TV News – 01/22/09

TGIF!! I am ready for a nice weekend aren’t you? Tomorrow we have my husband’s work Christmas party, yes I’m serious. Something about not having time in December, so we’re getting decked out and off to celebrate Christmas again. Alright enough about me because frankly I’m not that interesting and on to some TV news.

Jordin Sparks who won American Idol is going to be guest starring on Bones. No details on the exact date or the role, just that Sparks is over the moon excited as she wrote on her Twitter yesterday. “You guys KNOW I was freaking out! I LOVE BONES! #Bones # Bones #Bones I’m so excited! Holy moly. Can’t wait to see the set!” I can’t blame her that is exciting news. I’ll let you know when I know more details. Source

More after the jump

TNT has picked up three new series, 2 for late 2010 and one for 2011. The show that will debut sometime in 2011 is the yet-to-be titled alien series starring Noah Wyle (ER) and is produced by the great Steven Spielberg. The second series is Delta Blues starring Jason Lee (My Name is Earl) as a Memphis cop, and has George Clooney as an executive producer. Finally we have Rizzoli & Isles that centers around a Boston homicide detective played by Angie Harmon (Law&Order) who teams up with a medical examiner played by Sasha Alexander (NCIS) to solve crimes. This is based on the book series by Tess Gerritsen, featuring Jane Rizzoli & Maura Isles. All three sound promising and the network has ordered 10 episodes of each. I’m looking forward to having Noah Wyle back on TV again, as well as intrigued by a new alien show… perhaps I’ll even like this one šŸ˜‰ . Source

That’s about it for today, but I’m going to do my darndest to get some great interviews posted later today. Tonight is the series premiere of Caprica at 9 pm on Syfy, and you can also watch the Hope for Haiti special tonight starting at 8 pm on ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, CW, CMT, HBO, MTV and VH1! Have a great weekend!
