I’ve been kind of burned out on Worst Cooks in America (& the celeb version). But the new season starting tonight brings in Alton Brown against Anne Burrell, and this is a matchup I have to see. Each will lead a team of “worst cook” recruits through a culinary boot camp to find the best of the worst and will then pit them against each other in a final challenge, cooking for a panel of culinary judges, in order to win $25,000 for themselves and bragging rights for their team leader.

Out of all the rival chefs paired against Anne, Alton Brown matches her in terms of attitude, and he’s got the chops to take his team to the win. We’ll see if I’m right or not when the season premieres tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “Bottom’s Up,” sixteen of the worst cooks in America enter boot camp with dreams of putting their kitchen nightmares behind them; Anne Burrell and Alton Brown ask the recruits to make a baseline dish and the results are truly disastrous.

Meet the new recruits and see Alton’s premiere tonight on Food Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching NCIS: LA & Beat Bobby Flay.

Tonight, Worst Cooks in America returns for its 16th season on Food Network, and this time it’s another Celebrity Edition. Like I said last week with The Amazing Race, I prefer these reality competition shows when they are just normal folks, but I usually still have a lot of fun with this show no matter who the cast is.

Tyler Florence and Anne Burrell will once again be competing to see who can whip their kitchen disasters into shape. The season’s eight new “celebrity” recruits include Jim J. Bullock (Hollywood Squares mainstay), Morgan Fairchild (Dallas, Falcon Crest), Jonathan Lipnicki (the now grown-up little boy from Jerry Maguire), Olympic ice skater Tonya Harding (the one who orchestrated an attack on her skating rival Nancy Kerrigan – those other kitchen recruits better watch out!), Taryn Manning (Orange is the New Black), Alec Mapa (Ugly Betty, Desperate Housewives), Kym Whitley (Curb Your Enthusiasm), and Jimmie Walker (Good Times).

On tonight’s premiere, “Celebrity: This Isn’t How It Looks in the Pictures,” eight of the worst celebrity cooks in America arrive at culinary boot camp, and chefs Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence ask them each to cook their favorite restaurant dish to see how they measure up to the original.

Don’t miss the premiere tonight on Food Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Good Girls, Supergirl, Killing Eve, A Discovery of Witches, Game of Thrones, Barry, and Veep.

Tonight, AMC is airing a special The Walking Dead eighth season finale/Fear the Walking Dead fourth season premiere crossover event. Last week on The Walking Dead, Negan returned to the Saviors, who were surprised to see that he was still alive. Negan quickly dispatched Simon for his betrayal, chaining his walker body to the fence of the Saviors’ compound. During the chaos of Negan and Simon’s brawl, Dwight helped Gregory escape, sending him back to the Hilltop to warn Rick and the gang about Negan’s plan of attack. However, Negan later revealed to Dwight that he knew of his betrayal and purposely told him a fake plan so that he would in turn feed it back to Rick. Despite Dwight’s actions, Negan announced he wasn’t going to kill him just yet. Meanwhile, Daryl and Rosita kidnapped Eugene in order to take him back to the Hilltop. However, Eugene didn’t want to leave, so he forced himself to vomit all over Rosita as a distraction and ran away. Finally, Michonne called Negan over the radio in order to read the note Carl had left for him. In the letter, Carl pleaded with Negan, asking him to call off the war, but the words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Negan was still planning to go forward with his plan to completely eliminate Rick and the gang.

Will this battle with the Saviors finally come to an end tonight, or will the writers drag this on for yet another season? Has Eugene really changed sides, or does he have some sort of plan he’s hatching to sabotage the Saviors’ ammo? Will Rick and the gang fall into Negan’s trap, or will they figure out his real plan in time? Will any major characters not survive tonight’s episode? I really hope we see the end of Negan in tonight’s finale so that the show can move on to some other storyline next year!

Following tonight’s finale, Morgan will make his way from The Walking Dead to Fear the Walking Dead. I’m really curious to see how this is going to work, as Fear takes place before The Walking Dead and in another part of the country. Will Fear do a time jump? Or will we see a pre-The Walking Dead Morgan? Will the helicopter we’ve seen a few times this season on TWD play a role in transporting Morgan to the other series?

On tonight’s The Walking Dead season finale, “Wrath,” the communities join forces in the last stand against the Saviors. The season’s story lines culminate in all-out war.

And in tonight’s Fear the Walking Dead season premiere, “What’s Your Story?” a lone traveler’s wearying journey is interrupted by new acquaintances, some who become friends, others who becomes foes.

Catch all the action tonight on AMC starting at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Timeless, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, The Last Man on Earth, Killing Eve, Worst Cooks in America, Trust, Silicon Valley, and Barry.

galavant13smallHuzzah and Tally Ho! Tonight, one of my favorite shows from last year finally returns! I am so glad Galavant got a second season because the first season ended on quite the cliffhanger! As the season came to a close, all of the prisoners had escaped from the castle, except for Sid. Madalena killed Richard’s brother and took the throne for herself, with Gareth by her side. Meanwhile, Isabella made her way to the home of her young cousin/future husband, where she was locked away in a tiny room. And Galavant and Richard were boarding a ship, trying to make their way back to their loves.

Will Galavant find Isabella before she marries her child groom? Will King Richard reclaim his throne? How will Madalena and Gareth run their new kingdom, and how will Sid fit in as their new squire? And how will Chef and Gwynne deal will their new freedom?

I thoroughly enjoy this show and have been anxiously awaiting new episodes! The characters are so much fun, and each episode is so creatively written, mixing in humorous situations and dialog, clever medieval parodies of modern-time pop culture and technology, and extremely witty and catchy original songs. I love having an hour of musical comedy to look forward to every week – and with at least 4 original songs each Sunday, there’s bound to be one that gets stuck in your head the next day!

The second season picks up immediately where the first left off. (If you missed the first season, you can still grab it for free on iTunes!) This series is perfect for binge-watching as it plays out like long story. However, each episode also has its own self-contained arcs. The second season will be aired across 5 weeks, 2 episodes each Sunday. I had access to screeners of the first 7 of this year’s 10 episodes, and I couldn’t help myself… I binged them all in a day! But even though I’ve already seen tonight’s premiere, I can’t wait to re-watch the episodes again tonight!

On tonight’s first episode, “A New Season aka Suck It Cancellation Bear,” Galavant and the crew are shipwrecked thanks to bad advice, and their overland trek back to Richard’s kingdom leads to a bar in West Hollow-wood. Then, in “World’s Best Kiss,” Galavant sees a fortune teller and is able to contact Isabella, who is planning her escape from Hortensia.

Sing along tonight on ABC starting at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Simpsons, Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life, Family Guy, Bordertown, & Worst Cooks in America.

worstcookssmallI love a good cooking competition series, and Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America is one of the best. It’s unbelievable how BAD some (most) of these cooks are each season. Anne Burrell is back, and this season, Tyler Florence (host of The Great Food Truck Race) is joining her in the mentor seat. I can’t wait to see how his teaching style differs from Anne’s. And based on the promos I’ve seen on TV recently, this season’s sure to be a lot of fun.

On tonight’s episode, “It Just Keeps Getting Worse,” Anne Burrell and Tyler Florence choose 14 contestants from an open call to bring back to Boot Camp, where the recruits prepare their signature dishes for the chefs; Anne and Tyler choose their recruits and teach them to create a romantic meal.

Check out the new recruits tonight on Food Network at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Galavant, The Great British Baking Show, Guy’s Grocery Games, The Librarians, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, CSI, & Cutthroat Kitchen.
