thelibrarians111smallI’m really loving The Librarians. Last week was a lot of fun when the team realized that fairy tales were coming to life…only, these weren’t your normal fairy tales. They were being created and manipulated by an old man (a REAL librarian) who, by “reading” from a magical book, was draining the life out of a little girl. The best part of the episode was when Ezekiel finally got the book from the guy, gave it to the little girl, and told her to make up her own stories. She made Eve a ninja princess, Jake a robot with awesome vision, and Cassandra got turned into Merlin in disguise. And the high school football team as the wolves? Pretty funny.

There are only two weeks left to this adorably fun show, since TNT is airing double episodes tonight and next week. It hasn’t been renewed yet…but it has to be, doesn’t it? I would hate to see them cancel it. It’s been too much fun to watch.

On tonight’s first episode, “And the Rule of Three,” when a group of competitive high school students start undercutting each other with witchcraft, the Librarians have to intercede before disaster destroys them all. Then on the second episode, “And the Heart of Darkness,” the Librarians encounter the House behind the legend of ALL haunted houses and set out to destroy it.

See how the Librarians defeat witchcraft and a haunted house tonight on TNT at 8/7c & 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Galavant, Guy’s Grocery Games, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Worst Cooks in America, & Cutthroat Kitchen.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/14/14

Christmas Eve is ten days away, so I decided to start my Christmas baking today. Let me tell you that you should be jealous because my house smells delicious! I adore the shortbread and gingerbread cookies the most, and tonight I’m sitting down with a cup of peppermint hot chocolate and a cookie to indulge in not only some sweet treats, but fantastic television as well. Let’s see what we should all be enjoying.

brooklyn991214smallBrooklyn Nine-Nine has become my favorite Sunday-night show without a doubt, and it’s mostly due to Peralta and Boyle, but last week it was due to Peralta, Rosa, and the Pontiac Bandit (guest star Craig Robinson). I am happy that the task force managed to wrap up the Gigglepig case thanks to the Bandit being an informant, but I’m even happier that they brought him back—that character is just plain comedic gold. The part with him saying that Peralta could be his son and that Peralta wasn’t adopted but his mom was so white she was almost invisible seriously had me in a giggle fit. Truth be told, the only part of the show that I found mildly annoying was Amy yet again trying to find a way around Captain Holt’s “no presents” rule, because this girl is always trying to find a way to soothe her Type “A” personality, which usually involves doing something the captain told her not to. It was funny at first, but now it’s getting old. Find new stuff. Overall, the episode was a win, and I’m looking forward to seeing more.

On tonight’s episode, “Stakeout,” Jake and Charles’s bro-mance starts to crack when they volunteer for an eight-day stakeout in very close quarters. Meanwhile, Captain Holt’s nephew, Marcus (guest star Nick Cannon), comes to Brooklyn and captures Rosa’s attention.

To see just what a man has to do to catch Rosa’s attention, tune in to FOX at 8:30/7:30c.

I’ll also be watching Once Upon a Time, Undercover Boss, Holiday Baking Championship, CSI, and Cutthroat Kitchen.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 12/7/14

We’re getting closer & closer to Christmas, and this week definitely shows it because there are a ton of finales on. But there are still quite a few new episodes, and Kyle & I are here to give you our recommendation on what to watch tonight.

thelibrarians127smallI couldn’t be more thrilled because tonight is the 2-hour series premiere of TNT’s The Librarian. Way back in 2004, Noah Wyle played Flynn Carsen, a perpetual student who earned 22 degrees before he was banned from taking more classes. He was quickly hired as a librarian, although rather than just checking out books, he began hunting down magical, mysterious “artifacts” and relics. TNT did three TV movies, the last airing in 2008, and now, it’s back, in TV show form instead of movie. Wyle is back as well, in his role of Flynn Carsen, although he’ll only be a recurring character, in addition to his new role of Executive Producer. Several others from the TV movies are returning as well: Bob Newhart & Jane Curtin.

The show centers on an ancient organization, hidden beneath the Metropolitan Public Library, dedicated to protecting an unknowing world from the secret, magical reality hidden all around. This group solves impossible mysteries, fights supernatural threats, and recovers powerful artifacts, including the Ark of the Covenant, the Spear of Destiny, and Excalibur. The new cast includes Christian Kane (loved him on Leverage!), Rebecca Romijn (loved her on King & Maxwell!), Lindy Booth, & John Kim as the new “Librarians,” as well as John Larroquette in the role of their caretaker. Matt Frewer will be recurring.

thelibrarianssmallIf you were a fan of the TV movie trilogy or of Syfy’s Warehouse 13, I urge you to give this a shot. It looks like it’s gonna be a lot of fun, and it has a great cast.

On tonight’s first episode, “And the Crown of King Arthur,” someone is killing off potential Librarians and it’s up to Flynn Carsen and his new Guardian, Colonel Eve Baird, to save the three that are left. Then on “And the Sword in the Stone,” the Serpent Brotherhood is trying to return magic to our world. Flynn, Colonel Baird, and the potential Librarians must stop them before it’s too late.

Don’t miss the 2-hour premiere of the latest fun, hit drama tonight on TNT at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Guy’s Grocery Games, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Holiday Baking Championship, The Mentalist, Cutthroat Kitchen, & CSI.
