Tonight, TruTV launches the 10-episode first season of the new firehouse comedy Tacoma FD, starring and created by two of the “Super Troopers,” Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme. Terry McConky (Heffernan) was recently made chief of his firehouse, but he’s having trouble transitioning from being one of the guys to being the more responsible one in charge. His brother-in-law and best friend of 25 years, Captain Eddie Penisi (Lemme), doesn’t make this task any easier. He’s always encouraging his buddy to participate in the firehouse shenanigans. Meanwhile, Councilwoman Linda Price (Suzy Nakamura, The Goldbergs) tries to get the chief back on track before the firehouse gets shut down but is often shocked and appalled by the antics she witnesses whenever she arrives unannounced. The rest of the crew includes Andy Myawani (Eugene Cordero, Black Monday, The Good Place), Granny Smith (Marcus Henderson, Get Out, Homecoming), and the dim-witted Ike Crystal (Gabriel Hogan, Heartland, Condor). And shaking things up at the testosterone-filled firehouse is new probie Lucy (Hassie Harrison, Southbound).

I really enjoyed tonight’s premiere – it had me laughing out loud quite a bit. This show definitely has a similar feel to Super Troopers and the other Broken Lizard comedies. There’s a lot of downtime at the station, so the guys need to find ways to amuse themselves, which usually results in playing pranks on one another or coming up with crazy, stupid competitions. When the bell actually does ring and the guys are called to help someone in need, it’s not typically a matter of life and death, so the fun and games also continue on the job. I’m looking forward to watching more of this show – it looks like a fun, comedic alternative to those more serious first responder dramas.

On tonight’s premiere, “On the Hot Seat,” Tacoma FD’s newest chief, Terry McConky, is under scrutiny by the city council to get serious about his station’s ratings; Terry’s crew puts his job in jeopardy by engaging in a ridiculous competition for a super “sawft” prize.

Join the newest TV firefighters tonight on TruTV at 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, Superstore, A.P. Bio, Will & Grace, Abby’s, and The Other Two.

Station 19 returned last week, and it was intense to say the least. Andy and the captain were stranded in the ambulance with the victim who was barely hanging on – but to make matters worse, the captain was badly injured and couldn’t feel his legs. Andy managed to climb the giant incline to light a flare and save the captain, but unfortunately the young lady who was in the ambulance originally due to injuries sustained during a car accident didn’t fare so well and she died. Andy was later awarded a Medal of Valor for her work that day, but she was upset because she felt unworthy of it. She accepted it but didn’t have any grand words to share with the audience because of her guilt that the girl died. The only one who saw the true reason behind it was Ryan, and he went after her to comfort her. Later they found comfort together yet again at the after party when Andy couldn’t help but have sex with him, but this is a dangerous story line for them because they keep hurting each other and then going back at it. I see a potential issue in their future in the form of the captain, because after the experience during the wind storm, Andy and Sullivan have a new connection. I don’t know who I want with Andy, but whoever it is I know it is going to be incredibly hot.

On tonight’s episode, “I Fought the Law,” when Andy, Maya, and Dean respond to a call, they find an injured woman with amnesia, but soon into the treatment process, they realize there is much more to her story. Meanwhile, Captain Sullivan takes Ben and Jack on a house call that quickly becomes a close call for the patient they’re treating, while Ryan may not have seen the last of his father.

To see how Ryan deals with his father, tune in to ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching For the People, Grey’s Anatomy, and Top Chef.

Tonight, the NBC comedy A.P. Bio returns for its second season. Last season, we were introduced to disgraced former Harvard Philosophy professor Jack Griffin, who had reluctantly moved back home to Toledo, Ohio, and taken over as the Advanced Placement Biology teacher at Whitlock High School. However, Jack doesn’t actually do any teaching – he told his students that he will give them all A’s as long as they don’t report him. Instead, Jack is constantly putting his students to work to help carry out his own personal schemes, such as plotting ways to get revenge on the rival who stole his tenure. As the first season progressed, Jack’s projects also branched out into schemes involving some of his students’ personal lives. And while Jack continued to put on this rough, selfish exterior, it was clear that he was warming up to the students and actually cared about someone other than himself. The series also follows the misadventures of the rest of the school’s inept staff, including Principal Durbin (Patton Oswalt), secretary Helen (Paula Pell), and the rest of the staff.

The new season starts off with things pretty much the same, picking up in the same school year with Jack “teaching” the same class of students. Jack is once again enlisting his pupils to aid in his latest scheme that will hopefully allow him to quickly achieve financial and professional success and get out of Toledo and back to the real world. Meanwhile, there’s plenty of other craziness ensuing in the main office and in teacher’s lounge.

On tonight’s premiere, “Happiness,” Jack tries to unlock the secret of what makes ordinary people happy, leading him to a new book idea that he believes will be his ticket out of Whitlock High and Toledo; Mary, Stef and Michelle celebrate a special day.

See what Jack comes up with for his book idea tonight on NBC at 8:30/7:30c.

Station 19 has wasted no time pulling on our heart strings and keeping us on the edge of our seats this season. Sullivan has tried being extremely hard on the firefighters at the station house, but that backfired when he got offside and Andrea yelled at him. She apologized, but I think she actually got through to Sullivan, because he is now trying to get to know his team and wants to have a meaningful chat with Andrea sometime when they’re off duty. I’m interested to see if he can win her over so the rest of the house follows suit.

On a different note, this Bailey and Ben separation is emotionally draining for me! When Bailey was sobbing and told him that worrying about him was literally breaking her heart, I cried right along with her…but she needs to get over it. She needs to understand that he is a firefighter now, and if she loves him, she will learn to deal with it.

On tonight’s episode, “Weather the Storm,” as the team gathers for a Friendsgiving celebration at Dean’s, a violent windstorm touches down in Seattle. As the storm picks up speed, creating dangerous fire conditions, the crew must put the festivities on hold and report for duty, leaving some of them in a life-threatening situation.

To watch the team deal with the crazy storm, tune in to ABC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, I Feel Bad, Legacies, Grey’s Anatomy, S.W.A.T., and The Good Place.

Tonight, Superstore reopens its doors for its fourth season on NBC. When we left off last year, Myrtle was being fired. Everyone banded together to try to save her job, but they were ultimately unsuccessful. Meanwhile, Dina was pregnant as a surrogate for manager Glenn, and Amy discovered she, too, was pregnant by her ex-husband. However, that didn’t stop the show from finally answering the big “Will They or Won’t They” question that fans have been wondering about since the beginning of the series. Amy and Jonah had sex in the storage room – what they didn’t realize until afterwards was that their sexcapades were being live-streamed to all of the Cloud 9 locations.

Tonight’s season premiere picks up 4 months later, as Amy and Jonah return to their jobs at Cloud 9. Lucky for us, their punishment isn’t at all realistic – in real life, there is no way they would be allowed to return to their jobs after what happened, or at the very least Amy would have been demoted! But now that they are back, is it really business as usual? How will their co-workers treat them now that they’ve seen Amy and Jonah bare all? And what is the status of their relationship – was it just a one-time thing, or are Amy and Jonah still a couple? The Cloud 9 crew always provide lots of laughs, and I’m excited to have them returning to my TV!

On tonight’s episode, “Back to School,” Amy and Jonah return from a four-month suspension just in time for the back-to-school sale madness, but they receive different treatment from their co-workers; Jeff makes a misguided attempt to woo back Mateo.

Catch up with the gang at Cloud 9 tonight on NBC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Grey’s Anatomy, The Big Bang Theory, Young Sheldon, The Good Place, Will & Grace, and I Feel Bad.
