They blew up the lab!! Did that freak anyone else out at the end of last week’s Bones, when the lab at the Jeffersonian literally got blown to smithereens?? What a way to take down a set when a show is ending, huh? LMAO Anyway, through the viewpoint of four different characters, we followed each of them from the wedding reception up until the bomb went off. I’m totally going out of order, but here were the highlights: Cam’s purse was messed with at the wedding reception, and her keycard for the lab platform was stolen, which is ultimately how the bombs got smuggled into the lab in the middle of the night. Two prisoners escaped from prison, and Kovac (who was after Booth and his family and killed Max) was one of them – he then killed the other man and escaped. At the reception, Avalon warned Booth that Bones was in significant danger. He started to shrug it off but ultimately took the warning to heart. Bones and Angela had a sweet moment of friendship at the reception. Aubrey asked Jessica to move to LA with him when he goes for his new job. She not only turned him down but she broke up with him completely. Oh, and Angela’s pregnant! I figured that out as soon as she started puking her guts up at Zach’s trial. Speaking of Zach… Caroline did all she could to sway the judge in his favor, even though she was the PROSECUTION. It was sweet. And it worked. Between the evidence and all the testimony, Zach is a free man – as soon as he finishes serving the 13 months for helping the killer in the first place. Finally, back to the bomb… Bones had an epiphany moments before the bomb was discovered to be at the lab, and she ran off to grab the evidence, and that left her, Booth, Angela, and Hodgins (who was slower to get out because of his wheelchair)…TRAPPED IN THE LAB WHEN IT EXPLODED! What the what?!

Obviously they can’t all die, right? I trust Hart Hanson and Stephen Nathan and their crew more than that. But will they all come away virtually unscathed? And will they find Kovac and whoever was helping him? Is Cam really leaving the Jeffersonian like she said, at least for six months while she and Arastoo do some traveling? Will Angela’s baby be named Pookie Jr.? I know all (okay, most…) of those answers, since I’ve seen the finale. But you’ll have to find out for yourself. If you’re a fan of the show, I urge you not to miss tonight’s episode. It was made for the fans by the biggest fans of the show, Hart and Stephen, and it’s definitely not-to-be-missed!

On tonight’s episode, “The End in the End,” with Kovac still at large, the team searches for evidence to track him down. After Brennan experiences a setback, the rest of the team must figure out how to find Kovac without her, putting everything she has ever taught them to the test. When all signs point to Kovac having outside help, as well as a hideout, Booth and Brennan go searching for him.

Catch the final episode of a terrific series tonight on FOX at 9:01/8:01c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, Trial & Error, Chicago Fire, Chopped, & NCIS: New Orleans.

We’re down to the final two episodes of Bones (I won’t say EVER, since stuff seems to come back from the Cancellation Zone quite regularly. LOL), and it’s been quite the roller coaster all the way around. Last week was a fun one, like so many of them are. A body crash landed on a car, shocking the driver into going off-road and plowing into a tree, which made the car catch on fire…which didn’t do a whole lot for the body in the windshield! It turned out to be a mattress salesman turned aspiring writer/director who was killed by his second-in-command at the mattress store because he was coming back to work at the store full-time and she was going back to being second, not the one in charge. But the funniest part of the case was the actual movie (a horrible B-movie plot with even worse effects, acting, etc) and the fact that David Faustino (Bud Bundy from Married… with Children) played himself and was the lead in the movie. I love when actors play exaggerated versions of themselves, and he was no exception. Booth put Aubrey in charge of the case, and while he pushed Aubrey throughout, it turned out that he was doing it to test him because the LA field office was interested in Aubrey for a promotion/move to LA. So it looks like FBI Agent James Aubrey will now be FBI Supervisory Special Agent James Aubrey, but he’ll be moving to LA! (On a side note, Booth and Brennan ran into Betty White – or rather, Dr. Mayer, played by Betty White – and learned that she’s retiring because her passion for the work was gone. That got Brennan thinking, and it seemed like we were supposed to think SHE was losing her passion, when in reality, she confronted Wendell about his true passion not being forensic anthropology. He agreed, but that story kind of…fizzled out. Okay, great. So he’s not as passionate about it as Brennan, and maybe the Jeffersonian isn’t where he needs to be. So we’re going to end the series on that note for him?! Damn…)

There’s still so much story left to tell and only two episodes left to tell it. Will the team be able to get Zack set free? Will Cam and Aristoo get married? Will Angela and Hodgins have another baby? How will the series end? With everyone happy and still at the Jeffersonian/FBI? Or will they quit like they did in the past? I’ve seen both episodes and was both happy and unhappy with how it all goes down. I will say, though, that in true Bones fashion, you won’t want to stop watching till the very end!

On tonight’s episode, “The Day in the Life,” Brennan testifies for Zach; Angela reveals some big news; Aubrey and Jessica come to terms about their future; when the team learns Kovac has escaped, Booth rushes to protect those he loves. Cyndi Lauper guest stars.

Don’t miss the penultimate episode tonight on FOX at 9:01/8:01c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Trial & Error, Chicago Fire, & Chopped.

Tonight, FX’s 1980s Cold War spy drama, The Americans, returns for its penultimate season. As the fourth season came to a close, things got really intense. William had arranged a meeting to hand off the vial of the Lassa virus to Philip, but once he realized the Feds were tailing him, he smashed the vial, infecting himself and alerting Philip that he was walking into a trap. The Centre started to fear that William might turn on Philip & Elizabeth while being interrogated in the hospital, so Gabriel left it up to them if they wanted to go back to Russia. In his dying words, William revealed to Stan that there was an undercover spy couple with kids living the American dream. Meanwhile, Paige and Stan’s son Matthew were starting to get close, so Philip told Paige he wanted her to break it off, as it was too dangerous. And finally, in Russia, Philip’s illegitimate son, Mischa, had been released from his detention thanks to some powerful friends. Later, Mischa asked his grandfather for information about the father he never met and decided to search for him in America.

I was both happy and sad when it was announced last year that The Americans had been picked up for a final two seasons to close out the series (13 episodes this year and 10 episodes next year). While it’s sad to think of this excellent show coming to an end, I’m really happy that the writers can now safely work to a planned conclusion with an end date in mind. This series has a wonderful slow burn, with many tense moments and unexpected twists, and the acting is amazing. I’m looking forward to seeing what Stan does with his new information about the existence of a spy family – will he start to suspect his own neighbors? Will Mischa arrive in the US looking for Philip, and how will that affect the Jennings’ undercover work? And will Paige finally turn to the dark side and join the family business?

On tonight’s premiere, “Amber Waves,” the Centre sends a new operation unlike anything before to Philip and Elizabeth, which puts more strain on their already tense marriage and family life.

See how Philip and Elizabeth deal with the new operation tonight on FX at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, This Is Us, Bones, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Imposters, Detroiters, Switched at Birth, Face Off, The Detour, Teachers, and Chrisley Knows Best.

Tonight, the TBS comedy, The Detour, returns for a second season. The first season was very similar to National Lampoon’s Vacation – the Parker family was on a road trip to Florida under the guise of a family vacation, but patriarch Nate was really on a mission to expose his employer’s deadly plans. Everything that could have gone wrong during the trip did go wrong…and so much more! Nate ended up missing his whistle-blowing opportunity, but it actually worked out for the better, as he was wrong and would have just ended up looking like a fool. However, Nate did learn that partner Robin had some major secret that she was hiding, and twins Delilah and Jared learned that their parents weren’t actually married.

The second season picks up a short time later. Nate is still out of a job, and the family is living in a trailer park in Syracuse. However, a new job opportunity in New York City will send the family on a whole new series of misadventures and Robin to a city that holds many secrets she’s been trying to hide. As I watched the first half of tonight’s double-episode premiere, I was quickly reminded of how much I missed this show! I was laughing out loud throughout. I just love this show’s irreverent humor that doesn’t worry about being politically correct. I am so excited to see what craziness awaits the Parkers in New York City!

On tonight’s first episode, “The City,” Nate is offered a new job in New York City, triggering the family’s move from Syracuse to the Big Apple. Then, in “The Club,” Robin’s ex lures her back to her wild side by visiting a club from their past, sparking Nate’s jealousy in the process. Meanwhile, the kids meet Nate’s new boss.

Find out how the move to NYC goes for the Parkers tonight on TBS starting at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Wall, This Is Us, New Girl, The Mick, Bones, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Switched at Birth, Face Off, Teachers, and Chrisley Knows Best.

The Mick has turned out to be one of my favorite new comedies this season. Last week, Chip got caught with a lewd photo on his phone and had to go in front of the school’s honor-board. Sabrina was overseeing the trial and wasn’t going to let her brother get off easy. Chuck refused to give the names of the students who sent the photo…until he realized that the photo he had pleasured himself to was of his sister. After puking several times, he immediately gave up the names. Meanwhile, Mickey had a scared-straight speech with Ben about what happens to “rats,” so when he witnessed a man keying the family’s expensive car, he refused to tell Alba what he knew.

This show is so hilarious. Every week I find myself laughing out loud. The writing also seems to be getting better each week, as the writers find new and clever ways to intersect the various story lines and pair up the characters. I can’t wait to see what crazy, messed-up antics the family gets up to tonight!

On tonight’s episode, “The Mess,” Mickey dumps the “cool aunt” persona and decides to lay down the law when the kids ignore her attempts at disciplining them.

See how Mickey stands up to the kids tonight on FOX at 8:31/7:31c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Middle, American Housewife, Fresh Off the Boat, The Real O’Neals, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., The Wall, Bones, Imposters, Detroiters, Switched at Birth, Face Off, and Teachers.
