Jenny’s Choice

If you’re like me and a fan of Bill & Jennifer Klein on The Little Couple, you’ll be happy to hear they, along with their kiddos Will & Zoey, are back tonight. Last season, they moved to St. Peterburg, Florida, when Jen got a job there. They bought a house but then had to have it retrofitted for little people. When we left off in December, the family was in China once again, for the first time after adopting Will a few years before. In addition to the four of them, they also took all six grandparents (Jen’s parents plus Bill’s mom and stepdad and dad and stepmom). Highlights included the walk up the Great Wall, where they had hot chocolate, and an adorable cooking lesson. All in all, it was a lot of fun for the whole family.

This season, we’ll see the family continuing to settle into St. Petersburg – in addition to school, the kids are involved in Bollywood dance and Cub Scouts (how cute!). On the downside, Jen needs hip replacement surgery, so the family must prepare for that. And Will, especially, is now old enough to really understand what surgery means. When Bill had his back surgery, neither kiddo was old enough to quite know what was going on. They knew they had to be careful with Daddy’s back, but that was pretty much it (at least, that’s what it seemed like to me). So it’ll be interesting to see how that all goes. Before tonight’s 2-hour season premiere, there’s an hour “Countdown to the New Season” special so you can catch up if you need to!

On tonight’s season premiere, “Wait, They’re Cutting You Open?” the family tries to make the best of the Christmas season as they travel to New York City for Jen’s hip replacement surgery.

See how the kids handle Jen’s surgery and find out how their time in Florida has been going tonight on TLC starting at 8/7c for the special and 9/8c for the 2-hour season premiere.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing Chopped & Bring the Funny.

I’m so happy because it seems like forever ago that we last saw Jen, Bill, Will, & Zoey on The Little Couple. When we left them, the family had visited friends in Vermont and had some fun in the snow, but the big question was their job and living situation… Jen got offered a huge job opportunity in St. Petersburg, Florida, heading up a new simulation division, which is what she’s been doing at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, but this would put her in charge of it at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital. In the end, they decided that even though Bill was just getting ready to open a new, bigger store for his business, the positives outweighed the negatives, and they decided to head to Florida. It should be fun to catch up with them and see how the move goes (well, by this time, how the move went!).

On tonight’s 2-hour premiere, “Why Do We Have to Move?” after accepting a job in St. Petersburg, Jen, Bill, and the kids travel to Florida to find a perfect new home, but with specific needs and two curious kids, house hunting isn’t easy; the family grabs a sweet treat to celebrate Jen’s birthday.

Go house hunting with the family tonight on TLC at 8/7c.

I’ll also be watching/DVRing NCIS, Chopped, FBI, Lethal Weapon, NCIS: New Orleans, & Sweet Home Sextuplets.

thewalkingdead43smallTonight, the sixth season of AMC’s The Walking Dead comes to a close with a special 90-minute finale, and it’s likely that one or more major character isn’t going to survive the night. Last week, Carol ran off in the middle of the night and ended up crossing paths with another group of Negan’s men. She was able to escape thanks to putting on her downtrodden weak persona…and the fact that she had a hidden machine gun she had sewn into the sleeve of her jacket. Meanwhile, when the rest of the group learned about Carol’s disappearance, they split up into search parties, while Daryl headed off on his own to find and kill Dwight. Rick and Morgan thought they were tracking Carol, but it ended up just being a walker that resembled her, so they headed back to Alexandria, where Maggie (with a new short haircut) started having extreme stomach pains. Elsewhere, Dwight managed to capture Glenn and Michonne and used them as bait to set a trap for Daryl, which worked. The episode ended with Dwight shooting Daryl and the camera view getting covered in blood. Is Daryl dead?!

I think it’s highly unlikely that Daryl is actually dead (yet) and that all that blood we saw was from some sort of shoulder wound rather than a head shot. However, that still doesn’t put our gang out of danger! Will Dwight take his captives to Negan? Will be finally see Negan, and if so, what’s his style of justice like? Also, what happened to Carol after she got away? Is Maggie in labor, or is she losing the baby? And is her situation life-threatening? It should be an exciting night, and I’m just hoping all of my favorite characters survive!

On tonight’s finale, “Last Day on Earth,” Rick and the group must go outside the walls to save one of their own, but what they experience on the road will change their lives forever.

Find out who lives or dies tonight on AMC at 9/8c.

I’ll also be watching/recording The Family, Quantico, The Carmichael Show, The Simpsons, Bob’s Burgers, The Last Man on Earth, Talking Dead, and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.

playinghouse98smallTonight, the (too short) second season of Playing House comes to a close with a double-dose of episodes. Last week, Maggie and Emma headed to Lake Kimmewah to spend the weekend together at their childhood vacation spot. It was the annual Kimmewah Kup paddle boat race, and the girls planned to beat their old nemeses the Custerman twins (played by the Sklar brothers). However, Maggie got upset that Emma was distracted during their gals weekend, constantly texting and calling her boyfriend Rabbi Dan. And when Dan showed up at the cabin, things only got worse. But, as always, the girls talked it out — their friendship can overcome any hurdles!

All I can say is that I love this show. It always makes me laugh out loud, and the relationship between Maggie and Emma feels so natural and real. They make you wish you were part of their world. If you haven’t checked out this show, what are you waiting for?! You can really jump in with any episode and also catch up via On Demand. I really hope tonight’s episodes aren’t the last 2 episodes of the series…and that USA won’t make us wait until December again to find out if the show’s coming back!

On tonight’s first episode, “Officer of the Year,” Emma organizes a policeman’s ball with help from Maggie and Rabbi Dan; Mark doesn’t have a date. And then in “Celebrate Me Scones,” Maggie surprises Emma with tickets to a special concert; and an old friend returns.

Catch the last two episodes of the season tonight on USA Network at 10/9c & 10:30/9:30c.

I’ll also be watching/recording Zoo, Hollywood Game Night, and Face Off.
