If We Controlled Your Remote… 3/22/11

Tonight’s a great night on TV, which is good, because Megan is now on bed rest. Luckily, she thought ahead and wrote up tonight’s post and tomorrow’s, so you get to read her thoughts for 2 more days, before she takes a well deserved rest. So, let’s see what Megan will be watching, and what Lisa and I recommend, as well!

Jenny’s Choice

It’s a great week for TV, because many of my favorites are new this week, including NCIS on CBS. I love this show and the characters, and get excited every time there’s a new episode. My favorite character has to be Abby, although Tony is a close 2nd. I love them all, though, so watching any of them on screen isn’t a hardship!

On tonight’s episode, Gibbs questions Vance’s motives when he is asked to cross-examine a teenage boy accused of brutally slaying his retired Marine father. Cameron Monaghan (Shameless) guest stars.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/18/11

Whew, what a week! It’s only Tuesday, but last night’s TV wore me out! There was SO much on! There’s not as many brand new shows on tonight, but there are still a ton, so let’s just jump into it. Be sure and let us know what you’re going to watch tonight!

Jenny’s Choice

Since Megan is doing my other favorite of tonight’s new shows, I chose NCIS. I love the spinoff, but I still adore the original, too. The cast is phenomenal, with fantastic chemistry and great storylines, from the personal to the professional. Mark Harmon is a natural born leader, and everyone on his team is believable and fun to watch. I enjoy it every time I watch, and I know tonight is going to be no different.

On tonight’s episode, a petty officer’s recruitment session at a college fair comes to a tragic end when he’s brutally murdered in a stairwell, prompting the NCIS team, accompanied by Dr. Mallard’s predecessor, to solve this mysterious murder. The amazing Bob Newhart is guest starring as Dr. Walter Magnus, Ducky’s predecessor.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 1/11/11

Is it just me, or is January flying by already? That’s both exciting and nerve wracking for me, as each day gets me closer to being a mom of two! Only about 8 weeks left to go, and I’ll have a baby boy. 😀 I’m supposed to be resting more, according to my doctor, so tonight, that’s exactly what I’m doing – relaxing and watching great TV. Let’s take a look at what we think you should be watching, shall we?

Megan’s Choice

I simply can’t help myself when it comes to watching NCIS: LA, and I’m not going to try either. 😉 I don’t know if it’s the chemistry of the cast, the story lines, or the attractive eye candy the show offers that pulls me in, but whatever it is, I want more.

In tonight’s episode, the team investigates the theft of a body with a Navy identification marking from an autopsy room, and they uncover an experimental Navy tracking system.

Tune in to CBS at 9/8c and see our favorite agents save the day. Learn where to find episodes online of NCIS: LA @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 11/30/10

Is anyone else already listening to Christmas music? I’ve got a playlist of my Christmas music playing right now, including the Glee Christmas album, some country, some Pop Idol, and a few other odds and ends. For some reason, the day after Thanksgiving, I had this itch to pull out my Christmas music, and I’ve been enjoying it since. Anyway, enough about music. 😉 There’s a lot on TV tonight, but not a lot of the more popular shows. It’s a big night for Glee, so we have a double helping of that, as well as a couple of other great shows to recommend, so let’s get to it. Lisa is up first with the 1st of our 2 Glee picks. – Jenny

Lisa’s Choice

I’d first like to thank Megan for allowing me to take the Glee reigns this week, I really appreciate it, because it’s for a good cause. Last year on this very day, someone special in my life passed away. My grandmother. Glee is a wonderful show that we really bonded over, and last Thanksgiving, we spent the evening watching old episodes of the show and singing along to the songs. It was really appropriate that the day before my grandmother’s funeral, I watched Glee and found the words I wanted to say about her. I don’t want this to be a depressing post, of course, but I just want to share that Glee can bring all ages together, and it is a show that will always remain special to me.

Tonight’s episode of Glee centers around New Directions and seeing if they’ll have their shining moment at sectionals where they face the Warblers (with a brand new member in Kurt) and the Hipsters. Also, Dr. Carl and Emma grow closer, much to the dismay of a certain Glee club advisor/Spanish teacher (and many fans). Watch an all new episode of Glee tonight at 8/7c on FOX. TV News – 10/25/10

Can you believe this is the last week in October? Is everyone ready for Halloween? We are in the process of moving, but I promised my daughter that we’d be moved before it was trick or treating time. She’s going to be a dalmatian, which really isn’t surprising seeing as she loves dogs. Well, now that you are all bored with my regular life details, let’s look at TV news. 🙂

FX has ordered a new live-action comedy series, Wilfred. The series stars Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings), and Jason Gann () and is based on the Australian series of the same name. Wood plays “Ryan, an introvert who struggles to find social and professional happiness, until he meets ‘Wilfred’ (Gann). Everyone else sees Wilfred as a dog, Ryan sees him as a man dressed in a dog suit.” Gann co-created and played Wilfred in the Australian original. I’m actually looking forward to seeing this series because I am a fan of Elijah Wood and this is the first time he’ll star in a regular TV series. Expect Wilfred to hit your television in the summer of 2011.

More after the jump. Continue reading
