If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/17/11

Unfortunately, it’s Monday, which means back to work for a lot of people. Thankfully, there is a ton of great new TV on tonight to console you. Monday is one of my favorite nights of the week simply because of that. You? Let us know below after you see what we recommend!

My first pick tonight should come as no surprise, because Castle has been fan-freakin-tabulous this season. The chemistry between Castle and Beckett is ramping up, and the rest of the cast has been really gelling well, too. The new captain is…a hard ass, to put it semi-politely. lol She still hates Castle, even with the results they are bringing, but I have to wonder if he is beginning to win her over. It’s going to be fun to see how he charms her over to his side—cause you know he will…he’s Richard Castle, after all! Tonight, Beckett is going to get jealous about Castle’s attraction to one of the people involved in their investigation. Will this get her one step closer to admitting to him that she remembers everything from the day she was shot, and that she loves him, too? Only time will tell!

On tonight’s episode, “Eye of the Beholder,” Castle & Beckett work a murder case around the theft of a valuable sculpture. Kristin Lehman (The Killing) guest stars as Serena Kaye, a smart, sexy insurance investigator, who joins Castle & Beckett in the investigation, but she also has her eyes set on Castle, all the while hiding a very important secret from the team. Jessica Tuck (True Blood) also guest stars as Joy McHugh, a wealthy museum benefactor who becomes a suspect in the murder investigation.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 10/10/11

Welcome to the first work day of the new week. Did you have a good weekend? Mine was long, and I’m actually looking forward to today, because Monday night TV is always great. What do we think you should be watching? Read on to find out!

Castle has been amping up the flirting since the premiere, getting back to some of the best of the chemistry between Castle & Beckett, while still making the case of the week fun. You know it’s got to all come crashing down soon, though, when they learn of each other’s deceit. Tonight’s episode promises to be a hard one for the team, so hopefully we’ll get some good scenes between all the cast, not just Castle and Beckett.

On tonight’s episode, “Kick the Ballistics,” while investigating the mysterious shooting death of a young woman, Castle and Beckett face a cop’s worst nightmare when they discover that the gun used in the killing is Det. Ryan’s old service weapon—the one that was stolen by the serial killer, 3XK. Now, with the clock ticking, the team must work to solve the murder, track down 3XK and retrieve Ryan’s gun before the killer strikes again.

Check it out tonight on ABC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Castle @ Clicker.

If We Controlled Your Remote… 8/15/11

It’s the start of the work week for most people, and if you live in my town, it’s the day before school starts for most kids. My kid is…sort of excited. LOL He’s kind of half excited, half bummed, but I think he’s most excited about being the top dog at school, since it is made up of 7th graders and 8th graders (of which he’s one). That means my days will be quieter, which is nice, but it also means the rat race that is school has begun. We still have one more night, though, which is great, since one of my son’s favorite shows is on tonight: Warehouse 13. Check that out and everything else we think you should watch below.

Ding dong, the witch is gone! Last week on Eureka, we saw the culmination of Beverly’s plan, as she (as Allison), along with her henchmen, broke into Section Three at Global Dynamics. We learned Beverly wanted to get back at GD by stealing all their research and data. Beverly timed it just right so she did it right after Allison took over temporary control of GD while Fargo tried out for the Astraeus mission. Zoe was back in Eureka, and Jo was the one to drive her in. That was an uncomfortable conversation—which didn’t get more comfortable until the end, when they finally had it out over Zane. My favorite parts were when Jo zapped Allison/Beverly before she could steal away with the hard drive on the departing helicopter, and when Carter finally led Zoe off at the end to tell her all about the time travel. Allison will have some issues readjusting after Beverly is out of her head. How long will it take her? I dunno, but I can’t wait to see how that and all the other stories play out!

On tonight’s episode, when things start disappearing around Eureka, Carter and Allison discover something is literally eating through Global Dynamics. Ming Na guest stars on tonight’s episode.

Tune in to Syfy at 9/8c to see what should be VERY interesting critters! Learn where to find episodes online of Eureka @ Clicker.

Interview with Alexandra Chando from The Lying Game

The Lying Game is an all new show based on the books by Sara Shepherd (same writer as Pretty Little Liars), and it’s premiering tonight at 9/8c on ABC Family. This show is full of drama, humour, and mystery—quickly putting it on many must see lists.

The adorable star of the show, Alexandra Chando, sat down for a conference call with reporters recently to help us all get ready for the series premiere. Let’s see what she had to say about playing twins, the books, and the show in general.

About playing dual roles and the challenges that come with that

Alexandra Chando: Of course. It’s first a blessing, first of all, to just have the opportunity to play two roles. To be able to develop two characters and kind of find different things about them and explore them each and every day has been incredible. It does come with its challenges, though. I have 15-hour work days and I’m working an awful lot compared to what I would be working if I was just playing one character.

It’s a challenge in the sense, besides the hours and the exhaustion, just trying to keep them straight sometimes. We’re about to embark on Episode 6. Today, we start it. it’s gotten a little bit easier to really feel like these characters and understand them, but there are moments where a little bit of Sutton will creep into Emma and vice versa. It’s definitely been a challenge and I’d say, as well, having to act with a green screen or an eye line with an X on the wall has become easier, but it was definitely in a challenge in the beginning.
