dance, Texas Cake House, Whose Line Is It Anyway?, & Somewhere Between.
