TV News – 8/3/10

I had a hard time believing today was a Tuesday, it felt like a Monday. It may have been because we had a long weekend here in Canada, but it was just one of those days. Enough about my day let’s look at some TV news.

Dallas Roberts (The L Word) will be joining the cast of The Good Wife on a recurring basis. Roberts will play Alicia’s (Julianna Margulies) gay brother. It’s not as exciting as it sounds. According to executive producer Robert King, they thought it would great “if it didn’t matter”. Alicia will have no real issue with it, but having her brother swing through town will help show us more of her past including some parental talk. I’m happy about this casting because I think that Roberts is a very talented actor and I love that they aren’t going to make it a big issue about the character’s sexual orientation. It shouldn’t always have to be a HUGE story line. Source

More after the jump.

Courtney Ford (Dexter), will be showing up on our televisions again this fall, when she takes a recurring role on The Vampire Diaries. Ford will be playing “the potentially recurring role of Vanessa, a grad student at Duke who helps Damon, Alaric and Elena go through Isobel’s old research.” Any news on Vampire Diaries casting is a happy event for me. I didn’t get to watch the whole first season when it was on, but I have been catching up on it now and I’m HOOKED! I can’t wait for the next season and all the exciting twists and turns. Source

Jeff Goldblum is leaving Law & Order : Criminal Intent,” due to the uncertainty” of the show. Goldblum’s contract with the show has ended and he decided to leave. Everyone says they’re leaving on good terms. This decision is understandable considering the show just finished it’s 9th season and there isn’t any talk of a 10th season. Sorry to see him go. Source

That’s all I have for you tonight, but as always check back tomorrow for more news and reviews.
