It’s interesting what you can learn when you watch shows like Only in America with Larry the Cable Guy with your family. We watched the episode from a couple of weeks ago, where Larry went to Washington D.C. That led to discussions about 9/11 and about the passengers on the plane that went down in the middle of the field, and then we talked about the Oklahoma City bombing in 1995. It was just really an interesting few minutes and made me realize why I like that show. It’s silly a lot of times, but it’s spurned a lot of interesting conversations for our family. Do you have any shows like that? Speaking of shows…some of my favorites are on tonight, so read on to see what we think you should be watching.

I love when we get new episodes of Castle. The episode three weeks ago where the victims were dressed like fairytale characters was great. When it turned out to be the last “victim” that was the killer, I was actually surprised, and that doesn’t happen a ton for me. I love that they figured it out because the bow was tied wrong on her outfit as she supposedly lay in bed after the killer got to her. Of course, the best part of the episode was at the end, when Castle and Beckett sat with Alexis and watched Martha’s one-woman play about being Rick Castle’s mother…and Beckett slipped her hand into Castle’s. I swear, shippers’ hearts must have been fluttering over the entire viewing audience. I know mine was!
Our favorite non-couple couple is growing closer and closer throughout this season. There’s still a lot up in the air for them, though. So many secrets… Will they be strong enough to survive Kate admitting she heard Castle’s proclamation of love? Will Castle’s deception that he is continuing to look into her mother’s case, meeting with people who know about it in secret, make her run because she can’t trust him? I swear, it’s driving me crazy with worry. Hopefully the writers won’t let us down! I can’t handle another season finale that has them driven apart like we’ve gotten up til now!
On tonight’s episode, “A Dance with Death,” when Odette Morton, a contestant on the hit competition show “A Night of Dance” is found murdered in her dressing room, Castle and Beckett must navigate the case’s many twists and twirls without stepping on each other’s toes. But as they delve into Odette’s past, they discover that this reality starlet was harboring a shocking secret that may have led to her death. (Obviously this is a play on Dancing with the Stars, which premieres just before this episode! lol) Adam Harrington (The Secret Circle, Whistler, Show Me Yours), Lauralee Bell (The Young and the Restless), Erin Chambers (General Hospital), & Tim Ransom guest star.

Smash has been getting better and better every week. I have been loving the storyline with Julia and Michael. That love scene last week was so hot. When Michael sang to Julia and kissed her outside her house – melt. This storyline can only get more dramatic and messy, but I am going to love every minute of it. Also, does anyone else notice how they seem to be foreshadowing Tom hooking up with Sam? It’s almost a bit too in our faces. They need to tone it down a bit so that a “surprise” like that is actually more surprising.
On tonight’s episode, “The Workshop,” everything comes to a head as Eileen, Derek, and the team present “Marilyn the Musical” to would-be investors. Ivy is under pressure to perform, while her mother, Broadway star Leigh Conroy (Bernadette Peters), undermines her at every turn. Karen must decide between the workshop and a meeting with a big-time music producer. Julia and Michael must face up to the consequences of their actions.
To see how the workshop goes, tune in to NBC at 10/9c. Learn where to find episodes online of Smash @ Clicker.
Tonight, I’ll also be watching The Voice, 2 Broke Girls, Hawaii Five-0, Mike & Molly, Pretty Little Liars, Alcatraz, and Being Human.
We are coming down to the final hours of the first season of Alcatraz, and there are still so many unanswered questions. Each week, we get a tiny nugget of information regarding the overall mythology. Last week, we learned that tests were being done on the inmates in the 60s. Their blood was being mixed with radioactive substances and then put back in their bodies. This may be the cause of some of their strange behaviors, such as faster healing and increased rage.
With only three episodes left this season (or series, if it doesn’t get picked up), I hope we get some major answers tonight. We still don’t know who is behind this whole thing or what their goal is. We also don’t have clear information on how/when/where/why these inmates came back. While the cases of the week can be interesting, I would like to see some bigger advancements in answering the overall mythology.
In tonight’s episode, “Webb Porter,” Rebecca, Doc, and Hauser set out to capture musically-inclined serial killer Webb Porter (guest star Rami Malek, Night at the Museum), an unknown ’63 that returns more violent than ever.

Tonight, I’ll also be watching How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Castle, Smash, The Voice, Being Human, and House.
Last week on Pretty Little Liars, Emily, Hanna, Spencer, and Aria searched for the meaning of the new clues they had unearthed from Ali’s bag of personal items. It lead them to a doll hospital, which held some seriously eerily familiar dolls, along with Seth, a little boy who knew a lot more then he lead on. Plus, the ladies learned about secrets that were stashed away on the shelves between the playmates. Jenna took off the bandage from her eye surgery, and her vision was crystal clear…
On tonight’s episode, “Unmasked,” it’s A-Day bitches, the moment you have finally been waiting for! Tonight, “A” is revealed, and a whole new story begins to spin. Rosewood’s Junior League Masquerade Gala is the hot spot for “A’s” next game of cat and mouse with his/her favorite targets – Aria, Spencer, Hanna, and Emily. But with the Liars on A’s heels, is this about to be “A’s” last move?

Another show I always look forward to on Monday is Hawaii Five-0. Like Castle, it’s been three weeks since the last new episode, and honestly, it wasn’t as exciting as I’d hoped that one would be. Dennis Miller guest starring as the shock jock really was a waste. He wasn’t on there for long enough to bring in that big a name. But having James Caan guest starring opposite his son Scott (Danny Williams) was great. He had plenty of screen time, and Danny and Tony Archer got to argue and banter back and forth enough, it was pretty fun to watch. I miss seeing James on Las Vegas (I miss that show in general. lol), so I really loved having him guest on here.
This episode should be good, because it brings back McGarrett’s sister, who we haven’t seen for quite a while, (although I’m not sure we’ll actually SEE her or not, since she’s not listed as a guest star…so maybe we just hear about her?) and Tom Sizemore, who is always fun to watch, is guest starring. Plus, Emmy Award winner Ed Asner guest stars, reprising his role of “August March,” an up-and-coming world-class smuggler, from the original Hawaii Five-0 1975 episode, “Wooden Model of a Rat.” Footage from the original series will be included in the episode. That’s too cool. I love how they are going to tie the two versions together.
On tonight’s episode, “Kalele (Faith),” when McGarrett’s sister is arrested for trying to smuggle $20 million worth of conflict diamonds, he and Chief Fryer reach out to August March, an ex-con who served 30 years for diamond smuggling, to help arrange a sting operation.
