I slipped on some ice on Sunday, and what I thought was just a pulled muscle turned out to be a dislocated hip. That’s right… Even when I hurt myself, it has to be unusual. 🙂 Tonight, I’m going to relax on the couch with a heating pad, snacks, and amazing new television. Join me, please?
Megan’s Choice #1
I have been looking forward to the new ABC show Mind Games since I got a chance to watch the pilot months ago. It’s the premise that got me the most, even before the star-studded cast. We’re going to follow brothers Ross (Christian Slater) and Clark (Steve Zahn) as they use a mix of science, con-artistry, and mind tricks to help influence life-altering situations to make their clients’ dreams a reality. They run a quirky business, Edwards and Associates, based on the belief that people’s decisions are influenced by their environment in ways they don’t even realize. In a TV landscape that is dominated by crime dramas and sitcoms, I am very excited to have a new dramedy that is going to pull on our heart strings and still make us laugh at times.
On the series premiere, “Pilot,” Clark and Ross help a boy with a heart condition by convincing the insurance company to approve his claims.
You definitely won’t be sorry if you give this show a chance by tuning in to ABC at 10/9c.
Megan, Kyle, & I have gotten a chance to watch the trailers & clips for all the new network shows, and we’re here to give you our opinions on what might be worth watching—based on the trailers alone. Our opinions may (most likely WILL) change after we get a chance to view the pilots, but for now, this is what we’re thinking. Check out our thoughts on the ABC trailers now, and then come back over the next few days to check out our responses to the other networks.
Let’s start off with the dramas…in alphabetical order:
Jenny: Honestly, this is probably one I’ll skip even watching the pilot, simply because I know my tastes. This is a drama through and through—much like Nashville and Scandal have turned out to be. I don’t mind a little drama for drama’s sake if it’s in a cop, law, or medical show, but when it’s all about drama, no thanks. – Most Likely 1 and Done.
Megan: This trailer left me wanting more. I’m sure there are going to be a lot of people who say that the infidelity angle has been done too many times. I am not one of those people. This a mom who feels alone in her marriage and a man that sparks something in her that she thought was gone. It’s a difficult place to be, and I’m not sure what I would do, but I do know that watching this woman’s life change around her is going to make for good TV. – Curious.
Kyle: This looks more like something that belongs on Lifetime. Seems to be very thin on plot and heavy on the sex scenes. I would have thought this was another Shonda Rhimes show based on that trailer. – Most Likely 1 and Done.
