TV News – 01/20/09

It’s been a very busy but fabulous day. I had my volunteer day at my daughter’s school, and then I found out that I’m interviewing Gordon Ramsay on Friday! So if you have any questions that you’re dying to ask, put them in the comments and I’ll see what I can do. Now let’s get to the news.

It seems that the faculty over at West Beverly High is moving out of the famous zip code. First Jennie Garth, the school counsellor is leaving 90210 and now Rob Estes who plays Harry Wilson will be leaving as well. I don’t think this is going to be good for the show, especially seeing as the Wilson’s need a dad. *shrugs* It’s been confirmed that this is Estes last season on 90210 and although the rep for the show says that there’s a reason behind it, I’m hearing rumblings that it’s because of failed contract negotians. Despite that, Estes is still wishing the show “nothing but the best”. What do you think, will the show be the same without Principle Wilson or is the beginning of the end? Source

J. August Richards (Angel) and Sarah Paulson (Cupid) have been cast to play the younger versions of The Chief and Ellis Grey on Grey’s Anatomy. The episode will air on February 18th and will be filled with lots of flashbacks, hence the title Time Warp. It “will shed light on the beginnings of the affair between the Chief and Mer’s mom”. I think this is an inspired casting choice seeing as they both really look like the people they are portraying. I’m looking forward to this episode because I always wonder what people were like way back when, don’t you? Source

More after the jump

According to Ausiello, Billy Baldwin (Dirty Sexy Money) will be playing Serena’s dad on Gossip Girl. Baldwin will play the elusive, William van der Woosen, in at least three episodes starting in April. I feel that Baldwin will fill the role nicely, and am looking forward to seeing what kind of trouble he stirs up on the show.

ABC has picked up a pilot from Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice, that “focuses on three stateside doctors who opt to work for an isolate tropical clinic.”. The tentative name for the series is Off the Map which in my opinion is horrible and they should think of a new name before releasing it! I’m just not sure there’s room on TV for another Rhimes medical show let alone on ABC, but time will tell.

ABC also ordered a pilot called Body of Evidence from Chris Murphy (Dead Lawyers) about “a female medical examiner who used to work as a neurosurgeon”. Source

Get ready all you Gleeks (myself included), it’s been confirmed that Glee is going to be doing a concert tour in a few select cities. The news broke from Cory Monteith’s (Finn) twitter and I am so excited! Thanks to all the Glee stars for doing that and a special thanks to Monteith for loving TWITTER. 😉

That’s all for today folks! Don’t miss all new episodes of Criminal Minds at 9 pm on CBS and Modern Family on ABC also at 9 pm. Enjoy!
