It’s the finals. The battle of the best. The last chance these dancers have to prove to America that they deserve to be crowned the winner. The only problem is… who do you choose? Well, I hope my recap helps but frankly these three dancers are so close that only God knows who’s going to take it. Jump ahead to read my recap and review of the performance night of the Top 3.
Kent and all star Lauren
Bollywood choreographed by Nakul Dev Mahajan
My Thoughts: I actually found it really entertaining and it seems that Kent found a use for his cheese other broadway. It’s hard not to smile at the kid, he’s really adorable.
Judges: Nigel thought it was fun, and great. Mia liked it. Adam thought it was the energizer bunny and perfect.
Lauren and all star Twitch
Hip-Hop choreographed by Tabitha and Napoleon
My Thoughts: It was a sick idea for a routine, about a debate. They were so on the ball tonight, and Lauren was fierce. I loved this number, I’d vote for Lauren.
Judges: Nigel thinks it’s any body’s night to win, but he thinks she danced it really strong. He thinks she nailed it. Mia thinks she’s “filthy”. Cat piped in with “aren’t all good politicians”. Snap! While filthy doesn’t seem like a compliment to most, it’s supposed to be. Mia thinks Lauren is consistent and that all choreographers want to have in a dancer. Adam thinks she’s “the best” and that she’s “one of his favorite girls the show has ever had.” Funny she’s one of my top favorites too.
Robert and all star Mark
Jazz choreographed by Tyce Diorio
My Thoughts: The song choice of Whip It was rather odd, and I had a hard time telling them apart while they were dressed a like and look so much like each other. That said they are both great dancers and Mark has always been one of my favorites. The routine was pretty good, but not as impressive as the 2 guy routine with Kent and Neil choreographed by Travis Wall.
Judges: Nigel says he “actually doesn’t mind which one of the three wins”. Mia thinks he’s the “most improved dancer”. Adam thinks this routine was a testament to the all-star element.
The Finish Line by Train
My Thoughts: He really is a fine specimen of a man… well a man boy. 😉 His dancing is inspiring when he’s really just letting go and dancing from his heart. I have always liked Kent and I’m very happy he’s in the finale.
Lauren and Robert
Contemporary choreographed by Dee Caspary
My Thoughts: That was quite the nightgown that Lauren had on, she looked amazing. Robert didn’t look too bad himself all shirtless with his buff self. 😉 Such a sweet routine, and I love the way the pillow is home, because let’s face it we all love to be at home. They don’t look as great together as Kent and Lauren did but they definitely danced well together.
Judges: Nigel thinks that the word “strength” sums them both up. Mia thinks it was Robert’s most “delicious performance”, and thinks he has evolved. She thinks Lauren is “perfection”. Adam saw “magnificent beauty” but he also saw how much they really love each other and support each other.
Lauren and Kent
Jazz choreographed by Mandy Moore
My Thoughts: They are so freaking adorable, but I didn’t think the routine was intense enough for the finale. It was fun routine, and was very like their personality. That’s all I have to say.
Judges: Nigel agreed with me and thought there wasn’t enough dancing to judge. Mia isn’t sure what to think, and while she enjoyed the quirkiness, but she didn’t like it. She did think they danced it really well. Adam just said he loved them and for them to get out of there.
The District Sleeps Alone by The Postal Service
My Thoughts: The piece before the solo, made me realize that in the beginning I really disliked Robert but now I admire him. He’s been through a lot and it’s always sweet when a boy loves his mom.
My Thoughts: That was a very raw routine. Kent was actually a man in this routine as opposed to the usual boyish charm. I found it emotional to watch, and I was enthralled by him, and the routine. That’s what a fight looks like between a couple but only dancing.
Judges: Nigel enjoyed it . Mia called him out on what he said at the end of the routine when he told Alison to get off of him. He obviously didn’t mean to say it, but he was so caught up in the routine that he was upset. Adam was so proud of him for becoming an artist and not just a dancer.
I’m Goin’ Down by Mary J. Blige
My Thoughts: What an amazing little routine. I love Lauren, and I really hope she wins. I can’t believe the energy she has after all these routines. Fantastical!
My Thoughts: Robert was really sexy during this routine. He was a criminal and I wanted to let him have his way with me. Wait did I just type that? Oh yes I did. I enjoyed the routine a lot and I can’t believe I’m starting to love Robert. I will say that I wasn’t a fan of Kathryn at all. Sorry. The interrogation routine was sweet and I’m buying.
Judges: Nigel thought he did well. Mia loved it but wanted more simmer. Adam really liked it and thought they were respectful to the original.
My Thoughts: Lauren looked fabulous, and wow was she ever sexy. Man eater indeed, but after all what woman wouldn’t become one with Pasha ? 😉 I’m always impressed how she can go from incredibly goofy girl to sex bomb in a second. I loved the lifts, they were hot.
Judges: Nigel thought she looked “damn near perfect”. Mia is happy she stood up for Lauren’s butt earlier this season. She said if she was still dancing she would want to dance just like Lauren. Adam thought it was “exhibition style perfect”.
Kent and Robert
Malevous Fight choreographed by Miriam Larici and Leonardo Barrionuevo
My Thoughts: Nice suits, and all Matrix style dancing. It was a really gangster style tango, and I enjoyed it. I love that it showcased the strength of the boys. They almost looked grown up… almost.
Judges: Nigel thinks it shows how hard they have had to work this week. He hopes everyone just votes. Mia loved the feel of the piece, but they needed tighter leg work. Adam thinks these three finalists are his three favorite dancers from all the seasons.
