TV News – 01/25/09

I guess it’s the usual Monday, especially here where it’s drizzling and damp, but if nothing else here’s some news to bring excitement to your day. πŸ™‚

Lainie Kazan (My Big Fat Greek Wedding) and Nester Serrano (24) have been cast to play Bobby’s parents on Ugly Betty. Hilda will be meeting Bobby’s parents around the 15th episode of this season, and she’ll be snooping to find out if it’s true “that Bobby’s dad has ties to organized crime.” I’m sure the dinner will go without a hitch… yeah right! πŸ™‚ So far the casting is only for episode but if it’s a success I’m sure they’ll be back. Sam Page (Mad Men), is joining the cast of Desperate Housewives, for a couple episode arc. He’ll play “Jeremy, a well-trained cook who idolizes Bree and her old-fashioned values.” Page will make his debut in February and I’m all for anything that brings more possible drama to Bree’s life, aren’t you? CBS has renewed Survivor for two more seasons and The Amazing Race for one more. That will bring their total run up to 22 and 17 respectively. I love The Amazing Race and have a season of Survivor or two, so I’m okay with this news. I’m not sure how many more places we can strand people for Survivor though, can you? Source

Chace Crawford (Gossip Girl) is lending his voice to an episode of Family Guy this coming Sunday. Crawford will voice the character of Luke who gets Meg thrown in jail for aiding and abiding him. Let’s just say this is going to be amusing, and that Meg is no Serena Van Der Woosen (Blake Lively). Source

Ausiello is spoiling us with details of the Fringe season 2 finale, but because a lot of it is quite detailed I’m going to give you a link and warn you not to read if you don’t like spoilers. Everyone else go HERE!

That’s it for today, watch for more interviews and some pilot reviews to be up soon. Catch an all new episode of House tonight at 8 pm on FOX.
