If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/19/14

Happy Victoria Day to my fellow Canadians! I hope you have all had a relaxing weekend like me, and for all you Americans…don’t worry, your turn is coming soon. While I soak up the last hours of the first long weekend of the summer, let’s see what we’re recommending to entertain you tonight.

mikemolly519smallMike & Molly has had a different season than the past three, with Molly no longer teaching and her character becoming a little more rough around the edges. All the changes aside, I’ve enjoyed it, especially with all the great guest stars, like Susan Sarandon and Kathy Bates. It’s been fun to watch Molly pursue her dreams of being a writer, but I’m concerned that it may wreak havoc on their marriage. I guess next season will tell us that, right?

On tonight’s season finale, “Eight is Enough,” Molly gets accepted into an elite eight-week writer’s workshop in Iowa, but faces a big decision when Mike asks her not to go.

To see if Mike will let her follow her dream, tune in to CBS at 9/8c.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/2/13

December is an incredibly busy month, but today, I am going to take a moment and start to unpack my Christmas decorations. I am most excited about sending my fiance out to go find us a tree—yay Christmas tree! After a busy day of Christmas decorating, I’m going to be ready to kick back and watch some television, so let’s see what’s on.

bakerybosssmallI have always loved Buddy, the Cake Boss, but tonight, we’re going to get to see him in a different light when his new show, Bakery Boss, premieres. Buddy is going to do what Gordon Ramsay does on Kitchen Nightmares (and Robert Irvine does, etc) except with bakeries and he’ll probably be a little nicer. With all that Buddy and his family have accomplished, it’s nice to see him giving back to family bakeries, and I’m very excited to see how he helps change people’s lives.

On tonight’s series premiere, “Friendly Bake Shop,” Buddy Valastro helps the Vitis family save their bakery.

To see if he can help this struggling business, tune in to TLC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Sleepy Hollow, 2 Broke Girls, Almost Human, The Voice, The Blacklist, CMA Country Christmas, and Mom.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/4/13

Daylight savings time is only great for people who have either no children or teenagers, because younger kids just get up an hour earlier. On the bright side, it means that winter is almost here, and that means SNOW… Don’t judge me. I love snow. 🙂 While I drink some coffee to stay awake after my early morning wake up with the kids, let’s see what’s on tonight.

thevoicelogosmallThe Voice really delivered last week during the Knock-out rounds; such incredible talent this year! I honestly don’t know how the judges do it, because in almost every single one of the battles, an extremely talented singer went home. The new addition of a steal in this round worked out really well, and now, each team is going to the live shows with five singers. So far, my favorites are Shelbie Z, Austin Jenckes, Will Champlin, and Caroline Pennell. I’m hoping they all survive the first week of live shows.

On tonight’s episode, “The Live Shows Premiere,” Adam’s and Blake’s artists sing live for your votes and a trip to the Top 12; Xtina performs with Flo Rida.

To see how these two teams face off tonight, tune in to NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching Sleepy Hollow, Bones, Mike & Molly, Hart of Dixie, Mom, 2 Broke Girls, Hostages, and The Blacklist.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/30/13

I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I actually had trouble finding some things to watch a couple of nights this week—the problem was most of the stuff I watch didn’t start until 10pm. Why can’t they do a better job of spreading my shows out across the night?! 🙂 I’m not going to say I wish there was more on, because that wish will definitely come true soon—I’ll gladly take a few slow nights to rest up before the summer TV madness that is to come! 🙂

rookieblue530smallLast week, Rookie Blue returned for the fourth season. Andy and Nick were just finishing up their six-month undercover operation, and we learned that the two had hooked up in the process. When the operation hit a snag, Andy called Sam to come in and save the day, reuniting the two who hadn’t had any contact since the operation began. Afterwards, Andy discovered that Sam had moved on while she was away and was now dating the new training officer, Marlo. Meanwhile, Diaz had moved his son and girlfriend into the apartment with Dov, but when he received a letter telling him he could transfer to his hometown department, he had a new decision to make.

I really enjoyed the action-packed premiere, and I was beyond thrilled to see that Sam and Andy had remained broken up and that there might be a chance (albeit slim) of one or both of them moving on. It is probably the unpopular opinion, but I really wished they had killed off Sam at the end of season two—I don’t know what it is, but I just don’t like him. Sadly, I have a feeling the writers’ ultimate goal is to have Sam and Andy end up together, so in the meantime, I’ll just savor this separation. There was no sign of Luke last week—I really liked him and Andy together in the first season (before the writers did a 180 and turned him into a cheating dirtbag). Last season, Luke seemed to be redeeming himself, so I still hold out hope (no matter how futile) for those two to get back together. 🙂 I’m having flashbacks of Dawson’s Creek, where I seemed to be the only person who thought Joey should have ended up with Dawson!

On tonight’s episode, “Homecoming,” Andy investigates a bank robbery with Swarek. Meanwhile, Nick and Gail help a distraught woman; and Frank drops a bombshell on Noelle.

To see what news Frank gives Noelle, tune in to ABC at 10/9c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Save Me, Hannibal, Hell’s Kitchen, Does Someone Have to Go?, Chopped, Giving You the Business, Men at Work, and Zach Stone is Gonna Be Famous.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/11/13

What a weekend! East Coasters are dealing with a blizzard, I was dealing with my in-laws visiting… I’m not sure who had it worse! *snicker* Just kidding. I love my in-laws, and I’m a very lucky girl to have married into the family I did. And from the pictures I’ve seen, once again, I’m glad I live in the middle of the US! Now, whether you are buried under three feet of snow or not, curl up with some great TV tonight. We’ve got you covered on what you should be watching, as always!

castle211smallLast week’s Castle was really good… Beckett faced her mother’s murderer but was unable to do anything but protect him. She tried to cross the line by keeping the letter from everyone, by letting the guy get away before she shot in his direction, but in the end, it didn’t matter. They didn’t need the letter and the guy was caught quickly by Ryan & Esposito and they figured out he was being set up as the bomber. Senator Bracken got away looking like the good guy when he had the guy behind it all arrested, and Beckett had to watch him walk away yet again. Poor thing. But she was rocking the up-do last week!

I’m excited for tonight’s episode because it’s another Firefly reunion…with Gina Torres this time! Yay for cameos!

On tonight’s episode, “Reality Star Struck,” Castle & Beckett get an up-close-and-personal view of a Real Housewives-esque reality TV series, “The Wives of Wall Street,” when they investigate the murder of the show’s rising young star. Meanwhile, Castle’s attempt to give Beckett a Valentine’s Day gift goes horribly wrong. Gina Torres (Suits, Firefly), Gail O’Grady (Drop Dead Diva, Desperate Housewives), Lachlan Buchanan (Pretty Little Liars), and Heather Ann Davis (The Lake) guest star.

See the drama tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Bones, How I Met Your Mother, The Bachelor, Rules of Engagement, 2 Broke Girls, Mike & Molly, Next Great Baker, The Following, Hawaii Five-0, Continuum, Monday Mornings, Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, & Pawn Star$.
