If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/6/12

This week begins the parade of season finales, although realistically, it’s not the end of the world as much as normal because there are so many new shows to fill the void, my TV will be almost as busy. Let’s take a look at what you should be watching tonight.

Megan’s Choice

GCB has brought a whole new level of devious, delicious joy to my life. These women are seriously some of the coolest, vindictive, sexy, and awesome characters on television today. I love the whole reformed mean girl idea, but I also love how Amanda still has her bitch side in her when she needs it. The fact that we finally saw all the women working together for the greater good last week was awesome. I loved the all girls barbeque team, and I particularly enjoyed watching them kick some pompous male ass.

On tonight’s season finale, “Revelation,” when Carlene takes the GCBs down to unincorporated Juarez for the groundbreaking ceremony for the Condos for Christian Living, the GCBs find themselves in danger. Meanwhile, Amanda’s suspicions regarding Luke lead to a surprising discovery about Ripp.

To see where our favorite bitches are left standing at the end of this season, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching/recording NYC 22, The Amazing Race, Harry’s Law, Once Upon a Time, & Desperate Housewives.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/15/12

It’s the start of a new week, and there’s plenty of good TV on, even though a few days are slower than others. Tonight has some great new episodes, though, so check out our recommendations below!

Jenny’s Choice #1

Last week, I watched the premiere of The Client List. I *almost* didn’t watch it, because I haven’t been a huge fan of most of the shows on Lifetime, ABC Family, etc. But I’m so very glad I did. I’m already shipping Riley and her brother-in-law, Evan. I loved the character of Riley and thought Jennifer Love Hewitt played her perfectly. Cybill Shepherd is great at Riley’s mother, too. And Loretta Devine is fantastic as Riley’s new boss at the spa. I’m interested to see where the show goes, now that Riley’s husband has left her and she’s taken the job at the spa giving happy endings… lol

On tonight’s episode, “Turn the Page,” Riley stumbles upon the phone number of a mystery woman from her husband’s past, leaving her to wonder if he was having an affair before he disappeared. Riley blows off some steam at a local bar with some of the girls from work. And a new client named “The Camel” finds a week of comfort from Riley while he’s on leave from work. Meanwhile, Riley’s mom, Linette, embarks on a new romance with fellow churchgoer, Garrett.

Check it out tonight on Lifetime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Client List @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/8/12

Happy Sunday, everyone! And Happy Easter, if you celebrate. It’s the start of a new week, which means some great new episodes. I’m most excited about the premiere of Don’t Trust the B—- in Apt 23 and new episodes of Missing and Bones. What are you looking forward to? For tonight, read on to find out what we think you should be watching.

My first pick tonight is the series premiere of The Client List on Lifetime. There’s really only one reason I’m going to watch this show: Jennifer Love Hewitt. I loved her in Ghost Whisperer. The premise of the show looks pretty good, so even without her, I might have watched, but because it’s JLH, I’m definitely going to watch. The Client List is about Texas housewife, Riley Parks (Hewitt), who, after being deserted by her husband, is left in serious financial straits and takes a job at a seemingly traditional day spa in a neighboring town. But when she realizes some of her co-workers also provide other services, Riley must make the difficult decision whether or not to embrace an opportunity for her to resolve her financial hardships. The series will follow Riley as she delicately balances a moral conflict between two starkly different lives – one as a single mother in a conservative town struggling to provide for her family and the other as a savvy and ambitious businesswoman working with a raucous, sexy and unpredictable group of women. As Riley becomes more involved, she struggles while working in secrecy knowing her family and friends would disapprove of her decision. Cybill Shepherd stars as Linette, Riley’s mother; Loretta Devine plays Georgia, the spa’s feisty and disorganized owner; and Colin Egglesfield portrays Riley’s brother-in-law, Evan.

On tonight’s episode, “The Rub of Sugarland,” After being deserted by her husband, single mother Riley Parks takes a job at a day spa and learns that sexual favors are being offered there on the side.

Check it out tonight on Lifetime at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of The Client List @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/1/12

I hope everyone has had a good weekend so far! Mine started early on Friday, when I got to meet 2 friends that I’ve known for a few years online when they brought their daughters to Kansas City to the American Girl store and to visit me! It was such a blast, even though they were only here for a couple of hours. Next time, they’ll leave the kids at home and come down for much longer. We had a lot of fun just talking books and writers and fanfiction, which is how we all met. Then Saturday, I slept a good portion of the afternoon, so it was nice and relaxing! LOL Anyway, some good stuff on tonight, so check out what we think you should be watching.

It’s been a pretty good season of Worst Cooks in America. I’m actually not TOO unhappy with the final two. Kelli, on Anne’s team, isn’t my favorite, but then…I didn’t like quite a few on her team, so… lol Kelli is a bit of a worry wart and spaz in the kitchen. She tends to get flustered easily, which is why I’m not her biggest fan. But she has also done well on several challenges, so she might do ok in the finale. On Bobby’s team, I was going to be ok with either Melissa, who was my personal favorite among all the contestants, and Vinnie, who was one of my other favorites. I wish it could have been the two of them in the final two, but they were both on Bobby’s team, so unfortunately, one of them had to go last week. Hopefully Vinnie can learn to manage his time. If he does that, he should win easily.

On tonight’s episode, “Worst to First: The Final Battle,” the two reminaing recruits are challenged to prepare a three-course meal and serve it in New York City’s David Burke Kitchen to three culinary experts, and the winner of the $25,000 grand prize will be determined based on the meal.

See who wins tonight on Food Network at 9/8c. Learn where to find episodes online of Worst Cooks in America @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching and DVRing Cupcake Wars, Iron Chef America, Breakout Kings, Coming Home, & Unchained Reaction.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/25/12

A year ago today, I became a mom for the second time. I held in my arms the most adorable, mischievous, quizzical, and sweet little boy, Pherson. Happy 1st Birthday, Pherson. The world became a brighter and louder place the moment you were born. 🙂

Now that I’ve gushed about my precious boy, let’s see what you should be watching on television tonight, shall we?

Every week, GCB gets a little bit nuttier, and I have been soaking up every delicious second of it. Last week, we watched as Carlene and her husband, Ripp, had marital issues – brought on by Ripp’s obsession on finding the money that Bill stole from him. We also watched Cricket get her “work out” by the tae kwon do instructor (he was super hot) and then later learned what a toll this faux marriage takes on her psyche. We also watched as Amanda is working on getting past her issues with Bill, but we also got a hint that he may actually be alive. Eek! I’m looking forward to Amanda and Carlene going head to head more, because I love the crazy bitchy behaviour.

On tonight’s episode, “A Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing,” Carlene’s Uncle Burl returns to town with his wife, Bitsy, and Gigi promises to throw them a homecoming party requiring guests to come dressed as their favorite Texan. Meanwhile, Blake recruits Amanda to consult for Cricket and Blake’s denim line, Pastor Tudor counsels Sharon and Zack during their rough patch – resulting in Sharon’s working at the church and Zach’s taking over Sharon’s duties at home – and Heather is after Burl’s 500 acres of land for her client, Andrew.

To watch this insane bitchy drama and have a good laugh, tune in to ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of GCB @ Clicker.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching and DVRing The Amazing Race, Once Upon a Time, The Good Wife, Harry’s Law, Desperate Housewives, and CSI: Miami.
